Aplication of ICP-MS in environmental analysis and possibilities of this technique for the determination of silicon in waters
Bohdálková, Veronika ; Doležalová Weissmannová, Helena (referee) ; Čáslavský, Josef (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on the application of inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) in environmental analysis. This method offers multi-element analysis on trace and ultra-trace levels as well as isotopic analysis of various species in diverse matrices like drinking, surface and waste waters, sediments, biological samples, food and others. ICP-MS due its high sensitivity, ability of parallel determination of many elements and speed of analysis is more and more applied in the field of pollution control and environmental protection. The main goal of this bachelor thesis is the evaluation of the possibility of silicon determination in various kinds of water by ICP-MS.
The significance of platinum in the environment
Brestovská, Marta ; Holubová, Zuzana (referee) ; Sommer, Lumír (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with monitoring of individual platinum compounds in the environment (water, soil, air) and is also reviewing methods used for their analysis. The no less important determination of platinum in tissues and body fluids, when the platinum is used in form of a cisplatin as an anticancer drug, is also mentioned. Afterwards the anticancer drug itself or its derivatives and metabolites on the base of platinum complexes in clinical sample (urine, plasma) are determined. Mainly the ICP-AES, ICP-MS, ETA-AAS, HPLC methods are highlighted from the methods used for the determination of Pt. The on-line connection between some of these methods such as ICP-MS with HPLC or ICP-AES with HPLC seems to be useful. The spectrofotometric methods using organic and inorganic agents can also be used for the determination of platinum. These methods are mentioned here rather marginally, just for completeness. In terms of practical use they are difficultly reproducible and not very sensitive. The hydrolysis of platinum metals to form insoluble hydrated oxides makes also the determination difficult.
Alternative Drive of Automobile and Environment
Martinec, Pavel ; Kloss, Ondřej (referee) ; Kaplan, Zdeněk (advisor)
The thesis is aimed alternative drive of automobiles and their influence on the environment
Quality and Environment management system
Turková, Daniela ; Kotek, Luboš (referee) ; Kotek, Luboš (referee) ; Fiala, Alois (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the subject of meeting quality requirements in various fields of industrial production in the Czech Republic with the emphasis put on scrap and waste materials processing; from manufacturing a product through its use until its disposal while maintaining specific standards/norms. The thesis also contains a proposal of a potential production plan with a maximally reduced negative impact on the environment.
Methods of environmentally friendly carcass disposal
Blažek, Pavel ; Kropáč, Jiří (referee) ; Novotný, Pavel (advisor)
In the thesis we deal with a summary of all available methods of disposal of environmentally friendly vehicles that are currently available. Addressing this problem is to find appropriate procedure, thereby simplifying and reducing the cost of processing vehicles. We also deal with this issue in terms of legislative, therefore a summary of the law on dealing with waste vehicles. The aim of this work is to introduce the methods of processing whole vehicles as well as various parts of cars and find the most appropriate methods of disposal
Recultivations Locality/Places after Surfaces Mining Coal / Sand / Ore
Kubíček, Jan ; Jícha, Jaroslav (referee) ; Novotný, Pavel (advisor)
Recultivation of landscape is necessary process, which goes hand in hand with mineral exploitation. Devastated landscape is recovered back to the stage before exploitation as much as possible, which means that the biological factors are restored. Recultivation creates aestetically and functionally useful landscape, which fits in surrounding biosphere and is able to serve for hunanity and nature again.
Pollutants in laboratory waste waters
Červenka, Jiří ; Zmrzlý, Martin (referee) ; Sponar, Jan (advisor)
Mercury is a very consequential pollutant. It´s contained in all components of environment. Analysis of mercury is very demanding. Since mercury is ranked among dangerous chemicals, its quantity is limited and checked not only in environment. The aim of this thesis was to determine concentration of mercury in water from labs and in influent and effluent water from neutralization station of Brno university of Technology, Faculty of Chemistry. Water from neutralization is also mixed with sewage. Advanced mercury spectrometer AMA 254 was used or analysis. Results confirmed, that water flows out from lab to neutralization with relatively high concentration of mercury, highly exceeding limits of drainline. Water from neutralizing station also doesn´t show so high concentration of mercury, because it is mixed with waters from other labs and pH of water is amended. Special waste bottles for liquid waste with risk elements and dangerous compounds are available; from results can be decided, that not everybody follows the rules and some people might pour the waste right in to the sink. Resolution could have been safer acquisitions in labs. Students, who manipulate with dangerous chemicals should be alive to risk, which threatens with pouring into the sink, contamination and dangerous for all components of environment.
Pollution control strategies and techniques for combustion processes
Kunc, Vlastimil ; Chlápek, Petr (referee) ; Bělohradský, Petr (advisor)
Bachelor’s thesis deals with the problems of combustion process. The work gives the overview and the description of individual design parameters of the combustion facility. The analysis of the influence of design parameters on emissions formation is followed by the description of individual kinds of emissions and their impact on the environment. Next the most used reduction techniques are described. The work is closed by the overview of the emission limits in the Czech Republic.
Quality and Environment management system
Stoy, Tomáš ; Musil, Martin (referee) ; Fiala, Alois (advisor)
This paper deals with interaction of quality and environment and their influence. The first part describes the quality itself and tries to explain how it works and how we can reach the quality. The focus of this description is on the Quality Management System. The second part of this paper deals with ecology and environment and focuses on the production and considers environment when trying to reach high quality of products.
Training center Hustopece - gross substructure
Polenský, Jaroslav ; Rotrekl, Ivo (referee) ; Biely, Boris (advisor)
The content of the bachelor’s thesis is a technological proyect of the training centre of the company of Teramex s.r.o. in Hustopeče. In my work I deal with a technological instrument of ground works and with foundations. In other parts the inspection test plans, the mechanical set and the equipment of the building site are described. Subsequently, the occupational safety, the progress chart and the budgetary composition of the construction are dealt. I also follow up the comparation of the various options of the road transport.
