Pozitive and negative selection of mitochondrial genome
Svoboda, Matěj ; Škutková, Helena (referee) ; Maděránková, Denisa (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with positive and negative selection detection in mitochondrial genome of invertebrates and vertebrates. The component of this paper is to interpret the theory of evolution and evolution models. The main objective of this bachelor thesis is to formulate the algorithm package for a positive and negative selection detection in a program environment, RStudio. Consequently, outcomes of algorithm are compared to values acquired by tool PAML.
Pozitive and negative selection of mitochondrial genome
Svoboda, Matěj ; Kupková, Kristýna (referee) ; Maděránková, Denisa (advisor)
The bachelor thesis engages with problematics of positive and negative selection of mitochondrial genome. Thesis is divided into two parts. First part grapples with theory and explanation of fundamental definitions, in particular understates mitochondrial genome, nucleotide mutation, positive and negative selection and furthermore evolution models. Second part focuses on processing mitochondrial DNA practically and on establishing functions in programming environment R. The emphasis is foremost on gene sequencing alignment and exploring substitutions. Consequently, obtained outcomes are contrasted with PAML and KaKs Calculator programme outcomes.
Gebelein's inequality
Svoboda, Matěj ; Čoupek, Petr (advisor) ; Maslowski, Bohdan (referee)
In this thesis we deal with a correlation inequality for Gaussian random variables called Gebelein's inequality. In the first part of the thesis, we state the inequality, define Hermite polynomials, and derive several of their properties which we then use to prove the inequality. In the second part, we apply Gebelein's inequality in order to show that for normalized Gaussian sequences the Borel-Cantelli lemma and strong law of large numbers still hold when the assumption of independence is replaced by a sufficient fast decay of their correlation function. 1

Marketing significance of body image
Svoboda, Matěj ; Koudelka, Jan (advisor) ; Pešek, Ondřej (referee)
This master thesis focuses on proving the relevance and importance of body image in marketing. In theoretical part the thesis initially outlines basic marketing knowledge with special concentration on marketing research and segmentation. Next, sources of data and methodology used in the analytical part are described. In the analytical part itself the thesis firstly proves the relevance of body image as a segmentation variable on a few examples. First variable used for segmentation is the natural colour of hair, next variable used is the approach to own appearance and the last variable used is value orientation in context with body image. Finally this master thesis describes qualitative research on the topic influence of marketing on social perception of body image, that was carried out by the author.
