Stress tester
Charvát, Ondřej ; Martinásek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Zeman, Václav (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with network infrastructure load testing. It’s target is to design and implement a network probe which will be in a form of JMeter plugin one of the components in load tester project. It offers sufficient theoretical basis about load testing, analyzes different types of DoS which can be used to stress the tested infrastructure and also discusses some solutions for load testing realization used in practice. Following is a study of possible ways for realization of the probe with help of several open-source tools. The suitability of individual tools is evaluated from the point of view of the network probe requirements and then the most suitable ones are selected as the basis for it’s implementation. Then, a network probe design is constructed in which it’s functionality is divided into two separated plug-ins, a network probe itself and a server emulator, and the implementation phase is commenced. The implementation is done in Java programming language to allow the new components to use all the neccessary JMeter API functions. The structure of individual parts of the modules as well as many implementation details are analyzed thoroughly in the text. The final chapter of the thesis describes function of the newly created components. After their installation into the load tester the procedure and the results of the functional testing are presented. This thesis describes the whole process of developing a plug-in for JMeter software.
Geolocation in Internet using latency measurements
Harth, Petr ; Balej, Jiří (referee) ; Komosný, Dan (advisor)
This diploma thesis is concerned with practical realization of CBG (Constraint-based Geolocation) algorithm, which is one of the IP (Internet Protocol) geolocation technique. IP geolocation determines the localization of a computer workstation location on the basis of on its IP address. The factors causing delays in data transfer are discussed first, followed by discussion of the issue of measuring these delays. The detailed explanation of IP geolocation follows where its contexts as well as the active geolocation techniques (techniques based on delay measurement mentioned above) are described. After that a brief description of PlanetLab experimental network, which was used for geolocation techniques measuring, is presented followed by a section explaining the creation of reference points and targets, which are another necessary prerequisite for practical realization of the method. Then the practical realization is explained in the form of CBGfinder program and its verification on the basis of artificial input data along with an actual example of IP geolocation of a point in the Internet are provided. Last but not least the measurement results of CBG algorithm are introduced, based on the analysis of Bestline parameters of one of the PlanetLab nodes measured in the period of one month, followed by a discussion of the inaccuracy of geological position and the computation speed. The cumulative distribution function as well as the kernel density estimation are also described. Final part of the thesis consists of discussion on measured results compared to results of other geological techniques results implemented by colleagues of the author of this diploma thesis. The results are compared on the basis of average inaccuracy of geological position estimations and its median, computation time, cumulative distribution function and kernel density estimation are also taken into regard.
Sketchup visualization of statrionery robots

Breath monitoring during motion therapy
Koťová, Markéta ; Bubník, Karel (referee) ; Kolářová, Jana (advisor)
This semestral thesis deals with continuous monitoring of pulmonary ventilation during the patients' theraphy and focuses especially on monitoring of their ventilation processes. It is necessarry to detect, monitor and differentiate abdominal and thoracic breathing during the theraphy. This thesis describes the very basic and common method, a spirometry. Next, an overview of more advanced state-of-the-art methods based on both, tactile and proximity principles is given. In addition to that, two recently developed methods by BUT are discussed as well -- a tactile-based measurement similar to blood pressure sensor and a proximity-based measurement method employing TOF cameras. The data acquired by these two methods are proccesed and examined in order to evaluate and justify their performance in a real application.
Security of VoIP protocols
Novotný, František ; Číka, Petr (referee) ; Krajsa, Ondřej (advisor)
This bachelor dissertation deals with the VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) safety. The most used transport and signal protocols employing this technology are presented first. Two extended protocols, SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) and IAX (Inter-Asterisk eXchange Protocol), as well as open source Asterisk, which is closely connected with these protocols, are shown in detail. After that, methods, attacks and threats able to assure secure transfer in the use of VoIP among users are described. Afterwards the practical part of this essay, divided into two parts, is presented. In the first part, a passive attack in the form of tapping is demonstrated, and in the second, active attacks are described which take the form of forced cancellations and forwarded calls between two communicating users. With both attacks, safety measures that could effectively prevent against their potential attacking are proposed. In the closing part, the VoIP safety is evaluated for securing a quality connection between users communicating through it.
Geolocation of Internet nodes based on communication latency
Horák, Michael ; Balej, Jiří (referee) ; Komosný, Dan (advisor)
This thesis covers the topic of determination of geographical location of a host in internet network while utilizing measurement of the end to end delay and implementation of Constraint-Based Geolocation. Gradually I go through issue of the delay in computer networks and ways how to measure it. Next chapter describes a few ways to geolocate host in internet network with emphasis on the CBG method. Another chapter is dedicated to describing a way to project spherical coordinates to the two dimensional space, which has been used in implementation of geolocation method. Chapter about implementation builds upon the facts given in previous chapters while functions of the program written in the JAVA programing language are being explained. Two similar geolocation methods were implemented. By comparing the results gained by implementation, new method of geolocation is proposed and devised. It combines properities of both previous methods. There are results of the implemented methods and their comparation to the one of the source documents used in creation of this thesis in summary section.
