Homogenization in Perforated Domains
Rozehnalová, Petra ; Bock, Igor (oponent) ; Rohan, Eduard (oponent) ; Franců, Jan (vedoucí práce)
The numerical solving of mathematical models describing the mechanical behavior of materials with a fine structure (composite materials, finely perforated materials etc.) usually requires huge computational performance. Hence in numerical modeling the original material is replaced by an equivalent homogeneous one. In this work a two-scale convergence based on a periodical unfolding operator is used to find the homogenized material. The operator was for the first time used by J. Casado-Díaz. In this Ph.D. thesis, the operator is defined in a slightly different way which allows us to prove some of its new properties. The unfolding operator for functions defined on a perforated domain is defined analogically and its properties are proved. Finally, this operator is used to find the homogenized solution of a special family of problems with an integral boundary condition; some numerical results are presented.

Granular Dynamics of the Mixing Processes for Different RPM Using DEM
Jirounková, K. ; Havlica, Jaromír ; Kohout, M.
This paper emphasizes on the computer simulations of the granular materials via Discrete Element Method (DEM) by using open-source software LIGGGHTS. The examined process was mixing of two granular materials distinct by colour. The different initial conditions have led to finding the best way of homogenization, but it also shows the new perspective of noticing the process as a system of inseparable processes linked to each other.

Quality control and homogeneity testing of daily time series of eca ECA&D
Zahradníček, Pavel ; Štěpánek, Petr ; Farda, Aleš ; Skalák, Petr
For any meaningful climate analysis, it is necessary for analysed time series to be homogeneous, which means that their variations are caused solely by variations in weather and climate (Conrad and Pollak 1950). Th us, prior to any analysis, the need to homogenize data and check their quality arises. Unfortunately, most of the climatological series that span over decades, to centuries, contain inhomogeneities caused by station relocations, exchange of observers, changes in the vicinity of the stations (e.g. urbanization), changes in instruments, observing practices (e.g. diff erent formulas for calculating daily means, diff erent observation times), etc. In this work we focused on testing the quality and homogeneity of daily data produced by ECA&D. Th is is a free available dataset of daily meteorological elements from the European Climate Assessment & Dataset (http://eca.knmi.nl/). Th is database was used to create a regular grid of EOBS points, which are oft en used to validate climate models.

V příspěvku jsou porovnány jednotlivé možnosti modelování elementární buňky z hlediska rozdělení napětí v okolí částice i z hlediska globální mechanické odezvy kompozitu. Modelování tohoto typu může přispět k jednoduššímu odhadu vlastností polymerních kompozitů na základě znalosti velikosti, distribuce a materiálových vlastností jednotlivých komponent.
