Engagement of the EU into the Enforcement of Fair Trade Principles

The theme of this bachelor thesis is the Engagement of the EU into the enforcement of Fair Trade principles. Its objective is to characterize the approach of the European Union and selected member states to the issue of Fair Trade with third countries and to identify how their attitudes project to the European policy and legislation. The first part is concerned by the general problems of the developing countries and their role in the world trade since 16th century. The second part focuses on the general characteristics of Fair Trade, its major principles, history and also its organisational structure. Fair Trade and the European Union is the theme of the third, key section of this paper. In this part, the approach of the whole European Union and the selected member countries ? such as France, Great Britain, Czech Republic and Greece, to the Fair Trade is analysed and compared here. This thesis facilitates to provide the complex view of the European Union to the Fair Trade and to approximate this concept to the wider public.
Develoment of the Fair Trade concept in Czech republic and its future

The main goal of the Fair Trade movemement is poverty reduction based on equal trade partnership. The alternative trade methods appeared as a reaction on the market failure and increasing consumer interest in working conditions in developing countries. Nowadays the sales and awareness of the population are significantly increasing and new markets are emerging the region of Central and Eastern Europe. In Czech republic the most significant position have coffee, cocoa and tea. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the potencial of Fair Trade products on the Czech market based on comparison with the development in Austria, Germany and Great Britain and describe trends which might be expected in this segment.
Importance of the concept - Fair Trade for developing countries

In this Bachelor thesis, I describe the formation and origin of the Fair Trade movement, way in which it operates, aspects which it brings on the market and the basic characteristics of trade with the most important Fairtrade commodities. Firstly, I focus on the general identification of kinds of products included in Fair Trade and afterwards I characterize the fair trading of four most significant crops among all: coffee, bananas, cocoa and cotton. Objective of the thesis is above all to create an image defining the present situation at three different Fair Trade markets: in the United Kingdom, Czech Republic and Slovakia. From the general outline of success of the movement in the world I continue with deeper detailing of above mentioned markets. From this definition I deduce particularities of Fair Trade performance in each country. Furthermore, I analyze the causes of the exact situation on every market. From the discovered indications I evaluate, if further development of the concept on those markets would be meaningful also in the future and what should be improved for its better effectiveness. In conclusion I briefly analyze the general conditions needed for successful implementation of Fair Trade.
Development of trading with fair trade products in the world

The main goal of this thesis is to analyze situation on the fair trade market in the world. A concept of fair trade is introduced in the first chapter and briefly is here outlined the situation in the developing regions of the world. The second chapter describes the goals and principles of fair trade. The third chapter focuses on its historical development. The main international fair trade organizations are introduced in the fourth chapter and the main fair trade importing organizations are introduced in the fifth chapter. The trade with fair trade products is described in the sixth chapter. The last chapter is focused on campaigns to promote fair trade.

The main goal of the thesis was an analysis of the current situation in the international market place. In particular, the situation of developing countries. What kind of help is provided to them by the other countries and especially what extant of participation has Czech republic in Fair Trade. There was studied what influence is the liberalization of international trade on developing countries. In the second part of thesis were czech towns and retail shops studied via questionnaire in order to find out what awareness have czech consumers about Fair Trade.
Consumer Behaviour Analysis in the field of Fair Trade products

The topic of this bachelor thesis is analysis of consumer behaviour in the field of Fair Trade products in the Czech Republic. It investigates the extent of awareness of consumers about Fair Trade products and analyzes purchase behaviour in this area of Supply which is dependant on the age of consumers. Younger generation is more aware of such designated products, however, doesn{\crq}t buy them up to such extent like the elder generation. Further it strives to point at the fact that consumers are not sufficiently informed about Fair Trade and about its goals. Therefore products are not being bought in such extent. At the same time the thesis brings information that Fair Trade products are bought namely due to help to other people. It also solves type questions: "What products are bought the most?", "Where products are bought the most?" or "Are the consumers satisfied with them?". Finally the thesis deals with suggestions for improvement of current status which dominates in the Czech Republic.
Ethic status of personal consumption

The aim of my Bachelor thesis is a list of certificates that will help people to select and promote manufacturers and traders who behave sensitively towards the environment, animals and people. The theoretical section of my work contains various sources of information about reducing personal consumption, about organic food, fair trade and ethical personal consumption in terms of reducing the negative impact of excessive consumption on the environment. In the practical part of my work I have sorted collected certificates into groups for better consumer understanding and created learning material for students who are specialised in Education for health and other people who are interested in this field. I assessed the extent and quality of the services offered by two information centres. My data were obtained by an analysis method and a synthetic method, and also by a directed interview. Both research questions were confirmed.
Social - economy Function of Business on the Market of EU

My thesis deals with the problems of the Fair Trade business not only on the market of the European Union but it deals with these problems on the market of the Czech republic. The preface deals with the question {\clqq} why did I choose this theme``. The Fair Trade is good exaple and hits off the subjekt of my work. The second part of my thesis is concentrated on the importance and the function of the business from the theoretical standpoint. First of all I define advantages of business and then I put it together with the determinated functions from the economic aspects.The third part of my thesis describes methods, that was used to achieve the determination aims of my thesis.I determined the social {--} economic function and the consequence of the Fair Trade business. The fourth part is the analytical part of my thesis. There is the analysis of the environment of the Fair trade in the teritory of the Czech Republic in the frame of the providing of services and a acquaintanceship this brend in our republic, because the Fair Trade is there still almost unknown and there aren´t datas of researches.The last part of my thesis contains the summary and the betterment this problems.
Fair Trade as a Form of Aid to the Third World

The work describes Fair Trade organization that focuses on the aid to the Third World. The first chapter deals with free trade, which is a source of unfair trade practices. The next chapter presents the projects attempting to change this injustice. One project is supported by the UN, and one by the Czech Republic. The third chapter is devoted to the history, goals and features of Fair Trade. The next subchapter introduces the most often traded commodities such as coffee, tea, chocolate, rice and wine. The operation of Fair Trade both abroad and in the Czech Republic is described as well. This part also mentions another important subject {--} manufactures called sweatshops, where people are being enslaved. There are produced goods of luxury marks that are also sold in our shops. The last chapter concerns with the Excellent Plzeň Ltd Company, which sells goods of Fair Trade. And finally the chapter ends with the interview with Lenka Černá M.A, the founder of this company.
