Analysis of Heraldic collection of czech aristocracy (1700-1920) of National Museum Archives

The bachelor thesis is devoted to the Heraldic Collection of the Czech Aristocracy, which is now stored in the National Museum Archives. The first chapter is devoted to other heraldic and genealogical-heraldic collections in Czech archives and places the Collection in their context. The second part presents an external and internal description of the Collection. It deals with the issue of layers of origin and scribal hands. The third chapter analyses the bearers of the signs that have been identified in the Collection in terms of their country of origin, noble status and the time when they appeared in the Bohemian lands. An inventory of the material in the Collection and an index of the beares of the signs is added as an appendix.

Current Trends in Archival and Museum Pedagogy

The thesis deals with museums and archives as educational institutions. The goal of the thesis is to map this educational environment and, through practical teaching examples, prove the necessity of using new forms of education that archives and museums directly and indirectly offer. These are educational forms that, with the correct selection of the educational program and educational methods, can stimulate and activate students' interest in education many times more. However, finding a suitable teaching method that would be able to activate and effectively affect all students (including students with special educational needs) is a difficult task that teachers, museum teachers and archivists have to deal with. In any case, museums and archives belong to dynamically developing institutions that stand on long-standing traditions and foundations, and therefore their environment is known to the general public. This is an advantage on which the educators of these institutions can build the foundation of their educational programs.

Josef Antonín Seydl in Office of the Beroun Dean

The main aim of this Bachelor's work is to create a comprehensive summary of information about the life and the work of Josef Antonín Seydl and to put this person into the historical context of his time. This thesis is aimed at the involvement of Josef Antonin Seydl in activities of national revivalists. We can see the illustration of Seydl's involvement in the process of the Czech National Revival in his work for the National Museum, in his attempt to found the reader's society or in lending the contemporary literature, written in Czech, to the poor citizens of Beroun city. For his hometown is important his historiographical work which was written with an emphasis on the importance of knowing the national language and knowing national and also regional history. This Bachelor's work should demonstrate that Josef Antonín Seydl was an important part in the process of the Czech National Revival although today is his name almost unknown. The bachelor's thesis is focused on the file and archive service run at the municipal office in Libčice nad Vltavou, where I am employed, so in the practical part I can describe some steps from my own experience and compare them with validlegislation.The teoretical part of the work is focused on the history of the file service and its management, on legislative requirements, especially in connection with the efforts to digitize state administration. Czechia und Russia: common origins, different branches. Selected problems of Czech - Russian research.

This thesis will focus on comparing the principles of genealogical research in the Czech Republic and in Russia. In the first part of the thesis, attention will be paid to the theoretical starting points of genealogical research, the similarities and differences of source possibilities, institutional patronage of similar research will be observed. In the second, practical part, three specific cases of searching for relatives will be described in the case when a Czech has Russian (respectively Ukrainian or Belarusian) ancestors, or vice versa - a Russian has his roots in the Czech Republic.

Subcommision on heraldry and vexillology of the Czech parliament

The thesis deals with the Subcommittee for Heraldry and Vexillology of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. It is divided thematically into two parts. The first part describes the general history of the subcommittee from 1991 to 2013, covering the establishment of the Commission for Heraldry and Vexillology of the Czech National Council up to the end of the 6th electoral term. This section also presents the work of the commission on the new coat of arms of the Czech Republic, the evolution of the expert group of the Czech Parliament, and the establishment of the registry of municipal symbols REKOS. The second part deals with requests for symbols and in general the process of granting them itself. It includes a description of the documentation requirements of the subcommittee and the commission between the years 1991-2013. The overall process of symbol granting is also described here, from the submission of a request to the decision by the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic. From Balkan to the West - study journey of Mr Václav Mencl in 1969

The main aim of this diploma thesis is to create critical edition of the travel journal. The author of this journal is Václav Mencl who is one of the most important historians of architecture of the 20th Century. Journals (diaries), as well as, for example, corespondence, are sources of personal nature or ego documents. They are created by one originator (an human being) and their physical form and content depends entirely on their creator. Personal journals or diaries are the most common but travel journals are also very popular. Václav Mencl kept a journal during his study and work journey, which he undertook as a professional consultant, with his colleagues from the creative audiovisual group SCARS (operating under the Art Centrum agency) across Southern and Western Europe. This journey lasted from August 14th to October 5th , 1969, and its purpose was to collect material for an audiovisual presentation prepared for the European Economic Community pavilion at the 1970 World Expo held in Osaka, Japan. During this expedition, Václav Mencl simultaneously collected and analyzed material for his upcoming work, which is entitled History of European Architecture. The spa society in Františkovy Lázně and Luhačovice. Kurlists as a source for the history of spa seasons 1850-1950.

The diploma thesis deals with an attendance of Františkovy Lázně and Luhačovice spas in 1850-1950. The aim of the thesis is a comparison of two selected spa towns concerning spa attendance from the point of view of visitor"s gender and geographical and social origin of spa visitors. Furthermore, it surveys the differences in selected spas attendance and how it changed throughout the last 100 years. The basic source of this thesis were the lists of spa visitors, so called "kurlisty", on the base of which a comparative analysis of Františkovy Lázně and Luhačovice spas attendance was performed. It was found out that the attendance of the spas was influenced not only by industrial and medical development in 19th century but also the social and political events reflected in the spas clientele, mainly the Germany unification, the First World War, creation of the Czechoslovak Republic, economic crisis, the Second World War and political changes in Czechoslovakia at the end of 1940s. Memorial book (1846-1848) of the Mnichovo Hradiště estate by Tomáš Hindl

(česky) Cílem bakalářské práce je ediční zpracování kroniky vrchnostenského úředníka na panství Mnichovo Hradiště, vedené v letech 1846-1848. Samotná kronika je rozšířena o drobné historiografického dílo od stejného autora s názvem Děje panství mnichovohradišťského. Jedná se o první souborné ediční zpracování těchto historických pramenů čítající v celkovém rozsahu 390 rukopisných stran. Pro pochopení širších souvislostí obsažených v edici je krátce přihlédnuto i k osobnosti autora, kulturně-historickému pozadí vzniku díla a ke srovnání obdobných prací soudobých autorů.
