Balická, Kateřina ; Ulrichová, Monika (advisor) ; Hudcová, Eliška (referee)
1 Abstract The aim of the thesis 'Power in the Helping Professions' is to describe the specifics of power in the relationship between the helping party and the recipient of the help. The work presents possible theoretical concepts through which we are able to analyse power relationships within helping professions. Furthermore, the thesis highlights the theory of the dependency triangle. The theory can be used to better understand the relationships in which power is used to meet the needs of the 'more powerful' party in the relationship. In the second part of the thesis, the issue of power is embedded in the orphanage setting and, in the educator-child relationship in the orphanage. This part offers an application of the dependency triangle concept for the purpose of power positions and power relationships reflection among the helping professions.

Interviews show that they expressed a wish to meet their loved ones and try to mend relations with them, which they did not manage to do. The content of this bachelor thesis is psychospiritual crisis from the perspective of pastoral and social work. In the theoretical part I describe the forms and manifestations of psychospiritual crisis and try to explain how this crisis differs from mental illness. I place the issue in the context of pastoral and social work. In the practical part there are individual interviews with pastoral and social workers that are part of the research. I have used a case study as the research design. The selection of respondents was based on a theoretical sampling of the data, which I then interpreted through content analysis. In the practical part, the research questions are asked. The results of the investigation are presented in the conclusion of the thesis. The aim of the study was to find out how the issue of psychospiritual crisis is perceived by social and pastoral workers. Some of the respondents did not comment on important issues at all and did not feel the need to elaborate on the issue. Although I am aware of the...
