Structuralism for the 21st Century
Nohejl, Jakub ; Jakšík, Petr (referee) ; Rozwalka, Szymon (advisor)
Differend and Biopower. Discursive Regulation of Covering Muslim Women in Czech republic
Balážová, Lucia ; Fišerová, Michaela (advisor) ; Marcelli, Miroslav (referee)
The diploma thesis combines the theoretical concepts of postmodernism and biopower, that are subsequently applied to the particular issue of covering Muslim women living in the Czech Republic. This problem includes the religious, gender, media, social and philosophical level. Each of them is supported by key authors who are experts in this issue. Michel Foucault's concept of biopower, that covers both social and individual bodies through power discourse, interferes with the clothing, that gender attribute, like the Muslim veil, is based on the ideas of Judith Butler. The priority is the ambivalent conception by Jean-François Lyotard, as a kind of conflict, the outlet of which is pluralistic debate. The aim of the thesis is to find a tolerant solution of the current erratic situation in the collision of European and Middle Eastern cultures in the Czech Republic, like wearing the Muslim veil, as the expression of Islam in public with applying Lyotard's demanding ethics of accepting pluralism as an alterity. Key words: postmodern, contradiction, biopower, Muslim veil, media discourse, gender, plurality
Selection of TED lectures on education (content analysis)
Baumruková, Jana ; Voda, Jan (advisor) ; Krčmářová, Tereza (referee)
This master's thesis addresses TED, the global phenomenon dedicated to spreading revolutionary ideas worldwide. The aim of this thesis is to find and show correlations between interesting ideas from TED talks - under the tags 'education' and 'teaching', and their potential implementations among the Czech society. Through monographic method I investigate the most significant attributes/trends of the current crisis of the educational systems worldwide and their impact on a teacher - their role as a whole and the perception and acceptance of the goals of their work. These issues are addressed in a discourse about the changes in educational systems in 21st century worldwide and in the Czech Republic. It also explores the interconnections between problems in education and the state of society, its values and philosophical superstructures. One of the sections shows reader a compilation of categorize analyses of individual talks from TED based on their topic and content. The final part revolves around the most common topics from the talks that have direct connection to the current state of the Czech educational system which have been identified through educational research. The analyses of the talks are part of the appendix. KEYWORDS educational development, core values, authenticity, inovation,...

Philosophy of extreme voluntarism (Schopenhauer) and its influence on later authors (Friedrich Nietzche and Ladislav Klima)
LASTOMIRSKÁ, Jana
The work deals with the extreme voluntarism and his influence on later authors. First, is the work of Schopenhauer explained the concept of the metaphysical will. Here is insights will primarily as a form of objectification and the closest is served objectification of the body, understood as object. In next section, this will monitored in philosophy of Ladislav Klíma and his idea of egodeism. For Klíma however, metaphysical will lose its transcendent ability and insight from a purely subjective point of view. The last part is mentioned Friedrich Nietzsche, whose theory of the will to power and the death of God, could be an inspiration for the Klíma's idea of egodeism.
Combination of a Belief Functions on Two-element and on General n-element Frame of Discernment
Daniel, Milan
A relation of combination of belief functions on 2-element frame of discernment and on general n-elements ones has been investigated and described. Conjunctive and Disjunctive rule, the consensus operator and minC combination has been included to the analysis.
Composition and Decomposition of Belief Functions
Daniel, Milan
MinC combination of belief functions - an instance of combination per elements is recalled in order to find its computational simplification. Unique decomposition/composition of n-dimensional belief functions to/from a system of 2-dimensional belief functions is introduced. Decomposition of generalized n-dimensional belief function and an attempt to their composition is presented as well. New demands for an operation of combination of belief functions are stated.
Associativity in Combination of Belief Functions
Daniel, Milan
The nature of a contradiction (conflict) between two belief functions is investigated. Alternative ways of distribution of the contradiction among nonempty subsets of frame of discernment are studied. A new approach to understanding of the contradiction is used and an original notion of a potential contradiction is introduced. A new way of an associative combination of generalized belief functions is presented. A way of its proportionalization is suggested as well.
