Weight monitoring of older schoolchildren at selected primary schools
MURČO VIRŠÍKOVÁ, Klára
The thesis is focused on monitoring the weight of older schoolchildren in selected schools. Its goal is to evaluate the weights of older schoolchildren at the Elementary School in Lišov and at the Bishop's gymnasium in České Budějovice using percentile graphs. One of the sub-goals is to complete this finding with a survey of knowledge about the principles of rational nutrition. The theoretical part approaches the topic of overweight and obesity in general and specifically in children, as well as the principles of rational nutrition. The practical part focuses on evaluating the weights of the 7th and 9th grade pupils at ZŠ Lišov and 2nd and 4th grade pupils at BiGy. The survey itself took place in selected classes in February 2024. There were 27 pupils in each class. The answers from the knowledge part of the questionnaires are evaluated in the practical part. Questionnaire questions were closed with one correct answer. There were a total of ten questions and they related to knowledge about rational nutrition. The tenth question asked about the sugar content in drinks, and the answers were an example of whether and how carefully the respondents read food and drink labels. Set BMI values were evaluated using percentile graphs. At primary school, the results were worse, where in the 7th grade only 37 % of respondents were in the category with a healthy weight and in the 9th grade even only 30 %. For gymnasium students, it was 59 % in the 2nd and 45 % in the 4th grade, and there was not a single respondent suffering from obesity in any of the classes. Based on the results found, it can be concluded that the pupils at the gymnasium don't have the same problems with overweight and obesity as the pupils at primary school. The biggest difference was noted between the 7th graders and the 2nd graders, when among the gymnasium there was not a single obese student and only one overweight student, while at primary school there were a total of 8 students in these two categories. Only the influence of the attended school on weight and the BMI was proven, while the influence of the pupils' age was not proven. The difference was also visible in the knowledge part of the questionnaire, regarding knowledge about rational nutrition. The knowledge of gymnasium students was 20 % better. At the gymnasium, the pupils had an average of 72 % of the correct answers, and at primary school it was only 52 %.

The aim of the work was to find out which mathematics textbooks are the mostly used by teachers in elementary schools in České Budějovice, how and to what extent teachers use textbooks and how do they evaluate them. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part defines the concept of a textbook, its function, structure, the issue of selection of a textbook and the results of research related to how teachers use textbooks. The practical part is based on a questionnaire survey carried out between teachers of mathematics at the lower-secondary school in Ceske Budejovice. At first, work procedure and the research method are described and then the results of the research are provided. Based on research, the most used textbooks for the sixth grade of elementary school are compared between themselves from the perspective of a novice teacher. As the assignment reveals, this bachelor’s thesis deals with the connection between the art elementary school and the architecture center. These two functions have more in common than they might seem at first glance. Both institutions deal with public education in the field of art, which often does not receive the attention it deserves at state educational institutions. It is not just a connection to a functional unit within one area. Equally important is the connection at the thought and conceptual level. The location in which the project is located is predestined for educational institutions. Located in Olomouc near the historic center and currently in the immediate vicinity of university dormitories, at the same time on the opposite bank of Moravia there is a music elementary school Žerotín with a long tradition. The architectural design works mainly with the extension of ZUŠ to the park through the creation of separate studios. This achieves meeting the special requirements of the studios (drawing, digital painting, sculpture, ...). At the same time, the atmosphere is relaxed compared to the classic location of classrooms inside of single building. The studios are in direct contact with the life taking place in the park. The Architecture Center, on the other hand, takes on the role of the gateway to this art park and provides the technical background for the art school. Inside of the building of the center of architecture there is also a common gallery, cafe, specialized library and a lecture room. The design strives for a decent but strong connection between the center of architecture and the art school. Emphasis is placed especially on the freedom in the creative process of artists, which is why the studios are light wooden buildings with all-glass facades. The center of architecture is, in contrast to the loose settlement of the studio, a solidly set building. It communicates with the surrounding buildings by a uniform facade, which opens towards the park.

The construction system is designed as a prefabricated reinforced concrete skeleton with filling masonry from ceramic blocks to thin-walled masonry mortar. The ceiling construction consists of pre-stressed ceiling panels SPIROLL in combination with reinforced concrete. The staircases connecting the floors are designed in reinforced concrete. Vertical communication between floors will also be made possible by barrier-free passenger lifts.
