The subject of the bachelor’s thesis is an architecture project created within the AG036 subject. This study is the elaboration of the documentation for a building permission and documentation for construction. The subject of this thesis is a design of above-standart apartment resort in Velké Karlovice, Leskové village, Zlín district. Suggested resort is located in sparse development in a typical Wallachian village Velké Karlovice in area Leskové. The land holding is located in a north hillside of a mountain valley. The height difference on the land is imperceptible. The surrounding buildings are two-storey and predestined to living predominantly. On designed land area are other buildings predestined as a temporary residented flats, it’s hinterland, a wellness resort and an appurteance. The main building is four-storey. On the underground floor is located a covered parking space for 14 cars, common room, lounge, and inner hinterland. An above-ground floors are predestined as apartments of different sizes. The floorplans of apartments are usually axailly symmetric. The acces on the land area is solved throught a bus turntable on the north side from the road. The car acces to building is located on the north side of building and the pedestrian acces on the west side. Most of the area is grassed. A paved sidewalks, little pond and another parking spots are there too. The facade of the building is white plastered in combination with a wooden tiling. The east side of the building is glazed throughout the wall with balconies and terraces (because of the valley view). On the west side is located a porch, which is used as main entrance into the apartments.

Mountain Hotel

The thesis focuses on a project of a mountain hotel. Hotel is located in the area Jeseník, altitude of 550 m. It is detached hotel with a rectangular ground plan with one underground floor and four above ground floors. In the basement is the engine room ventilation, bikes room and in the second part of the underground is wellness center. On the first floor is a restaurant. In the other floors are hotel rooms for 1 to 3 person. On the fourth floor are two apartments. The hotel is based on the monolithic footings.In the basement the vertical supporting are from concrete. Other vertical supporting are built from bricks Porotherm 30, which is insulated and ventilated facade with laggin 150 mm. Supporting horizontal structures are made of monolithic reinforced concrete. The building is covered with a double skin roof structure made of wooden trusses.

Hotel with wellness

The topic of this thesis is a new-building of a hotel with a wellness centre. The building site is located in the cadastral area of Malenovice near Zlín, the city of Zlín, Zlín Region. It is the building consisting of three rectangles inserted into each other. The building is designed as a six-floor skeletal construction with a cellar made of reinforced concrete, roofed with flat roofs. In the first floor there is a reception, a restaurant with outside seating, wellness centre, and utility rooms. The second and the third floor are intended for accommodation of guests in the form of double rooms and apartments. In the fourth and fifth floors there are double rooms as well. Rooms for guests and apartments are situated to the southern and northern part. This residential space is mostly equipped with balconies stretching along the corners. In the last, sixth floor there can be found the management of the hotel, a conference room and a bar with terrace. The main entrance is situated to the northern part of the object. Outdoor parking places are also a part of the hotel. Exterior and interior of the hotel are designed in the conformity with current modern trends. The layout of the space is functional and basic. The dynamics of the building is supported by external holes in black colour and by the two-coloured facade in blue and grey colours. The hotel is meant for both active and passive relaxation, there is a possibility of accommodation of young couples, families with children, elderly people, individuals, and people with limited ability of movement. The hotel of designed with the focus on the comfort of guests. Therefore the leisure time space is a part of hotel. The comfortable space for relaxation within the object is provided by the wellness centre mentioned above, the bar with terrace, and an outdoor swimming pool. The content of the bachelor's thesis corresponds to the stages of project documentation for building permits and documentation for construction The aim of the project was to propose the reconstruction of three existing buildings and an increase in the existing accommodation and parking capacities of the complex. Furthermore, the implementation of landscaping and overall improvement of the facilities of the area. The existing buildings are buildings A and B, which stand together and building C stands alone. These three buildings together contain 12 apartments. This number is maintained, but an adjustment is made to apartments corresponding to the 3 + kk standard. New buildings D and E are added to these buildings, forming the shape of the letter U with the existing buildings and creating a semi-enclosed courtyard between them. Object D serves as an entrance hall with reception. In building E, there is a swimming pool and a sauna center on the first floor. On the second and third floors there are six apartments (4 * 3 + kk, 2 * 2 + kk). There were also separate apartments on the plot under the designation F. There are a total of six buildings F and there is a separate apartment in each. These are two-storey buildings with two bedrooms on the second floor.

The aim of the thesis is to define the vision (in concrete proposals) for the functioning of community, socio-social, leisure and other activities in the village. The vision as such emerged on the basis of analyzes already in the last semester, on its basis, we come to the solution of a partial project, which should show the municipality how to go and why. Representatives and residents of Strachotín have for a long time been considering certain steps, construction works of varying extent, which would strengthen the population, their possibilities in using the potential of the place (wine, tourism) and the village returned the lost face.There is only a small distance between the village and the end of the village in the direction of Pálava, but there is an important urban area - the surroundings of the church - which is historically very important and it hides its potential. In my work, I have commissioned him to uncover it and try to inspect what she can offer. Not only for tourists, but also for locals.

Apartment resort Velke Karlovice

The subject of this bachelor’s thesis is a reconstrucion and conversion of two apartment buildings from the second half of the 20th century. The work is based on an achitectural study in the subject AG035 – Architectural Studio 5. The proposed conversion is located in a popular town Velké Karlovice, local part Leskové, in Beskydy mountains. Objects stand in a steep valley of river Vsetínská Bečva, which is followed by a road from Vsetín to Žilina in Slovakia. Both objects share a common gable wall. They have three floors – 1st includes technical utilities, such as cellars, storages and garages. Above this are another two floors, both with two flats, which makes eight flats together. The current low roof truss doesn’t allow full-fledged use. The subject of this work is a design of new use as apartments for short-/long-term living. Therefore is proposed reconstruction of flats and realization of new ones in the attic. On the ground floor will be created a small café. Two new lifts provide easy access. Inner partitions will be built from aerated concrete. Steel sections in building’s envelope will be used to carry loads above new windows. Reconstructed buildings must respect local landscape character. Facades will be white and supplemented by anthracite grey components, including sheet metal roof. There are another two objects intended on the property. Their detailed design isn’t part of this project.

Memory overflow

Since Japanese architecture is deeply rooted in a place, the right choice of location was very important. It had to be a place that I know very well and spent a lot of time there in the past. I have experienced it over the years and seasons. When considering the location, I also thought about what I want to create there. In my pre-diploma, I analyzed the basic building types for Japanese architecture: house, tea houe, shrine and temple. With that naturally came the question of how to adapt these forms in our country without creating ordinary copies or having to mark these buildings. How do those forms differ from our counterparts? What shaped them? Of course, the different environment and technical requirements for buildings (high humidity, frequent earthquakes) played an important role, but ritual was one of the essential aspects. The Japanese value norms and rules very much. This means that customs were an integral part, not only of architecture. The tea house was created by adapting to the needs of the tea ceremony. The Shinto temple emphasizes the sacred way to the object through the torii gate, rinsing the hands and mouth - just like in the tea ceremony, donating a gift to the temple (a few small coins) and saying a prayer. The house itself has a correlation with several rituals of everyday life, from ikebana, through the preparation of meals to cleansing the body. The motif of purification is central to all three forms. To clarify, a Japanese bath works like this: first you rinse your body outside the bath with a shower. Then you enter the bath, which is only for relaxation. It is important to enter the bathtub completely clean, because the whole family will use the bathtub for one fill during the evening. This kind of ritual is not limited only to households. Japan is a country rich in thermal springs, the so-called onsens. Many of them, as part of accommodation facilities, are a very popular place for regeneration. Slovakia, as a much smaller country, also has considerable thermal wealth. Most of them are used commercially in our country. In the place near the village of Kalameny under the Chočské vrchmi, where I spent my holidays since childhood, the place where my grandparents come from, one of these springs springs up. The famous thermal baths Lúčky and Liptovský hrad are located nearby. The goal of this work is to implement spatial forms in the given location inspired by the ritual of tea, the ritual of purification and the visit to the temple, as well as the connection of connections between “European” and “Japanese”, which have not yet been connected.

Pension in the heart of the Highlands

The subject of this thesis is the preparation of project documentation for the construction of pension. The building is located in the upper part of the village of Vlachovice, district Žďár nad Sázavou. The pension is detached located on a large, slightly sloping land. On the ground floor there is an entrance for guests, a restaurant, operational and technical facilities. In the attic there are 4 apartments for temporary accommodation for maximum of 20 people. The building has a T-shaped floor plan measuring 23.5 x 15 m and 9.5 x 9.5 m and is roofed by saddle roof with purlins. The construction system of the building is a wall system. The vertical perimeter load-bearing structures are designed from ceramic blocks filled with polystyrene. The ceiling above the 1st floor is made of load-bearing cavity panels with prestressed reinforcement. The building is designed with consideration of the existing and future surrounding buildings. There are 18 parking spaces on the property. Part of the thesis is also a basic assessment in terms of building physics and fire safety solutions.
