Assessment of motor skills and functional abilities in children with CP by correlation of Locomotor stages according to Vojta and the PEDI and TCMS tests.
Halámka, Jiří ; Šafářová, Marcela (advisor) ; Smetanová, Jana (referee)
The study evaluates the level of gross motor skills in pediatric patients with cerebral palsy (CP) using Vojta's Locomotor Stages, postural stability during sitting, and its influence on independence and mobility. The theoretical part of the study provides an overview of cerebral palsy, its classification, and diagnosis. It describes the utilization of current standardized scales employed in this diagnosis, specifically for assessing posture and postural stability while sitting. Furthermore, it summarizes knowledge about the functional abilities of children with CP (self-care, mobility, and social functions) in relation to psychomotor development. The primary objective was to determine the impact of gross motor skill levels on a child's trunk stability and to establish correlations between trunk stability and the independence and mobility of pediatric patients with cerebral palsy. Methodology: In the Practical part, we examined 25 pediatric patients with cerebral palsy using the Trunk Control Measurement Scale (TCMS), which is used to evaluate sitting stability in static and dynamic skills. Additionally, we queried the patients' parents using the standardized Pediatric Evaluation of Disability Inventory (PEDI) questionnaire, which is used to assess children's functional abilities in the areas of...
Ultrasound imaging of fascia in a context of motor developement
Kuldová, Ivana ; Quittková, Adéla (advisor) ; Smetanová, Jana (referee)
This diploma thesis is a pilot study for research of deep fascia of children with spastic cerebral palsy. It focuses on designing a protocol for sonographic evaluation of a deep fascia thickness in children and verifying it in practice. The theoretical of the thesis introduces recent findings on the structure, thickness, development, and aging of the fascial system. It also contains facts about cerebral palsy - particularly its spastic form and its influence on muscle tissue morphology. Additionally, it describes the principle of musculoskeletal ultrasound examination, with a target on the fascial system and muscle tissue. Methodology: The observational cross-sectional study included 39 children (25 boys and 14 girls). The children were divided by age into four groups: 0-3 years, 3-6 years, 6-12 years, and 12-18 years. The thickness was sonographically measured with highfrequency probe on the fascia brachii anterior and posterior, the fascia antebrachii anterior and posterior, the fascia cruris anterior and posterior and the fascia lata. Results: Based on the collected data, a low positive correlation was found between the thickness of the deep fascia in children and age (p=0,042; Spearman's rho 0,09). There was no influence of limb dominance on the thickness of the deep fascia (p=0,856) and either...
Interventions of Physiotherapy to Physical Education at Elementary School
SMETANOVÁ, Jana
This bachelor thesis deals with the possibilities of including elements of physiotherapy in physical education classes for children of younger school age. One of the most common causes of imbalances is the inappropriate lifestyle that children carry from their families. The point is that children spend most of their free time at the computer and on the phone, and at the same time they are overwhelmed by their hobbies, which put a lot of pressure on them in terms of performance. These are the reasons why schools in physical education should pay more attention to the compensation of these types of stress, in the form of including elements of physiotherapy in physical education classes. The work is divided into a theoretical part, which deals with the ontogenesis and characteristics of younger school age, the locomotor system and its function and a description of school physical education. The practical part, which was carried out in the form of mixed research involving 40 pupils of the second classes of elementary school and kindergarten Lišov, who were measured and based on mapping the most common imbalances, among which, among other things, poor posture was detected, exercise units were designed. In the practical part, case reports of 4 selected children from the monitored group are presented. However, during the research, due to the ongoing global pandemic of Covid-19, physical education was canceled and any physical activities were banned. The implementation of the experimental part of the work had to be moved to the online environment, to the Google Meet platform, thanks to which the exercise could continue Despite all the limitations, it can be said that the online exercise with physiotherapeutic elements was successful and an improvement in selected parameters of the kinesiological analysis can be observed in children. This work could be used not only as clinical material for physiotherapists but also as educational material for parents and teachers.
Intellectual property within the context of Art. 82 TEC
Smetanová, Jana ; Král, Richard (advisor) ; Svoboda, Petr (referee)
VIII Summary This paper considers the inherent tension between the intellectual property rights and the European Community competition law. Its purpose is to shed light on the circumstances under which an obligation to licence intellectual property right to other competitors can be imposed upon the owner of the right. At the outset the paper introduces intellectual property in the general terms and provides justification for its existence. Chapter 2 briefly discusses TRIPS agreement and international influence on intellectual property law. Chapter 3 deals with the exclusive and national character of intellectual property and describes the unification and harmonisation initiatives with regard to the individual types of intellectual property. It is further concerned with the competence of the European Community to legislate in this area. Chapter 4 deals with the tension between the principle of free movement of goods and services and intellectual property rights. It describes certain doctrines that have been developed by the European Court of Justice to reconcile the conflict between the principle and the exclusive character of intellectual property rights, namely the 'existence versus exercise of rights' and 'exhaustion of rights' doctrines. Moreover, the 'specific subject-matter' and 'essential function'...
