Food industry in the Czech Republic and abroad

The topic of this thesis is Food Law in the Czech Republic and Abroad. The purpose of the thesis is to introduce food law of the Czech Republic and England, with an emphasis on EU food law. As this field is very broad, only basic attributes and some interesting parts and issues of food law may be covered. The thesis is divided into seven chapters. In the first chapter relevant legal sources are introduced. Food law is regulated by many rules. Generally, these sources may be divided into primary and secondary legislation both at national and EU level. Furthermore, some important international aspects of food law are laid down as well. The second chapter simply is to present legal definitions of essential terms within the scope of Czech and EU law. The third chapter is crucial one for following chapters as it establishes most of general principles in environmental law as well as principles specifically applicable in the field of food law. It is often referred to these principles later in the thesis. Furthermore, this chapter also contains an introduction of the European Safety Food Authority and the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed as well as many ways of national control of food safety. Selected problems of food legislation in Czech Republic

This diploma thesis was about problems of food law in Czech Republic. The aim of this diploma thesis was finding opinion and attitudes of Czech consumers and finding out how works supervisory authority in this part of food law (mass caterers). In the theoretical part was explained who is consumer and how is consumer protection in Czech Republic. There was described actual wording of food law legislation and supervisory authorities. In work was analyzed statistics. Practical part of this diploma thesis was divided into two parts. First part was focused on consumers. There was an online survey. This research investigated if consumers were interested in modern trends in catering. How often they eat out of home. Whether consumers know a supervisory authorities in Czech food law. If they know project Potraviny na pranýři. Second part was focused on supervisory authorities and mass caterers. There were in-depth controlled interviews with supervisory authorities like SVS, SZPI, KHS. For finding the opinions of all the were in-depth controlled interviews with representatives of school cafeteria, restaurant and coffee house. Based on the results obtained by this research, there were recommended three suggestions for improvement.

Anglický abstrakt The Food Law in the Czech Republic and in Foreign Countries The purpose of my thesis is to analyse and characterise the food law in the Czech Republic and in selected foreign countries. The thesis focuses on providing comprehensive view of the general part of food law but also discusses selected aspects of food law and related issues. The reason for my thesis is my long-term interest in the field of human nutrition. Therefore I intended to gain some knowledge of the legal framework of food. My thesis is based on the aproach of analysis and synthesis. I also use the linguistic, logical and historical method in my thesis. The comparative method is used in the two last chapters (Chapter Twelve and Thirteen) which deal with the comparison of food law in the Czech Republic and selected countries. The text of my thesis is divided into chapters, subchapters and parts. The thesis is composed of fourteen chapters (including Preface - Chapter One, Introduction - Chapter Two and Conclusions - Chapter Fourteen). Food labeling

The main aim of my thesis is to introduce and analyze the legal field of food labeling. The topic is really current, because the fundamental laws governing the matter, ie. The Act no. 110/1997 Coll. and Regulation no. 1169/2011, were recently revised. This thesis is divided into six parts, which are focused on the main principles and rules of this legal area, sources of law, mandatory and voluntary food labels, a remote sale of food and brands of food quality. At the end of my thesis I summarize the pros and cons of the new legislation and I think about possible amendments, which could be beneficial for both consumers and food business operators.

This bachelor thesis deals with EU Food Law. The aim of this work is to create a comprehensive synopsis of legal basis of the Food Law and to introduce this theme in more detail to the reader. The first chapter addresses both primary and secondary EU Law in the field of Food Law. The second chapter is about the transposition of the Community law to Czech legal system and the third chapter discusses sanctions for a breach of the Food Law in the Czech Republic and Spain.
Consumer protection in the food supplements area

The topic of this diploma thesis is the Consumer protection in the food supplements area. The work has been devided into three parts. The first part is devoted to the overview about categorization of the products with the impact on health. This part of this work also includes the elementary terms, which are: food, food supplements, medicinal products, cosmetics products and medical devices. The second chapter is devoted to the matter of food supplements as such. The third chapter deals with the terms health and nutrition claims. The last chapter includes the survey between the consumers of the food suplements and also the survey between the pharmacies.
Food Legislation in EU and The Czech Republic in Years 1990 - 2009

This thesis is focued on the food legislation isme in the CR and the EU in the period 1990-2009. First part deals with food legislation in the form of technical standards. Second part shows the development of food legislation in the CR before accessio to the EU and summarizes the main legal provisions relating to the food. The next section describes the EU food laws and shows the implementation of EU regulations and directives into the Czech legislation after accession to the EU. Systems authorities supervising food safety are reported. Last section is devoted to current food legislation.
