Skácelík, David ; Marková, Hana (advisor) ; Kohajda, Michael (referee) ; Švarc, Zbyněk (referee)
1 Abstract This work deals with the performance of supervision over the financial market and the entities operating in the financial market. Part of the work is devoted to consumer protection in the financial market and compensation systems. Because of the fact that the Czech Republic became a member of the European Union in 2004, this work includes also legislation of regulation and supervision of this level, as this treatment significantly predetermines Czech adjustment. Following questions were examined as an example of protecting the interests of clients of supervised entities: - whether there are any tools to protect the client's interests at the level of supervised entities, - what kind of role the supervisory authority has or may have in relation between a supervised entity and its client, - how are the client's financial interests protected in the event of failure of the supervised entity and whether this protection is de lege lata sufficient. The theoretical part of the work briefly describes the institute of supervision, its assorting and forms. The authority of supervisor is discussed in the next part together with the regulations under which the supervision is conducted. Owing to the fact that the scope of supervisory activity of the Czech National Bank is quite extensive, and the objective of...

Lupač, Tomáš ; Kohajda, Michael (advisor) ; Sejkora, Tomáš (referee)
Financial services provided by FinTech companies Abstract The diploma thesis focusing on Financial Services provided by FinTech companies aims to provide a comprehensive legal overview of modern issues in the financial market. The financial market has undergone a significant shift in the last decade, especially thanks to new innovative solutions, that are made possible by the rapid technological development of the 20th and 21st century. FinTech companies are often startups which, unlike the traditional financial institutions, have not been and today are still not bound by the pitfalls and strict conditions of the regulatory environment, when creating their business model and their products. FinTech companies little by little began to benefit from these regulatory gaps and gradually brought new types of financial services to financial market customers, which in certain situations may pose a very dangerous risk to the financial market and its stability. The diploma thesis is divided into three chapters and tries to give a comprehensive description of how technologies have influenced the world of finance throughout history, what legislation currently affects FinTech and what approach is taken by individual states and the European Union. The first chapter focuses primarily on the complete foundations of...

Demyanenko, Sergey ; Barák, Vladimír (advisor) ; Brabec, Petr (referee)
The bachelor thesis examines the issue of so called sharing economy and its impact on consumer behavior of individuals in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of thesis defines the historical, social and economic context, that enabled the emergence of this modern exchange model and provides an overview of the financial services in the sharing economy operating on the Czech market. The empirical part presented in the form of a questionnaire survey reveals the main benefits of services of the sharing economy, defines the perception of financial services of collaborative consumption by a specific group of population of the Czech Republic and examines the potential development of this model as a whole. The results of the research indicate that, notwithstanding the relatively low level of trust in the collaborative consumption services and quite limited familiarity with the financial services of the sharing economy, the future positive development of this exchange model, which under the right conditions will gain significant national economic significance, may be expected.

Veselý, Milan ; Kohajda, Michael (advisor) ; Kotáb, Petr (referee)
Resumé Public and legal protection of a client of financial services This diploma thesis deals with public and legal protection of a client of financial services to which is in my opinion given relatively marginal attention in the Czech legal area. The introduction outlines meaning and role of legal protection of a client in market economy, which is one of the basic premises for the proper functioning of a democratic state represented by the rule of law. I have also defined the key terms of this paper which are "client", "consumer"¨and "financial service". After detailed analysis I have distinct a client of financial services for this work as a consumer in accordance with interpretation in the European and Czech legal framework. Second part is devoted to theoretical basics and principles of consumer protection. I have analyzed basic principles of this topic, i.e. the principle of protection of the weaker party and the principle of autonomy of the will and their respective relation. I have also elaborated in detail tools used for consumer protection. The third chapter is focused on institutions that are involved in the legal protection of a client of financial services and I have briefly defined their status, duties and powers. Next part consists of analysis of legislation which regulates client's protection...
