Comparative analysis of client's protection in banking and insurance services within the EU

The objective of this thesis is to compare measures of consumer protection and its level in insurance and banking services in the EU. The premise is that the measures are very similar because both areas are subject to financial services law and as such they are similarly regulated. The first part of this work analyses and examines Insurance Distribution Directive and its contribution to consumer protection. The thesis compares Insurance Distribution Directive with Insurance Mediation Directive which is the legislation in force as of the time of writing this thesis. The second part of the thesis analyses, examines and compares Consumer Credit Directive and Mortgage Credit Directive and their contribution to consumer protection. The third part of the thesis compares the two previous parts and describes the reasons for different approaches taken in the researched legislation. The result of the analysis is that the measures taken for consumer protection are indeed very similar with differences originating from the nature of the services. The most elaborated directive which ensures the highest level of consumer protection is Mortgage Credit Directive and it is due to the significance of mortgage credit for lives of consumers and for the economy. Cultural criminology and narrative analysis

The theme of this thesis is Cultural criminology and narrative analysis. The work is divided into four chapters that focus on the subject of cultural criminology, its methods and benefits. The first chapter introduces cultural criminology, its main concepts, influences and development. The second chapter presents selected methods of cultural criminology in detail, namely ethnography and media analysis. The third section describes in detail the narrative analysis and its benefits. In addition, this chapter provides an example of using this method of narrative analysis in a document created by Anders Breivik before his terroristic attacks in Oslo, Norway in July 2011. Finally, the third chapter introduces the narrative criminology, criminological approach to the study of crime that is emerging as an independent forensic industry. The fourth chapter summarizes the benefits and drawbacks of cultural criminology and its possibilities as a criminological movement. Raiffeisen's type credit cooperatives (so called kampeličky) in Královéhradecko in first half of 20. century

This bachelor thesis deals with Raiffeisen-type credit cooperatives from the selected region of Hradec Králové in the period from the beginning of the 20th century to the end of the Second World War. It describes the monetary and credit system in the Czech lands in general, and focuses on the credit cooperative segment itself since the first cooperatives were established. It also tries to define the economy of the selected area. The core of the thesis are the individual studies of the creation, development and activities of savings and backup associations in the designated area of Hradec Králové. Attention is paid to the organizational structure and personnel composition of the associations, the problems they encountered during their operation. In the conclusion, the work tries to provide an insight into the management and importance of credit cooperatives in the given time on the basis of the obtained data.

Effect of merger to value of Lázně Aurora, Ltd

The objective of this thesis is to determine value of the Spa Aurora after the merger with Berta´s spa by DCF method and synergistic effect of the merger. The thesis is devided into the theoretical and the practical part. The theory focuses on theoretical and methodological resources for the practical part. It deals with the company appraisement, strategic and financial analysis, appraisement methods and merger. Single companies and project of the merger are introduced by the pratical part. Strategic analysis focuses on micro and macroenviroment impacts on the spa companies. Financial analysis is done using the absolute and relative indicators. Financial plans of the both spa´s and acquiring company were created for the appraisement needs. The final step is comapines appraisal by DCF method and determination of the synergistic effect of the merger. In conclusion, the major outcomes are summarized.

This bachelor thesis deals with the economic analysis of the town Suchdol nad Lužnicí. It is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The basic terms associated with the town and its economy are defined in the theoretical part. The practical part concisely characterizes the town, analyzes its budgets through the years from 2008 to 2012 and the financial outlook for the years 2012 and 2013. It also examines the town economy from the local residents' point of view based on a survey.
