Survey and Diagnostics of Building Construction
Řezáč, David ; Heřmánková, Věra (referee) ; Anton, Ondřej (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the construction and technical survey of a reinforced concrete structure. The theoretical part describes the tested properties of concrete and the methodology of their tests used in the practical part. The practical part is devoted to the diagnosis of the existing structure, which was determined the strength of concrete using core holes, concrete adhesion by tear tests, and reinforcement of reinforced concrete elements of the structure determined by ground-penetrating radar, electromagnetic indicators and additional chopped probes.
Use of thermographic methods for diagnostics of concrete bridges
Janků, Michal ; Hobst, Leonard (referee) ; Matula, Radek (referee) ; Cikrle, Petr (advisor)
This dissertation is focused on the research of the applicability of the thermographic method in the diagnosis of concrete bridges in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part characterizes selected defects of concrete structures and the principle of their detection. The practical part describes the measurements made in the laboratory on the test specimen and the field on the concrete bridge. Most attention is paid to infrared thermography, ground-penetrating radar and ultrasonic pulse-echo method. Based on the results of the dissertation, recommendations for the use of the thermographic test method in practice were developed.
Survey and Diagnostics of Building Construction
Bernard, Lukáš ; Heřmánková, Věra (referee) ; Anton, Ondřej (advisor)
This thesis deals with a diagnostic survey of a reinforced concrete frame. The first part of the thesis focuses on the properties of the reinforced concrete as well as on the detection of the reinforced concrete’s properties using selected non-destructive methods, semi-destructive methods and destructive methods. The second part of the thesis, which is closely related to the first part, focuses on detection of piles’ and beams’ reinforcement using an electromagnetic indicator Profometer PM-630, Ground-penetrating radar Hilti PS 1000 and chopped probes. It also focuses on determining the compressive strength of the concrete using the ultrasonic impulse method of the Pundit PL-200 machine. The results are further specified by the cores description.
Survey and Diagnostics of Reinforced Concrete Structure
Bernard, Lukáš ; Heřmánková, Věra (referee) ; Anton, Ondřej (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with construction and technological survey of the reinforced concrete structure. The first part of the diploma thesis deals with the properties of the reinforced concrete and with the building survey methods applied in the second part of the thesis. The second part of the diploma thesis focuses on diagnostics of existing structure. More specifically, the hardness of the concrete is tested using a Schmidt hammer and then it is further specified by testing the cores. The reinforcement in the reinforced concrete is also tested using electromagnetic indicator, ground-penetrating radar, and chopped probes. Lastly, a static assessment of the selected girder and column is conducted.
The variability of soil organic carbon pool and the potential of ground penetrating radar in its estimating
Zajícová, Kateřina
In the context of ongoing climate change, more attention is being given to soil and its organic carbon pool. This is because soil could partially compensate for the increasing amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere or, on the other hand, be a vast pool of carbon dioxide if organic matter stored in soil mineralizes. Therefore, the precision of soil organic carbon pool estimation, development of monitoring methods, and revelation of factors controlling the pool have been more and more focused on by soil scientists. Conventional soil sampling for soil organic carbon pool estimation and modelling includes manual sampling, measuring forest floor depth and bulk density, and taking soil samples for carbon concentration analysis. These are time and labour demanding. Therefore, there is an effort to develop precise models predicting the carbon pool based on its driving factors that would limit the amount of fieldwork. The models often use remote sensing data, and, in addition, there is an effort to estimate soil organic carbon concentration from soil spectral characteristics. Nevertheless, another variable needed to estimate the organic carbon pool is the thickness of the soil profile or individual soil horizons. The thickness can hardly be determined from remote sensing data, so it has to be measured...

Non-destructive survey of the oldest part of the castle in Telč
Drdácký, Miloš ; Eisler, Marek ; Lesák, Jaroslav ; Válek, Jan ; Skružná, Olga
Recent archaeological findings discovered at an excavation in the southeastern section of the small courtyard of the old palace at the state castle in Telč sparked interest in further exploring hidden structures below ground and within the existing masonry. Therefore, a non-destructive survey of structures hidden beneath the current level of the courtyard using ground-penetrating radar was conducted, as was a survey of the masonry within the old walls of the palace using thermography.
