E-book piracy on the internet

This bachelor thesis deals with problems of e-book piracy. It describes e-book development and tries to answer the question why e-books began to be favourite item to pirate. Then it deals with laws, with which government tries to stop piracy and with action of copyright owners, with which they tries to prevent and stop piracy.
User interface optimization for a specific website

This thesis shows on specific website common problems of many websites and offers their particular solutions. In the introduction is given explanation of selecting website and there are also mentioned main elements with bad functionality. Their bad functionality is proven trough user usability testing. Chapter Uživatelské testování původního stavu represents among others, that even easy form of testing method is very beneficial. Next chapters focus on structure of information optimization and also on elements and their graphic design, which make orientation in it easier. Not only in this website. The whole thesis also shows, that for website creation is not enough just a good programmer or designer, which is common, but also an expert on information architecture and usability of elements, which make orientation for users easier. And from that point of view is this thesis looking on optimization issue.
Responsive Web Design

This thesis deals with responsive web design, i.e. a method of creating web pages, which are adapted to device. The goal is to describe primary principles and introduce technological options of its creation. The described principles are discussed through exemplary source code and illustrations. Flexible grid, media queries and flexible images are the three basic pillars. The approaches of creating pages with mobile first and desktop first are two different strategies used in formation responsive pages. Responsive web design seems to be an appropriate method of building web pages intended for the mobile devices and desktops, against creating multiple version of web page for different devices.
Creating and managing online translation agency

The aim of this thesis is to carry out a business process model and user interface of an online translation agency that is capable of competition on a global marketplace. The business process model has been designed through analysing the main competitors and modifying their approach and mechanisms. The user interface has been created using and implementing time-proven principles of graphic design. The main result of this thesis is a functioning and competitive business process model of an online translation agency.
Metadata and Accessing Information on the Internet

The aim of my bachelor thesis is to introduce the reader to the possible ways of creating metadata in the environment of popular CMS and communicate my personal opinions on the influence of metadata on information searches in the environment of WWW services. The first chapter introduces basic information on metadata, their development, their classification and ways of application. The main focus lies on HTML element meta. At the end of the chapter I ponder the future of semantic approach to web. The second chapter informs the reader about the issue of searching information in WWW environment. The beginning of the chapter defines the basic concepts, then follows the description of function of internet search engines and at the end deals with the SEO issue and its relation to metadata. The last chapter describes the most popular CMS and their interaction with metadata. It opens with practical illustration in the WordPress system a closes with theoretical description of its competition. After reading this theses the readers should understand what metadata are, why they should use them, and how to implement them in their own web pages using CMS.
Designing a web application for managing band finance and concert orders

The main aim of the bachelor thesis is to outline a solution of a web application, that would simplify the process of managing band finance and concert orders. Profound understanding of the topic will be based mainly on market research together with an observation of real processes of a Prague-based band called Hot Wings. The third chapter will present the findings in form of a business process models as well as both graphical and functional solution with a list of planned technologies. In the fourth chapter it will be followed by an outline of pricing and marketing strategy. The result of the thesis will serve as an initial research preceding a development of a real application.
Creating a functional prototype of mobile application

The aim of this thesis is to create a functional prototype of mobile application which will serve to the purpose of managing warranty documents. Way how to achieve the objective is to carry out a user survey and subsequent user testing from which the prototype of mobile applications emerges. In the theoretical part I analysed the most common methods of user research and user testing and evaluated them for the purposes of my thesis. In the practical part I used the selected methods to perform user research and user testing and subsequently created a prototype.
Design and development of a WordPress extension for multimedial portfolios

Career success in creative bussines largely depends on online presence. Grounding principles and elements of web portfolio are explored first. Then current trends in design and used technology for this type of web presentations are explored. On basis of these findings a WordPress extention is designed and its development is documented. This extension provides an easy way to organise multimedia uploads and easy to use administration for customizing appearance and functionality of a web portfolio.
The development of e-shop for WordPress

The thesis focuses on developing e-shop with CMS WordPress and plugin eShop. Its aim is to write a methodology by which it would be possible to create e-shop step by step. The work outlines the advantages and possible disadvantages of this solution. Outcome of this work are also additional scripts that optimizes functionality of eShop plugin and extensions for linking e-shop with Czech e-commerce services. Czech localization for plugin eShop is also part of this thesis. Writing methodology precedes the preparation of the technical background documents WordPress and the selected extension called eShop. The first chapter defines the objective of the thesis and are defined substrates. The following is research that confirms the absence of similar methodologies or guidelines in both Czech and foreign language. The third chapter presents the used solution and reveals the technical basics of WordPress and plugins. The main part - the fourth chapter contains the very methodology of creating e shop. It takes the reader through the process from installation to launch the e-shop. Includes introduction of making templates, analysis appropriate plugins and show how to edit them. This part also presents how to manage products and orders, create Czech localization, links to e-commerce services and additional programming required functions in e-shop. Chapter contains recommendations for the operation and maintenance of the e shop and subchapter about user testing describes method by Steve Krug, use it as a practical demonstrations and evaluating conclusions. Contribution of this thesis is the know-how in terms of methodology, expanding the knowledge base of the community, the additional scripts for e-shop and written recommendations for the process of operation e-shop by WordPress.
Web accessibility of major Czech universities

This Bachelor thesis deals with web accessibility issues. Its aim is to analyze web pages of major Czech universities and evaluate the accessibility level they provide to their users. The WCAG 2.0 methodology served as a basis for this evaluation process, because it specifies the most current requirements for accessible websites. The purpose of the theoretical part of the thesis is to acquaint the reader with the web accessibility issues. It contains a definition of accessibility itself and also talks about disabled Internet users, for which the compliance of web accessibility standards is crucial. The theoretical part also outlines the legislative regulation of accessibility in the Czech Republic and presents the accessible web development methodologies. The practical part of the thesis contains the accessibility analysis, a description of the evaluated websites and the final test results summary. The main contribution of this thesis is an objective assessment of the condition, in which the web pages of Czech universities are in terms of accessibility. This assessment can serve as a clue for removing any deficiencies that occur on the tested websites.
