Typology of Visual Texts of Czech Experimental Poetry
Hrdinová, Tereza ; Neumann, Lukáš (advisor) ; Smrčka, Jiří (referee)
The bachelor's thesis examines the visual texts of Czech experimental poetry of the 1960s. The main goal of the work is to create a typology of the possibilities of visualizing poetic texts. The intention of the typology is to clarify the material and related terminology. The first chapter of the thesis summarizes the development of the defamiliarization of the visual component of the poetic text in the context of the history of the relationship between image and word and briefly characterizes experimental poetry in the Czech environment in a global context. The second chapter summarizes already existing typologies of experimental texts and explains the criteria by which visual poems can be classified. We came to the conclusion that in order to make the material clearer, it is necessary to sort the texts according to more than just one already existing criterion. We classify the texts in terms of the method of creation and the author's intention. The second chapter also contains the typology itself - visual poems are classified into seven types: Statistical text, Structural text, Topological text, Narrative poem, Colour poem, Obfuscation of the Readable and Overlapping. The work tries to describe various techniques of creating visual poems. Therefore, it focuses mainly on the description of the way...
Biblioverse - Multifunctional building with library

This diploma thesis, first of all, design a typology of users of psychedelics with regard to their motivation and patterns of use, in order to minimize risks, support the regulated clinical administration of psychedelics for therapeutic purposes and improve public health. In the second place, it also collect current data on the use of psychedelics in the EU and European legislation on the use of narcotics and psychotropic substances. Data were collected from structured questionnaires from 2019, which were filled by 890 users of psychedelics in the Czech Republic. For the analysis of the answers, a cluster analysis of the data performed using the Ward method was used, exclusively on the basis of questions concerning the frequency of use in the previous year. In accordance with the results of the cluster analysis, a typology of users of psychoactive substances is subsequently proposed, which consist of 6 groups. It was found that the motivation of use is most influenced by level of information, setting and possibility of processing the experience. On this basis, 4 recommendations are formulated for minimizing the risks of psychedelic substance use – sufficient education, providing a protected and controlled environment for therapeutic use, decriminalizing the use of psychedelic substances and reviewing the pharmacological classification of substances.

This thesis is focused on alternative forms of living (caravans, boats, houseboats, yurts, tiny houses, and others specified by high mobility and small space) in the context of the recent crisis. These forms of living can be an answer to social, political, and economical situations. This theme is not only about the recent housing crisis, but also about the housing process and the concept of "home". This thesis, based on half-structured interviews which were completed with additional secondary sources, tries to find an understanding of the given choices and look for similarities and differences in the deeper relations of inhabitants to their own form of housing, which are tied to specific motivations, choices, home enjoyment, but also to problems which the specific form has. The diverse relations to housing are the core of this thesis - to create a typology of citizens who use alternative forms of living. Types like old-school, adventurer, pragmatic, planter and bohemian were created due to the interpretation of found data and are representatives of different approaches to the concept of home, but also to oneself and to the world. Failed Municipalities in the Czech Republic
Hornek, Jakub ; Jüptner, Petr (advisor)
The presented dissertation thesis deals with endangered municipalities, where a specific threat to the municipality can potentially lead to the extinction of self-government. The phenomenon of endangered municipalities has not been comprehensively investigated within the framework of political science even though it is part of the issue of the functioning of the democratic process at the local level. Research on endangered municipalities has been fragmented across individual scientific disciplines, which view the problem through their own prism. The dissertation thesis seeks to contribute to the opening of a necessary discussion that should not remain aloof from political science. The thesis first examines the European context, which is crucial for the actual identification of different types of threats to municipalities. Five types of threats to the European municipalities have been identified. Individual types of threats have been described and possible threat scenarios created. Empirical examples have also been provided for each threat, based on which terminology has been proposed that can be used in political science to examine municipalities in trouble. The terminology has been used to systematize possible variants of municipal threats, and individual threats have been assigned to the...

The Roles of Foreign Fighters in Insurgencies: A Typology
Klein, Gabriel ; Aslan, Emil (advisor) ; Laryš, Martin (referee)
The master's thesis deals with the phenomenon of foreign fighters primarily represented by contemporary jihadists. The author explores the insufficiently researched issue of participation of jihadist foreign fighters in insurgencies regarding their roles and activities in conflict zones. First, the author reviews the available academic literature on the concept of foreign fighters focusing on key definitions. Subsequently, the academic literature on seven most significant jihadist foreign-fighter mobilisations, Afghanistan (1980-1992), Bosnia (1992-1995), Somalia (1993-present), Chechnya (1994-2009), Afghanistan (2001-present), Iraq (2003-present), and Syria (2011-present), is analysed to identify patterns of similarity and difference in the jihadist foreign fighters' roles and activities. The author then introduces five distinct types of jihadist foreign fighters: 1) military and ideological leaders, field commanders; 2) foot soldiers; 3) suicide attackers; 4) support personnel; and 5) jihadist brides/wives. Each type is characterised based on the empirical evidence from the seven abovementioned cases of jihadist foreign-fighter mobilisations.
