Repertoire of demonstrations, experiments and practices focused on biology of water invertebrates in the work of a primary- and grammar school teacher
MATOUŠKOVÁ, Jitka
The thesis analyses how often the teachers in primary schools and in lower classes of multi-year grammar schools integrate practical exercises and experiments into the biology lessons in the issue of water invertebrates. A proposal of laboratory and field practices has also been created and carried out in the school practice in pursuance of water invertebrates with the use of stimulating educational methods, so called Inquiry-based science education.
The Antisocial Punishment Evolution
Schejbal, Martin ; Hudík, Marek (advisor) ; Mirvald, Michal (referee)
This work statistically analyses hypotheses about the presence of antisocial punishment in study of economic experiments. Analysed data source is author's own ABM simulation of antisocial punishment environment. Tested hypotheses and ABM simulations are evolutionary oriented. This represents natural selection of evolving agents (and their groups) interacting with one another. Work is divided by two independent parts of presumptions. Crucial hypothesis of the first part is evolutional advantage from retaliatory punishment, the second part tests hypotheses of evolutional benefits resulting from group selection. Findings of the analysis allow us to accept these crucial hypothesis, and it may be concluded, that antisocial punishment can be regard as an evolutionary advantage, which directly advantages individuals, as well as whole groups.
Application of ICT for Cognitive Functions Support
Šuchman, Ondřej ; Pstružina, Karel (advisor) ; Kulišťák, Petr (referee)
Performance of cognitive abilities, like attention, memory, language and speech, planning, decision making or logical thinking, is the basic assumption for quality of life. There are many ways how to keep and improve them. This thesis deals with connection of information technologies and cognitive sciences with focus on memory support. At the beginning there is introduced an aim of thesis in detail, in the next chapter there are described memory systems and other cognitive functions. Third chapter is focused on short introduction of brain structures, neurotransmitters affecting memory activities and imaging methods that serve for observing memory activities. In the forth chapter there are described the most common memory deficits. In the fifth part there is description of several computer programs currently used for cognitive functions support. Within the scope of practical part there was tested one software from fifth chapter with focus on memory abilities of researched sample. The results of conducted experiment are described in detail at the very end of this thesis.
Travel Behaviour Modelling Using Choice Experiment Method
Šilerová, Markéta ; Melichar, Jan (advisor) ; Kaprová, Kateřina (referee)
This diploma thesis is concerned with the use of the choice experiment method for modelling travel behaviour. The main scope of this diploma thesis is to find the main attributes for the individual's decision making about the student's choice of mean of transport. The models have been applied to long intercity trips between Prague and Brno. The model specification combines trip-based characteristics with socioeconomic characteristics. There are numerous European and US studies which have been conducted in a national context. In recent years, studies have been implemented also in the Czech Republic, but none of them focus on the specific segment of students. The principles of the choice experiment come out from the Lancaster' characteristics theory of value and random utility theory. The multinominal logit is used to the choice experiment analysis.
Chemical weapons experiments on humans
MLEJNEK, Miroslav
Chemical weapons are justly considered by the human society as the oldest type of weapons of mass destruction. Unfortunately the same human society has continued to apply and further develop the ancient principles of use of combat chemical substances. The current world, despite all the humanistic efforts to terminate the history of this type of weapons, continues to be physically threatened by their abuse. I must say that studies of the history of chemical weapons are very demanding and comprehensive. The whole process of historic development of these combat means is interconnected by multiple relations and circumstances and unfortunately has been the source of a lot of inconceivable human suffering. That is why I decided to take the courage and thread the path leading to a look back at the past, for I believe that such a retrospective not only reveals stories that are already buried in the distant past and are not needed any more, but also leads to understanding the present, learning a lesson from past mistakes and acquiring a humble approach to life. On the basis of studies of the many available resources I tried to submit in my diploma thesis a complex summary of current as well as historic knowledge of combat chemical substances, their research and testing on humans. While the issue of chemical weapons and wars as such is paid a lot of attention, the issue of chemical weapon testing on people has still been a marginal theme. The abovementioned facts inspired this thesis and I believe that my diploma theses might be beneficial for its readers. My greatest desire and aim was to present to the readers the historic path of application and the related research and testing of chemical weapons. I hope I have processed the theme to be better understandable to the reader, both professional and lay. I tried to proceed systematically and make my thesis interesting to enrich not only me but also its readers.
Experiments with double oscillator with soft impacts
Kocanda, Lubomír ; Peterka, František
Results of the experimental investigation of a double-impact oscillator model and comparison of differences in measurement approaches of systems with rigid and soft impact are presented. The sensitivity of initial conditions for the particular motion of these systems is high, especially when soft impacts are included. Several points worth mentioning and having in mind during the measurement.

Eutrophication of water - application of method of selective experiment in the case of Macha's Lake
Predmetom práce bolo podať komplexný prehľad dostupných informácií týkajúcich sa conjoint analýzy počínajúc historickými dôvodmi jej vzniku, vývoja a končiac podrobným návrhom experimentu.
