Socio-political analysis of the causes of indebtedness of citizens

The thesis "Analysis of the Causes of Over-Indebtedness" consists of a detailed analysis of issues leading up to over-indebtedness. It also aims to point out the most serious consequences of over-indebtedness. The thesis brings attention to the relation between causes and effects which, in many cases, take the form of the opposite and vice versa. The boundary between cause and effect can often be indistinct, and it is essential to distinguish between the two in order to find a solution for an over-indebted client. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the issue of a loss of income which may lead to over-indebtedness, draws attention to the important role of education in the area of financial literacy, and notes on the most serious consequences of over-indebtedness, which it sees in the loss of housing, homelessness, and other negative effects. The research part concentrates on a social group which belongs to one of the most threatened with social exclusion, welfare applicants. The research attempts to analyse their debt situation in relation to their age, education, housing, unemployment period, willingness to change their situation, and willingness to repay their debt.
Intercultural mediation and intercultural work - tools of social work in the field of migrants'integration

The topic of this thesis is intercultural approaches in social work. The text aims to map out the process of the establishment of new professions - intercultural mediation and intercultural work. These professions arise in culturally diversified societies of EU countries and serve as a tool to overcome language barriers and enhancing socio-cultural cohesion of society. Objective of the thesis is achieved by using the analytic - synthetic method of theoretical study and performance of good practice in selected EU countries and the Czech Republic. First, the thesis gives a comprehensive overview of immigration and integration policy of the EC / EU and the Czech Republic and focuses on fundamentals of intercultural approach in the helping professions. Major part presents theoretical concepts and practical applications of intercultural mediation and intercultural work in selected EU countries - France, Spain, Portugal, Germany and the Czech Republic. The author draws on findings from the project Formation profession sociocultural mediator - inspiration by Portuguese model cz.1.04/5.1.01/77.00416, which she methodically led in the years 2012 - 2014. The design of the training programme for field social workers in excluded localities

The thesis "The construction of an educational program for field social workers in excluded areas" focuses in its topic on one of the social work approach - field social work. It addresses the field social work performed in the areas in the Usti region which are labelled as "socially excluded Roma areas" and primarily addresses the personality of social worker and his or her professional competencies. The aim of the thesis is a construction of an educational program reflecting knowledge, skills and competencies needed for effective and high quality professional performance. I based this topic on knowledge from the field social work, work with ethnic minority approaches and andragogy. I also included topic of Roma people focused on specific needs of Roma arising from their history, culture and tradition. I also mention recent situation in social exclusion of Roma people in the Czech Republic. I analyze the knowledge, summarize it and strive to make a comprehensive view on this specific category of social work. Unemployment in Eastern Slovakia in the perspective of community work

During the years after the conversion in 1989 and the establishement of separate Slovak state the highest rate of longterm unemployement among the states of European Union occured in the locality of Eastern Slovakia. In current times after the economic crisis few states outrun Slovakia at the moment but taken from a more longterm perspective and taking into account the duration of unemployement Slovakia is still on the front ranks. In the European context this locality is also specific by high rates of marginalized Roma population that lives in an unsatisfactory conditions and has a problematic access to education and work. The fact that in the region there are less job opportunities compared to western Slovakia and therefore chances of finding an adequate job are also limited for the rest of the population worsens the situation. The thesis will not only analyse the conditions of emergence of unemployement but will also focus on strategies of multiple possible solutions with the main emphasis on potential of community work and social firms. The influence of the downfall of the German community on the current community

This dissertation is focused on the transfer of citizens of German nationality after the Second World War from the borderlands of the North Moravian Velké Losiny village as well as on the impact of this transfer on the current community in Velké Losiny. The goal of this dissertation is to learn whether the transfer of the former German community from Velké Losiny and the resettlement with new residents influences the newly created community and how. A comparative study was created to support this goal and compare the originally populated Bludov village and the newly populated Velké Losiny village. Their development was analysed in seven periods (to 1918; 1918-1938; 1938-1945; 1945-1948; 1948-1960; 1960-1989; 1989 until today) and in eleven categories (population, nationality, regional origin, political orientation, administration, settlement type, living conditions and architecture, popular culture, languages of daily communication, relationship towards their home). Romany people and education

The topic of this rigorous thesis is "Romany people and education". The thesis is divided into the theoretical and the practical part. The theoretical background of the topic includes motivation, history of Romany people, conception of their family or their social exclusion. Close attention is paid on education of Romany children. The practical part contains the research designed due to technical and time reasons in the spirit of quantitative methodology; the questionnaire was used as a method for collecting the data. The survey was carried out at the end of October 2011 in a special school in Prague-Žižkov and in the beginning of November 2011 in the "Romany centre for children and youth" in Přichystalova street in Olomouc, where children from a special school in Olomouc attend school. These two institutions were chosen on purpose. The questionnaire survey was aimed at finding out the motivation of Romany students in a special school towards learning, the family background, free time activities, the presence of non-Romany classmates and their mutual relationships, the person of their teacher, his origin etc. Sub-goals were set to discover the statistically important differences between boys and girls and between Romany students in both selected institutions. The thesis deals with elderly people as voters and their attitudes towards slogans about social security. It examines electoral behaviour and preferences of elderly people and the influence od age on their voting decisions. Part of the thesis is devoted to the slogans od political parties, which are an important part of the campaigns and provides an comparison of election programes of parties in context of social security. The aim of the empirical work was to ascertain the views and attitudes of elderly people to particular slogans about social securities used in election campaign to the Chamber of Deputies in 2010.

Bachelor thesis "Romany Experience in Communicating with Local Authorities" deals with going of communication among Romanies and local authorities based on statements of both sides. Thesis tries to define repetitive dysfunction characteristics of the communication and clarify their origin taking in account intercultural differences among individual participants. On the theoretical base, the thesis deals with creation and substantiality of the Romany identity and living conditions of Romanies in connection with discrimination and its effects. Last but not least the thesis tries to find out how significant the impact of Romany social exclusion and resulting way of living can be on majority non/acceptance.
