Contraception among secondary school and university students
KŘIVKOVÁ, Šárka
The thesis on "Contraception in High School and among College Youth" is focused on the mapping of knowledge about the possibilities and methods of contraception. The theoretical part of this bachelor thesis characterizes and defines the concept of contraception and describes its methods and types. It also includes a history of contraception, the sexuality of youth, and the characteristics of development during adolescence. Because it is important not only to teen girls to be thoroughly informed about the possibilities of contraception, the last chapter also mentions the role of the midwife in educating girls about contraception. A methodology of quantitative research was chosen for this thesis and the technique of a questionnaire and a poll was chosen for data collection. The data obtained was further processed and evaluated using the Microsoft Excel computer program and was subsequently evaluated using PivotTables. The so-called Pearson chi-square goodness-of-fit test was used to statistically test the hypotheses. In addition, charts have been drawn up for individual questions from the questionnaire and poll, which illustrate respondents' answers. The research group for the research investigations were girls and young women from secondary schools and universities of the South Bohemian Region aged from 16 to 26 years. Questionnaires were sent electronically. In total, 555 questionnaires were obtained, of which 440 were used for research. The aim of this study was to map the knowledge of girls and young women in selected secondary schools and universities about the methods of contraception. Three hypotheses have been established. The first hypothesis was to find out if there are differences in knowledge about methods of contraception among students of health and secondary schools and students of other secondary and higher education institutions. This hypothesis has not been confirmed, because there was no difference in knowledge about contraceptive methods between the selected groups. The second hypothesis was used to find out whether university students have a better understanding of contraceptive methods than secondary school students. This hypothesis has been confirmed, for college students have a better understanding of contraceptive methods than high school students. The third hypothesis assumes that college students prefer hormonal contraceptives more than high school students, which has not been confirmed, as according to tables and statistical tests we have found that there were no statistical differences in preference for hormonal contraceptives amongst secondary and university students. From the results of the questionnaire survey it is clear that college students generally have a better knowledge of contraception than high school students, regardless of whether it is a health-related school. It turned out that girls at a younger age tend to choose a hormonal contraceptive method and are not aware of other methods. This work could be used as an educational or informational material for students of secondary schools and universities. An information leaflet, which is the output of this thesis, can serve as information material for high school and university youth.

In the research section it´s conducted research among women in the reproduction period, who live in Jindřichův Hradec region. Research was conducted through a printed questionnaire and the results were written in graphs. The aim of the research section was to find out the main impacts, that caused falling birth rates in region Jidnřichův Hradec. The bachelor thesis contains three hypothesis. H1: The main reason of birth rates was fallen in Jindřichův Hradec region is unemployment. H2: The influences identified by theoretical knowledge coincide with the effects identified by the questionnaire method. H2 was hard to verify and it was not possible to determine whether it was confirmed or refuted. This is the reason why the partial aims were set to clarify hypothesis: Find out if women's educatium has an effect of birth rates was fallen in region Jindčichův Hradec. Unemployment has minimal infulence of falling birth rate in region Jindřichův Hradec. Both partial aims was confirm by trend. Women's education and posponement birth rate have effext of falling birth rate, not the main one, but they have influens. H3 was confirm by trend. Extension of contraception is main reason why birth rate was fallen.

Zadražilová, Lucie ; Antovová, Michaela (advisor) ; Svačinová, Kornélia (referee)
The purpose of my bachelor´s thesis on the theme Young People and Their View of the Planned Parenthood is to find out trends and links in the Czech Republic concerning the mentioned problematics. The additional part of this work hold the conducted surveys. With the help of these surveys we can find out the opinion of people at the ideal age for birth of a child, ideal and planned number of children, the importance of the marriage for bringing up children, distribution of parental roles and lastly the attitude of young people to unintentional pregnancy. The part of the thesis is here also the historical schema of transformation in connection with paternal and maternal action and behaviour. The investigation was put through the analysis of the trends of fertility since 1989 until the present time. Thanks to this was deduced that with process of years the total fertility fell very significantly in comparison to the former investigated year that was the year 1989. At the specific rates of fertility I came to the conclusion from which we can deduce lowering intensity and simultaneously increase in the age of mothers. The thesis also presents the basic features of parenthood, its definition and coherences. At the same time the attention is paid to the planned parenthood and contraception that are very closely connected to the aim of having children, because women use these means against unwanted pregnancy very plentifully at the present time. Motherhood and fatherhood is now very carefully planned and it leads to its significant postponing to later age. Thanks to careful planning there is smaller amount of abortions. Lastly there is mentioned the topic assisted reproduction, which is sought-after even by younger women, mainly through the metod ICSI. Through the practiced surveys there was also confirmed and gave the evidence about the fact that people plan children in their later age and there is decrease in interest in early parenthood in total. According to the expectation the ideal and planned number of children remains at the number of two and at the same time the traditional model of the family is disappearing over the years.

It also highlights the important historical milestones related to so-called birth control pill. Furthermore, the development of the contraceptive behavior of the Czech population since the 50s of the 20th century is analyzed. The empirical part of this thesis includes the description of methodology and the analysis of semi-structured interviews with ten women - mothers who were born in the 1960s and their daughters born around the turn of the 80s and 90s. The aim of the analysis is to discover how a generally accepted theory about contraception as the emancipation mechanism that helps women to control their own body and decide about their own reproduction is expressed in the lives of interviewed women. I ask the reason why, when and under what conditions these women decided to use birth control pills and the role of other circumstances in their decision-making. Moreover, I focus on the way how the birth control pills affect the relationship to own body and self-esteem of my respondents. And also, how birth control pills affect...
