Influence of Fungicide Thiram on Chlorophyll Content and on the Growth of Garden Strawberry (Fragaria Annanasa)
Jakl, M. ; Jaklová Dytrtová, Jana ; Navrátil, Tomáš ; Marková, A.
Thiram is a relatively frequently used fungicide in agriculture and gardening. However, its behavior in environmental systems has not been elucidated in detail up to now. The effect of thiram presence in three different soil types on the yield and chlorophyll contents in garden strawberry plantation was investigated. It is possible to conclude that its presence in soil significantly increased the chlorophyll a and b contents in slightly acidic soil from Humpolec location. The changes of investigated parameters could be ascribed to supported mobilization of Mg, acting together with other nutrients mobilized in low pH of soils. The yield decreased addition in all tested soil types under thiram application.
Voltammetric Determination of Diafenthiurone Using Carbon Paste Electrode
Markvart, Jan ; Barek, Jiří (advisor) ; Zima, Jiří (referee)
In this bachelor thesis voltammetric behavior of Diafenthiuron using carbon paste electrode was investigated. Methodes used in this thesis were differential pulse voltammetry, cyclic voltammetry and DC voltammetry. Britton-Robinson buffer of optimal pH in mixture with methanol was used as a base electrolyte. Optimal pH of Britton-Robinson buffer was pH 3 for DC voltammetry and cyclic voltammetry and pH 5 for differential pulse voltammetry. Under optimal conditions limit of detection and limit of quantification for differential pulse voltammetry and DC voltammetry in 50% methanol were estimated. For differential pulse voltammetry detection limit was found to be 1,5* 10-5 mol/l and quantification limit was found to be 5* 10-5 mol/l. For DC voltammetry the detection limit was 1,7* 10-5 mol/l and quantification limit was 5,8* 10-5 mol/l.
Study of inclusion complexes of pesticides with cucurbiturils
Smitka, Jaroslav ; Tesařová, Eva (advisor) ; Šteflová, Jana (referee)
In this work we report the formation of inclusion complexes of the pesticides 1-naphthylacetic acid, 1-naphthylacetamide, napropamide and carbaryl with cucurbit[n]uril (n=7 and 8) and -cyclodextrin hosts. We also report results of the photochemistry of these compounds when free in aqueous solution and included within these nano-containers. The formation of inclusion complexes was studied by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) which gave us information about stoichiometry of the complexes and about their reactivity in the gas phase. The photodecomposition and formation of products was followed by high performance liquid chromatography coupled to both mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS) and UV/VIS detector, and spectrophotometry. The studied CBs and their host-guest complexes were readily detected in the gas phase by ESI-MS, mainly as single and double charged ions containing either H+ , Na+ or K+ . The assignments were made based on the m/z values of the observed signals and further confirmed by fragmentation (tandem mass spectrometry - MSn ). All pesticides formed 1:1 (host:guest) complexes. Carbaryl, napropamide and 1-naphthylacetamide also formed 1:2 (host:guest) complexes. Under some solution chemistry conditions, namely for concentrations of cucurbiturils above 50 µM and at low acid and...
Basic haematological parameters and their influencing by pollutants in common carp a review
POLANSKÁ, Daniela
The objective of this study was to describe the methods of determining the main haematological parameters and obtain as much information as possible about pollutants that may influence them. The subject of this thesis is the common carp (Cyprinus carpio L.). As far as pollutants are concerned, I focused on nitrogen compounds (ammonia, nitrite and cyanide), metals (Zn, Cu, Fe), heavy metals (Hg, Cd, Pb, Cr), petroleum substances, pesticides (organophosphates, triazines and diazines, pyrethroids), pharmaceuticals and natural supplements and persistent organic pollutants. Collected information imply that heavy metals and pesticides have the most important effect on haematological parameters of the common carp. Heavy metals cause changes in haematological parameters and cell anomalies and pesticides may cause haematopoietic failure, which especially means a decrease of number of red blood cells, the concentration of haemoglobin, the haematocrit value and the changes in the presence of different leukocyte forms. This study summarizes the knowledge of the effects of the aforementioned pollutants and highlights the danger of their effect as well as the possible threat to fish health, not just of the common carp. The information dealing with the effects of many pollutants on the blood parameters of fish is missing in available scientific literature.
Sublethal effect of agrochemicals on \kur{Pardosa} sp.
KRIŠTOFOVÁ, Lucie
In the last decades, there has been a growing interest in studying particular those arthropods who have an important role in agroecosystems. For example, they are natural enemies of pests and therefore they are considered to be beneficial organisms. However, these beneficial arthropods may be negatively affected by the application of chemicals under the management of agroecosystems and their potential to inhibit pests can be significantly reduced. Such organisms certainly include spiders which occure in abundant numbers practically in all types of terrestrial habitats including agricultural ecosystems where they have a role of very important predators. Therefore, the thesis focused on current issues of pesticides, especially from the view of their negative effects on behavioral modification of beneficial invertebrate organisms in agricultural crops. The theoretical part is devoted to a brief characteristics of pesticides, their sublethal effects on non-target organisms and the importance of spiders as natural regulators of pests in agroecosystems. The practical part describes the experiment whereconventionally used agrochemicals were tested the influence of the herbicide and desiccant Basta 15, the Arrest preparation and their combination (mixture Basta 15 + Arrest) on spiders genus Pardosa. I focused on the side effects of these solutions, specifically on the modification of predatory behavior and on the mortality of spiders. It has been shown that agrochemicals affect the predation successfulness of spiders. From the short term and the long term point of view, it has been shown that spiders treated with the tested preparations killed less prey than the individuals in the control group which were treated only with distilled water. The dependence of mortality and the number of killed prey on the size and sex has not been proved. Preparations Basta 15 and the mixture caused significantly higher mortality of spiders. The Arrest preparation did not increase the mortality.
