Novák, Tomáš ; Wohlmuth Markupová, Jana (advisor) ; Mücke, Pavel (referee)
My thesis deals with the history of the Mountain Rescue in the Beskydy. Its activity is incorporated into a broader perspective of the history of the Mountain Rescue in the Czech Republic. The thesis brings insight into the personal and professional lives of mountain rescue workers and describes the mutual interconnection of these areas. It investigates the personal motivation for participating in the organisation's operation. Based on memories of witnesses from the era of their service, the research describes milestones in the operation of the Mountain Rescue. The main research method was oral history. Narrators were selected so that their depictions provided the most complex view of the problem analysed. They are represented by both the volunteers and professional members from six districts of the Beskydy region. Their memories cover the period since 1966 until the present day.

Milevsko. Its history, personalities and historical monuments
DVOŘÁKOVÁ, Lenka
The diploma thesis, entitled ?Milevsko. Its history, personalities and historical monuments?, is concerned with a South Bohemian town situated between Tábor and Písek, which is, unfortunately, quite neglected. It outlines the history of Milevsko from prehistory up to the present with respect to the latest research. More attention is paid to the foundation of Milevsko in the twelfth century and the Premonstratensian Monastery because it?s a national cultural monument which has a great importance for the town. The Thesis includes even other historical monuments and attractions which deserve attention. All accessible information about their origin, development, present condition and purpose are compiled in appropriate passages. Both cultural heritage of the town and contemporary relationship of town representatives to this heritage and their effort to restore and preserve it is presented on the basis of bibliography. The other part of the Thesis deals with famous and, till this time, not so famous personalities from this region. Information is obtained from witnesses to history and thanks to their witness it was possible to get less known or unpublished information. More attention was paid to famous personalities, with no monographs so far, because their benefit and importance in various fields are necessary to present and highlight.

ŠTUDLAR, Pavel
The thesis targets at events which took place in the town of Prachatice and its surroundings at the end of the Second World War. It is based on written sources (filed in the State District Archives Prachatice), as well as on literature sources focusing on this topic and eyewitness memories. The first part presents a brief characterization of the town from geographical, social and economic point of view. The second chapter deals with events taking place in September 1938 when Prachatice was occupied by Nazi Germans. The third part shortly depicts the process of front war situations in Europe. The main part of the thesis consists of chapter 4 and 5 which present the way of living and events happening in the town from January 1945 to May 1945 when Prachatice was liberated by the US army. The thesis aims to connect general relations with events that happened in Prachatice and its surroundings not only to illustrate the topic from literature sources but also from people{\crq}s own memories. It tends to depict this period full of worries and hope. It is hoped to contribute to completion of the town history.
