Completion of the area Údolní 53 for the Faculty of Architecture and Faculty of Fine Arts
Teplá, Tereza ; Vochta, Miroslav (referee) ; Makovský, Zdeněk (advisor)
The area is large and on it, among other things, two wings of the original barracks. Long and high. The human figure is lost. The rooms of existing buildings are isolated and their variability and adaptation to the work of the artist is rather limited. The design of these facts responds to a man-made scale and by creating spaces both internal and external, which, thanks to their generosity and variability, allow the work of the artist today, but also in the future, when the way of creation could change.
Teaching-space paradigm
Belopotocký, Maroš ; Bureš, David (referee) ; Sládeček, Svatopluk (advisor)
The task of the bachelor's thesis is to design the completion of the Faculty of Architecture in the BUT campus in the Brno-centre district between Úvoz, Údolní and Tvrdého streets, due to the planned transfer of the faculty from the current premises on Poříčí Street. The issue of completion allows for the expansion of the faculty premises and the addition of capacities for which the current situation no longer has a place. The project also addresses the use of the original historic buildings and the connection of the Faculty of Architecture with the Faculty of Fine Arts within one area.

Between the Landscape and the City
Promna, Denisa ; Nový, Vítězslav (referee) ; Žalmanová, Petra (advisor)
The subject of the thesis was to prepare an architectural and urban design of the entrance space at the premises of the Palacky University Faculty of Natural Sciences in Olomouc - Holice. The proposal focuses on understanding the place of life of students and scientists. The main proposed building is based on a golden section - not only architectural matter, but also the contents of the buildings works with an understanding of the importance of education. Communicating knowledge to future generations. The current state of the site is created by a spontaneous development without a closer urban solution. The new object is positioned in a position that creates a clear, dominating character, but also respects the current state. The object focuses on meeting people with an idea, over a book or in a circle of study college. In contrast to that, relaxation and relaxation in the countryside appear. This is the inspiration for the creation of a building, while there is a certain rationality in the choice of architectural expression. The interface between the city (man-made) and nature is represented by a disk-dialogue forum. The spiritual overlapping of the architectural expression will allow us to understand the interface and potential of the site on the outskirts of Olomouc. City - nature
Bsiness plan for creating of the agency SPORT and UNIVERSITY
Mertová, Monika ; MBA, Vladimír Turčan, (referee) ; Koráb, Vojtěch (advisor)
The subject of the presented thesis is a business plan of agency, which the owner founded in February 2005 after having successfully passed university in United States of America as a student-athlete receiving full athletic scholarship. This is recruiting type of agency working with student-athletes in Czech Republic and US coaches at universities. The agency is trying to find athletic- scholarships for athletes as well as great education and sport opportunities for them. I can divide this business plan into three basic parts; part one focus on introducing the agency, her objectives, mission, and present situation. Another part concentrates in determination of the present position of the agency (position on the market, clients, skills, characteristics) and it consists of a detailed strategic analysis of external factors (STEP, Porter, Market Research) and internal factors. The conclusion of the analytic part is closed by a SWOT analysis. Finally, an essay represents the last part of the thesis where the specific business plan of the agency’s future for next five years is formulated. For further expansion of the agency, specific proposals in the key areas have been made. Lastly I have focused on risk evaluation, recommendation and conclusion.
WHAT TO DO? Conversion of industrial premises, Brno - Obřany
Koželouhová, Anna ; Rudiš, Viktor (referee) ; Oplatek, Jiří (advisor)
The topic of the graduation thesis is the revitalization of the former textile manufacturing complex in the quarter Maloměřice and Obřany of the city of Brno and conversion of its main building, spinning mill, to the school of architecture. Urban design concept is based on several ideas. I tried to involve the complex into the life and urban structure of this part of Brno and to create a possible new center. I also tried to recognize the values and qualities of the area as a whole and of its individual components. I created zones, characterized by different interactions with the neighborhood. By the entrance into the area I place an object called “gate”, which should draw the attention of passers-by. It clearly guides to enter the island and later the school building. The central part of the island is cleaned from the later extensions and a new foreground of entry to school is formed there. This zone, which continues to the north over the old mill-race between the neighboring buildings, is public, communicates, but is clearly defined and has its own inner life. Third, semi-private area is a residential waterfront of the mill-race with the existing balcony-access house and a new housing for students. The fourth area is a public park, detached from the school entrance courtyard by the block of trees and connected to the village by a new foot bridge. The architectural design of the spinning-mill conversion is based on the concept of inserting new objects into existing autonomous structure of the house. The purity of the building and support structures is preserved. Through the insulation of the inserted objects the thermal comfort is achieved. In the building I leave free space, which is cut through all floors throughout the four chimneys of the stairs, sanitary facilities and installations. Into the individual fields of the concrete-frame construction I put rectangular boxes of different functions - classrooms, studios and offices. These are connected with the chimneys via electrical and ventilation lines. The existing building façade remains unchanged, it defines the internal space, it is a connecting element, rather than separating.
Campus + New building of Faculty of Architecture, Technical University of Nitra
Csanda, Denis ; Šabík, Viktor (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the design of a new university with the Faculty of Architecture and the Faculty of Arts in Nitra. The main topic is how to properly place and design a new university building in relation to surrounding buildings, which is mainly a national monument [Slovak University of Agriculture designed by architect Vladimír Dedeček.] This topic is based on the undergraduate work, which deals with campus of SPU and UKF. In the undergraduate work, an urban study was prepared for the entire campus area, which tries to point out its potential. It defined the place where the design of the diploma thesis building should be concentrated, which is a direct continuation of it and follows up on its topic. The form of the university is based on Dedeček's thoughts on the composition of the campus. It works with the axis scheme "cardo-decumanus", is based on the forms of SPU pavilions and imitates the way UKF operates. The form is cropped so as not to cover the monument to a greater extent than the growing greenery currently does. This creates terraces, which are accessible by hidden stairs from the square to the highest part of the roof. These terraces create a new level of public life, from which there are views of Zobor and the city skyline. Like terraces, facades are also accessible. By moving the floors, galleries are created that bypass the entire university. It is also important to process the theme of the studios. Both faculties have a similar studio teaching method. These studios function as separate parts of the university. They are linked to the faculty institutes by staircases running across the floors. Between these parts, four unique exterior spaces are created, which have a specific purpose and function.
Inovative centre STU Bratislava
Dolníková, Denisa ; Klimecký, Martin (referee) ; Gerö, Jiří (advisor)
The topic of the bachelor thesis is the design of the STU Innovation Center in Bratislava. The project is based on the architectural study of the subject AG033-Atelier of architectural creation 3 and the construction study of the subject AG036 Complex project. The area of the inner block is currently visually chaotic and underutilized. The goal of the design is to create a valuable space for students, employees and the public on the campus and therefore make it more accessible to the wider community. An essential part was the connection of the inner block with the surrounding environment. The designed building contains three above-ground floors and underground garages. The mass of the object can be divided into two parts - the part with heavy laboratories and above-ground laboratories, which is rectangular and the other slanting part with spaces for students and public. The first and second above-ground floors contain an open gallery and multi-purpose spaces. The open and airy space, not only adds the representativeness of the whole design but also provides an opportunity for short-term rest. The third above-ground floor is mainly designated to accomodate start-up offices and the rectorate. The external appearance of the object is designed with clean and simple lines in mind. The glazed parts of the building are shielded with a white aluminum perforated sheetmetal. Other parts of the facade are covered in smooth white plaster. The entire expression of the object is therefore characterized by the timelessness that the Innovation Center demands. The surroundings of the building are functionally designed for the rest and free movement of students. There is plenty of greenery and places for rest, or various events of STU faculties.
