Nursing care about patient with uterine prolapse

This work deals with the nursing care about a patient related to uterine prolapse. The theoretical part provides information on anathomy and physiology of female reproduction organs, it summarises possible solutions of the problem of uterine prolapse and it briefly describes possible surgery. The clinical part presents a case report of a patient who underwent vaginal hysterectomy. The nursing process is based on the model by M. Gordon. A special attention is paid to the patient's mental state.

Their main purpose is to defend cells against oxidative stress. In order to support this process, we are taking substances called antioxidants either in regular diet or as dietary supplements. Recently there are a lot of companies on the market, offering the supplement, promising wight loss or defence against cancer. Green tea contains many natural substances, such as polyphenolic compounds which include catechins, which have proven effects on our bodies, but the specific way they act on selected antioxidant enzymes is still matter of study. The aim of this work was to determine the effect of green tea polyphenols on antioxidant enzymes in mice. We studied 8 groups (4 normal, obese 4) wherein the two groups were left as a control which means without administration of Polyphenon. Title of diploma thesis: The impact of cranberry extract and obesity on antioxidant enzymes in mice in vivo The obesity is the worldwide problem nowadays which threatens health of millions of people. The obesity is characterized as an excessive increase in the content of body adipose tissue. Increased quantity of adipocytes produces oxidized LDL particles which are deleterious for the body and damage the tissue of the organism. Fruit of Vaccinium macrocarpon contains range of natural substances. Proven effects of cranberries include action on the urinary tract infections, anti-atherogenic effects in the cardiovascular system, anticancer, antiulcer effect and also acts againts the development of the obesity. Most of these effects are largely determined by antioxidant actions of contained substances, particularly anthocyanidins. Social Inequalities in the Jakarta Metropolitan Area

This bachelor thesis deals with social inequalities in the Jakarta Metropolitan Area. It is focused on the problematic of social exclusion in relation with the distribution of different groups of the population in the metropolitan region - especially on the differences between core and peripheral areas. Monitoring of the social differences is set in the context of post-suburbanisation and the entire work is based on theories of postmodern urbanism. In the case of segregation of population it is primarily focused on the main reasons leading to this process - differences in ethnicity and ensuring security. In the context of higher degree of security it focuses on other indicators, which could be expected to be related with it. Data from the Indonesian Bureau of Statistics have been used in the processing. The results indicate that differences exist not only between the core and suburban areas, but also within the edges themselves. Breast cancer is the most common cancer disease in women. There is an extensive amount of therapeutic regimens for the treatment of this disease, but it is often limited by lack of efficiency or serious side effects. Isoflavonoids genistein (GEN), daidzein (DAID) and formononetin (FORM) belong among the natural substances with bioprotective effects on the human body. Some epidemiological studies have confirmed the protective effect of isoflavonoids against certain types of cancer, including breast cancer. The aim of this work was to study the effect of isoflavonoids on cancer cells and assess their ability to support the effect of cytostatics, namely anthracycline antineoplastic agents doxorubicin (Dox). For the experiments was chosen the breast cancer cell line MDA-MB-231. Scientists are striving to turn to nature and find the help there. One of the possible answers to their questions would be usage of natural substances in either prevention or even treatment of cancer. Isoflavonoids, polyphenolic compounds occurring e.g. in soybeans, are one of them. Many scientists have already tested their influence on the human body. This thesis focuses on the possible effect of isoflavonoids on the activity of enzymes participating in biotransformation of cytostatic drugs. Experiments were performed on human breast cancer cell lines MCF-7 and MDA- MB-231 exposed to isoflavonoids for 24, 48 and 72 hours. Cell line MCF-7 showed greater changes in the enzymatic activity than MDA-MB-231. Of the four enzymes tested (AKR1A1, AKR1C, CBR and GST), two enzymes showed no change in activity after exposure to isoflavonoids - enzymes CBR and AKR1C. Especially their beneficial effects on the human health are mostly studied. The popularity of dietary supplements with high levels of flavonoids is growing and thus they can affect a wide range of biotransformation enzymes and also the metabolism of many drugs. The aim of this diploma thesis was to find out how the selected catechins - catechin (C), epicatechin (EC), epicatechin-3-gallate (ECG), epigallocatechin (EGC), epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) and the green tea extract - polyphenon 60 (P) influence the viability of the Caco-2 cells and the activity and expression of the selected biotransformation enzymes in these cells - cytochromes P450 (CYP) isoforms 1A1, 1A2, and 3A, aldehydreductase (AKR1A1), aldo-ketoreductases 1C (AKR1C), carbonylreductase 1 (CBR1), UDP-glucuronosyltransferase (UGT), sulfotransferase (SULT) and glutathione S-transferase (GST).
