Ostrov nad Ohří and Tajanov u Tupadel. On confusions in toponyms
Štěpán, Pavel
The chapter deals with the disunity in naming the individual inhabited localities in Czechia, namely with the cases when the railway station, post office and/or cadastral area has\na name different from the municipality (or municipality part) name. It is noted that especially railway station or post office names are often mistakenly identified with the official standardized municipality names. This may lead to misunderstanding and problems in communication. Removing this disunity is difficult due to considerable fragmentation of powers of the individual authorities responsible for the individual names. The second part of the paper investigates the names of cadastral areas. In some cases, these names differ from the municipality names just because the municipality had been officially renamed, but the corresponding change of the cadastral area name did not take place.
Trends in Access Networks

This work deals with the modern trends in FTTX, but mainly focuses on FTTH, who represents the connecting of fiber to the homes of the participants. Sum up the basic problems of communication on the optical fibre, followed by comparison with other types of access networks. Another part is the analysis of the problems of construction and a description of the optical network topologies and technologies used in FTTH. In following chapter are characterized active and passive elements forming AON and PON networks. Next part deals with the study of the most common services that can be on the optical access network to operate. They are mainly associated with the TriplePlay services. An integral part of the project is the study of management and supervision optical networks. Another part of this thesis is to analyze this methods using own comparsing method and design new dithering algorithm combining their advantages.
Education Computer Program for Demonstration of Colors and Colors Models Principles
Štěpán, Petr ; Jančík, Zdeněk (referee) ; Kršek, Přemysl (advisor)
This thesis describes the principles used when working with color palettes and with the reduction of color space of images in computer graphics. Special attention has been paid to their explanation for educational purposes. It should help even a user not familiar with these algorithms better understand their principles and application. A computer program written in the Java language has been designed to demonstrate and fulfill these goals.

Nováková, Dominika ; Štěpán, Pavel (advisor) ; Martínek, František (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the toponymy of the town of Jičín and aims to take note of the currently used toponyms and to expand the number of anoikonyms compared to the state found in the 1970s. The material of currently used toponyms was obtained by field research and is comprised of both minor place names and place names, mainly focusing on the so-called living names of residential and non-residential objects. The collected data are compared with inventories from the 1970s and an inventory from the 1940s acquired from the local archive. A new inventory was subsequently created from the toponyms in use, which was supplemented with the basic characteristic data of the individual objects. At the same time, the gathered names are analyzed using a semantic classification of V. Šmilauer and also a structural classification of M. Majtán in the practical part. The findings of the field research and the application of the above-mentioned classifications are presented in the conclusion. Keywords: onomastics, toponym, field research, semantic classification, structural classification of toponyms
