The Comparison of the Presidency in the Czech Republic, Germany and Austria.

Annotation: In my Bachelor thesis I compare the roles of Presidents in the political systems of the Czech Republic, Austria and Germany. Despite that fact that all these neighbouring states are culturally linked and all account for parliamentary regimes, the heads of states in these countries carry out their functions in very different manners. The position of the Presidents are in my thesis examined with the help of the Tsebelis's theory of vetoplayers. The aim is to look into the fields of personal policy, foreign policy and legislative process and to ascertain, through the analysis of political and constitutional works, the exact role of the Presidents in these areas. Division in the social-democratic movement in Austria-Hungary in the 80s in the 19th century

This bachelor thesis focuses on the division in the social-democratic movement in Austria- Hungary in the '80s of the 19th century. The programmatic documents of the party are analyzed from the point of view of controversial points of the division. The workers movement was split into groups of moderates and radicals. These groups polemized about tactics, which would lead to the achievement of goals of proletariat. The goals were the same for both groups, change to classless society and collectivization of production. There are programmatic documents putting an end to the division examined as well. First of they are all looked into from the points of view, whether they are closer connected with perspectives of moderates or radicals.
Parties of the Czech euroscepticism. Comparison of Free Citizens Party and Sovereignty - Bloc of Jana Bobošíková

The thesis analyses and compares conception of Euroscepticism in the agendas of two Czech extra-parliamentary political parties: Free Citizens Party and Sovereignty - Bloc of Jana Bobošíková. The aim of this thesis is to characterize sources, roots and manifestations of Euroscepticism in political agendas of both political parties. At first, the thesis defines the origin and roots of contemporary Euroscepticism; afterwards it characterizes the term of the party-based Euroscepticism and presents its main contemporary theoretical approaches dealing with the party Euroscepticism research. For example: the typology by Aleks Szczerbiak and Paul Taggart (authors of the terms Soft and Hard Euroscepticism), enlargement of them by Petr Kopecký and Cas Mudde (enlargement by a positive approach of the parties to EU), standpoint of Italian Nicoló Conti and others. In quest of deepening the analytical part of this thesis discursive analysis methods are used as well. The thesis is also aimed at development and characterization of Euroscepticism in the Czech Republic, and subsequently at the conception of Euroscepticism of the Free Citizens Party and Sovereignty - Bloc of Jana Bobošíková.
A Common European Energy Policy: Perspectives and Limits of Cooperation

A Common European Energy Policy: Perspectives and Limits of Cooperation ABSTRACT (Jiří Kupka) The aim of the work is to assess the prospects and limits of cooperation in the area of European Union Energy Policy and it primarily from the perspective of the Member States. To this purpose, there is a research of an evolution of integration in the energy field (pointed contemporary development - i.e. mainly the last twelve years), approach of the European Commission and in particular there are attitudes and the energy policies of the two EU Member States - France and Germany. The whole work is divided into two main parts - a theoretical section and an empirical analysis. In the first part, the author seeks to define the terms "Energy security" and "Energy Policy" from the perspective of several authors. Subsequently, it is carried out the examination of the development of Energy policy of EU - the European Commission initiatives are researched in particular. Besides, it is examined and evaluated the current status of the implementation of the Union's actions (policy) - especially in area of the individual systems of energy markets of the aforementioned states.
Europeization of ODS and KSČM in the context of the party system of ČR

The thesis aims to analyze and explain the origin, development and manifestations of the process of Europeanization of two players of the Czech party system - the ODS and the KSČM. The thesis starts with a theoretical part, which summarizes the current debate in political science and Europeanization in the context of political parties. The main aim was to trace the changes that were seen among those due to the involvement of political parties in the debate over the meaning of European integration for Czech politics and the practical integration into EU institutions. The basic hypothesis, which is verified, aims to examine the correlation and negativistic relation ODS and KSČM on issues of European integration after twenty years of exposure in the Czech party system. At the same time an analysis of election results mentioned parties to the European Parliament, as well as the method of election campaigns of parties in the same institution. The analytical part of the work analyzes the ODS and KSČM in the line of the general impact of European policies, program outcomes of affected parties, as well as electoral competition in elections to the EP and Czech national assembly. The Impact of the 9/11 Terrorist Attack on the Evolution of EU's Security Policies

The thesis deals with the impact of the 11 September 2001 terrorist attack on the evolution of EU's security policies. The thesis's aim is to investigate whether this event led to tightening of security measures in the European Union as well as to reviewing the existing security policy under the influence of the United States of America. The first section deals with the development of European security institutions before terrorist attack 9/11 and after, with the aim to ellucidate changes at the level of institutions. The second section analyzes individual security policy areas, such as EU's immigration policy, transnational police cooperation and the protection of EU citizens's personal data.
Alfons Šťastný - the Founder of Czech Agrarism

This bachelor thesis wish to examine a political a intellectual activity of Alfons Šťastný (1831-1913), who is best know as on of the founding fathers of the czech agrarian movement in the last decades of 19th century. It focuses on the content of the agragrian political program explicitly formulated by Šťastný and on the rural ideal constituted during 1890s in his own political journal named Selské noviny. Also his political and economic attitudes are comparised with another two agrarian thinkers. Generally is A. Šťastný presented like a political fugure in very specific historical context, when the meaningful social and rural change occured.
