Drug utilization of specific biotherapeutic agents and biosimilars in the Czech Republic Author: Olha Vasko Supervisor: PharmDr. Simona Dvořáčková, Ph.D. Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University in Prague Introduction: Biosimilars represent an alternative to innovative biological medicinal products, contribute to improvement of the effectiveness of treatment and enable to gain access to expensive therapy of serious diseases. Objective: The objective of the practical part of the diploma thesis was to analyze trends in drug utilization of specific biotherapeutic agents and biosimilars in the Czech Republic between 2008-2022. The secondary aim of the practical part was analysis of the expenditures for specific biotherapeutic agents and biosimilars in given period. Methods: Drug utilization from the database of the State Institute for Drug Control has been evaluated from 2008 until 2022. The values of defined daily doses were used to process the results, which were subsequently converted to the number of defined daily doses per 1000 inhabitants per day (DID). In the theoretical part, special focus is on the phenomenon of physicians' acceptance of recommendations made by clinical pharmacist. It also summarizes the recent studies on this topic. In the following analysis in practical part, the interventions of clinical pharmacist are put under scrutiny as well as the types of the drug-related problems, which are encountered by the clinical pharmacist, the seriousness of these problems and their possible solutions. Furthermore, the physicians' acceptance of recommendations made by clinical pharmacist is measured. Their main task is to ensure the payment of health services in the form of health insurance. The objective of the work was to analyze the development of health insurance companies in the Czech Republic with a focus on the costs of medicinal products (MP) and medical devices (MD) dispensed on medical prescription in the years 2018-2020. Methodology: Data on health insurance companies' economy were obtained from the annual reports for the years 2018-2020, which health insurance companies publish on their websites. Data on the total costs of selected health services related to prescription of MP and MD and expenses for MP and MD dispensed on prescription issued by health service providers were processed. For the possibility of comparison, the data were converted to one insured person. The aim of this masters thesis was to analyse the use of potentially risky over- the-counter medicines, dietary supplements or food in patients with a history of kidney disease taking immunosuppressants. Methods: Data for the cross-sectional study were obtained in the form of a controlled interview with patients of the Nephrology Consultation of the Teaching Hospital Hradec Králové. The guided interview was carried out by the researcher in the form of phone calls with patients in March 2022 through a structured questionnaire. The questionnaire was compiled on basis of a literature search and knowledge gained about possible interactions between immunosuppressants and over-the- counter medicinal products, dietary supplements and food. The main goal of this diploma thesis was to analyse continuing education after graduation used by selected members of the District Association of Pharmacists. Methods: Data for a practical part of this diploma thesis were collected by a questionnaire survey. A 39-item survey was administered to selected pharmacists (members in the Czech Chamber of Pharmacists) from randomly chosen the District Associations of Pharmacists. The address to access the survey was added in a recruitment letter. In this letter, the study was also described and was sent to 858 pharmacists through their e-mail addresses. The first mailing was sent after 7 days, the second mailing after 14 days. The respondents who filled in compulsory questions were included in the analysis. Descriptive statistics were used for analysing the results of the survey. Results: The survey of the 299 respondents...

Development of pharmacy practice is observed in contact with historical developmet of the region and is connected with the major developmental milestones in the health field. The thesis focuses on a chronological description of pharmacies in the region of Mladá Boleslav.

Jan Babica Title of diploma thesis: Archives of the Czech Pharmaceutical Museum XIII. Archival collection Pharmacy Development Centre II. In my thesis I addressed the activity of the Pharmacy Development Center. In particular I dealed with the building up and internal equipment of the pharmacies. My goal was to create an inventory of the part of the archive of the Fond of Pharmacy Development Center which is related to the building up of the pharmacies and to sumarize the norms and their ammendments over the years on which the Pharmacy Development Center took part. Norms in this thesis are presented according to how they were ammended and what they concerned during the building up of the pharmacies. I inventorized a part of the Fond archive according to the registry key. I categorized, moved and discarded the documents. I created an archiving tool - inventory to ease the work of further developers.

Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic Introduction: The six-month traineeship at a pharmacy is an obligatory course for the final year students who have been studying Pharmacy at FAF UK in Hradec Kralove. The purpose of this course is to fix the theory and let the students transform their knowledge into practical skills while preparing them to work at a pharmacy. Aim of the thesis: The evaluation of the questionnaire survey from two academical years. The summary and comparison of the opinion of final year students at FAF UK on their six-month traineeship, the pharmacy where they had been completing their practice and assessing the feasibility of the students' change proposals. The theoretical part is focused on the issue of the six- month traineeship at a pharmacy mainly in the term of legislation and current requirements. Methodology: A questionnaire survey which was created at the Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy at the Charles University in 2007 took place to collect the data.
