The Use of Biomechanics as Supporting Argumentation for Expert Opinion Conclusions
Veselý, Vratislav ; Ravnik, David (advisor) ; Maršík, František (referee) ; Horák, Zdeněk (referee)
of the dissertaton Title: The use of biomechanics as a supportng argumentaton for the conclusions of expert opinions Auhtor: Ing. Vratslav Veselý, MBA Keywords: trafc accident, mechanism of injury, head injury, pedestrian, car windscreen, head impact velocity, deformaton zones The aim of this dissertaton is to map the mechanical propertes of the bones of the face and skull from the available literature and to describe the mechanisms of brain and cervical spine injuries. The descripton of these mechanisms contributes to the elucidaton of the origin of injuries from a purely mechanical/biomechanical perspectve, and in forensic practce contributes to the understanding of the situaton by other engineering professions not involved in forensic medicine. The strength and stfness parameters of the bones of the face and skull are used to determine the magnitude, directon and locaton of possible forces for fracture formaton, etc. Another objectve is to propose and describe a simple analytcal approach for determining the velocity of the head when striking the windshield of an automobile. To address the dependence of head impact velocity and car speed, and the efect of windscreen tlt. Using experimental testng, to describe the defects produced on the windscreen of a car afer a crash of...
Safety inspections of selected localities in the Moravian-Silesian Region
Jalůvková, Denisa ; Slavíček, Michal (referee) ; Matuszková, Radka (advisor)
This diploma thesis presents safety inspection in selected localities in the Moravian-Silesian Region. Ten sections and ten intersections from rural area were selected for an accident rate analysis at first. These locations were compared on the basis of accident rate analysis and accident indicators. After that, were selected three sections and three intersections for a safety inspection. The safety inspection included a visual inspection and risk identification. For all identified risks were proposed a possible solutions.
Study of Speedometer's Hand Behaviour by Traffic Accident
Polnický, Václav ; Sojka, Jiří (referee) ; Semela, Marek (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the ability to determine impact speed of vehicles in traffic accidents. Thesis tries to find out whether jammed needle of speedometer and tachometer, as well as needle's imprint, could provide relevant informations for traffic accident analysis. The outcome is formulation, whether these informations are trustworthy, or under which circumstances are valid.
Selected Measurements of the Motion of Bicycles - Travelling Around Bends, Transverse Movement
Křenek, Jan ; Krejsa, Ivan (referee) ; Semela, Marek (advisor)
Diploma work named Selected measurements of motion of bicycles starts with history and development of bicycle. There are components of bicycles described and analysis accidents with cyclist. There is a goal organise and realize measurement of ride in the curve and tranverse movement. The outputs are going to be use by experts in sphere of transport accident analysis. There will be exists data analysis then starts maeasurement. After then compile sources from measurement – break testing, ride in the curve testing and tranverse movement on the most frequently road surfaces with part of enaugh cyclist and bycicles. The end of work is already existing data with hold of measurement data comparison.
Selected Methods of Improvement for the Driver's Orientation on the Roads
Černoch, Adam ; Valentová, Veronika (referee) ; Frič, Jindřich (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to find suitable measures which will lead to the improvement of driver orientation in traffic spaceleading to lower the accident rate in the area. The theoretical part describes the traffic surveys that relate to the topic. Furthermore, the work mentioned detectors used for the implementation of automated traffic surveys. The theoretical part also describes methods that can be used to analyze the selected location and then design the ideal modification. At the end gives an overview of the various measures. In the practical part are different methodologies used for the analysis of selected intersections. Firstly, the analysis of observed conflict situations, including making conflicting diagram, under which was designed to measure. Then, the analysis of traffic accidents. Again, the result was a proposal for possible actions. The main objective was to compare and appreciation of both methodologies and proces design measures to improve driver orientation in the selected location.
Evaluation of fatal traffic accidents
Nekulová, Pavla ; Dašková, Jaroslava (referee) ; Kudrna, Jan (advisor)
The aim of bachelor’s thesis is the evaluation of the influence of variable surface characteristics of roadways (skid resistance and longitudinal unevenness) on fatal traffic accidents in The South Moravian Region in 2011. This bachelor’s thesis contains characteristics of chosen high accident locations and measurement results of the longitudinal friction coefficient and longitudinal unevenness of road surface.
The Issue of the Competence of Drivers of Motor Vehicles to Drive on the Roads of the Czech Republic
Chodurová, Zuzana ; Kudláček, Jaroslav (referee) ; Vémola, Aleš (advisor)
The theme of this master’s thesis is The Issue of the Competence of Drivers of Motor Vehicles to Drive on the Roads of the Czech Republic. It includes an analysis of the current state legislative requirements for obtaining professional qualifications of drivers in the Czech Republic and in neighboring states and comparison of selected specifics of the issue. An analysis was made of traffic accidents in the Czech Republic and comparison of basic indicators of accidents with neighboring states. Based on the analysis of the current state, then the practical part includes a questionnaire survey and suggestion of measures for improving road safety.
Analysis of the Speed of Cyclists Aged from 4 to 10 Years
Skanderová, Valentýna ; Semela, Marek (referee) ; Bradáč, Albert (advisor)
The diploma thesis Cyclists speed analysis at the age bracket of 4 to 10 deals with history and origin of bicycle, description and types of the contruction of bicycles for children at the age bracket mentioned above. The thesis includes the statistics of accidents involving cyclists and regulations providing for the ride on a bicycle on a carriageway. The practical part includes measuring cyclists speed when passing a measured section and the analysis of these data. The analysis of data is processed in terms of gear systems as the equipment. Complementary measuring was made in a slight rising. In the second part of the practical part is measured braking of cyclists at a particular age bracket and the evaluation of their deceleration. The conclusion includes comparison with measuring of other authors made so far.
Analysis of set of factors affecting safe longitudinal distance between vehicles
Zemánek, Lukáš ; Kovanda, Jan (referee) ; Bradáč, Albert (referee) ; Vémola, Aleš (advisor)
The doctoral thesis deals with problems of a safe longitudinal distance between vehicles. It includes an analysis of a set of factors influencing the safe distance between vehicles and is concerned with a research of effect of many of these factors on observance of the safe longitudinal distance between vehicles. In connection with these factors, this work deals with the solution of this issue in neighbouring countries through statutory measures, then with statistical analysis of traffic accidents in the Czech Republic caused by non-observance of the safe distance, also problems of assistance systems operating in this area, and subsequently, based on the findings, there are recommended suggestions of actions to increase safety in this area of road transport.
