Part of this block was constituted of questions dedicated to the purchase of visually not quite perfect fruit and vegetables. The respondents were specifically expressing what foods they would choose if they had possibility to choose from - whether perfect or less perfect and whether they would even think about the appearance of the selected vegetable or fruit. They also chose the reasons that would lead them to this choice. One of the questions was also focused on who, according to the respondents, decides which fruit and vegetables are going to get into the counter at the shops. The last point was respondents´ estimation of wasted food share due to visual imperfections towards total production. According to results of the research, Czech consumers would prefer visually perfect fruit and vegetables before those with imperfections. This type of food have elected 61 % of respondents. Public Policy Options in Increasing Political Sophistication of Adult Citizens in the Czech Republic
Černá, Lucie ; Veselý, Arnošt (advisor) ; Mička, Pavel (referee)
This thesis presents the theme of low political awareness of adult citizens in the Czech Republic from the perspective of public policy. Low level of political awareness is conceived as a major reason that voters are not able to vote according to their real interests. The focus is on whether the problem is a topic that public policy should pursue and whether it is possible to find a public policy tools to deal with it. It is mainly based on the three-dimensional model of political sophistication, Evert Vedung's concept of public policy instruments, the concept of the correct voting and ideas of participatory democracy. Despite the fact that the given issue bears the hallmarks of an ideal problem for public policy and we can find some tools that could improve the current situation, there are broader factors that hinder their operations. These include the impact of previous undemocratic regime or the behavior of politicians. Such barriers are closely related to the way of human thinking and can be removed only with difficulty.

Černá, Lucie ; Paulíček, Miroslav (advisor) ; Balon, Jan (referee)
Art museums still have an essential role, both for the art world and the wider society. This thesis deals mainly with their transformation and challenges they have to face in relation to contemporary society. It focuses on the development of museums, the transformation of values they embody and also on changes in normative expectations in conjunction with them. The paper also discusses the role of museums with increasing emphasis on their educational role, because this role could help museums to succeed in their current efforts to open to the wider audience. Today, these attempts to democratize represent crucial task of art museums. These efforts, however, depend on the concept of aesthetic taste which the paper also deals with. To be successful, it is desirable to view taste as a skill that can be cultivated through education. Since those who influence success in this field are museum professionals, this work deals also with their position within the museums and the art world and the strategies which are used by them. The fundamental shifts in art museums and their responses to the demands of the public occurred as a result of institutional critique that began in the 60's of last century. The new museology, critical curating and relational aesthetics can be included under this trend. As these...

Phenomenon camp
Černá, Lucie ; Paulíček, Miroslav (advisor) ; Holeček, Tomáš (referee)
In this work we pay attention especially to the broader introducing of the phenomenon, which is called Camp. We describe here the basic features of the camp, such as excessive efforts to effect, a possession for foiled art and his seriousness, which fails. We discuss the camp view of the surrounding world, with its typical irony, and we refer also to the current form of this phenomenon. We try to show the historical development of the camp, with particular emphasis on modernity, precisely because of his perception that it is based. Space is also devoted to the development, which can be detected in the works of various authors who deal with the theme of Camp. We focus also on specific redefinition of "good" and "bad" art, and not neglecting the relationship between camp and kitsch, as it often leads to erroneous substitution of these two phenomena. Much of the work is dedicated to taste, because camp has become sociologically relevant issue in communion with it. Here we focus mainly on the different view of the taste of "upper class" and the upper class itself. We show the connection of Camp with the theory of American authors Kern and Peterson which refers to the cultural "omnivorousness". At the same time we try to indicate where in the sociological point of view upon taste there is a place for...
