Evaluative Pragmatic Markers in Spanish and Their Respondents in Czech

This thesis deals with evaluative pragmatic markers in Spanish. It delimits them on the basis of literature from both Spanish and Czech ambient. Likewise, it defines the evaluative modal meaning. It concentrates primarily on the analysis of selected markers (afortunadamente, desafortunadamente, desgraciadamente, lamentablemente, por desgracia a por suerte) in the corpus InterCorp and it describes their translations to Czech. It characterizes the Czech respondents as emotional particles. Also, it summarizes clasifications of Spanish pragmatic markers and pays attention to evaluative adverbs of utterance in Spanish. Everything is based on the accessible relevant literature. Partly, the work focuses on the position of the markers in a sentence. It comes to a conclusion that the positive pragmatic markers por suerte and afortunadamente are mostly translated as naštěstí. The most frequent respondents of the other, semanticly negative markers, are bohužel and naneštěstí. Key words: Pragmatic markers, modal meaning evaluative, utterance, corpus, Spanish
Dubitative in Spanish and Its Czech Respondents

in English Dubitative in Spanish and Its Czech Respondents This bachelor thesis deals with the theme of dubitative in Spanish and its Czech respondents. It is divided into two parts: theoretical and analytical. The theoretical part pursues modal meaning potential probabilitive and discusses its ways of expression in both Spanish and Czech language. Then, it focuses on modal meaning interrogative and describes how dubitative is perceived by Spanish and Czech linguistic tradition. Furthermore, it determines our approach on dubitative. The analytical part is devoted to corpus analysis based on the parallel corpus InterCorp. The objective of this analysis is to identify the most frequent Czech respondents of dubitative in Spanish. Discourse Markers ¿eh?, ¿no?, ¿sabes? in Spanish and Their Equivalents in Czech and Slovak

This Bachelor's thesis deals with the Spanish discourse markers ¿eh?, ¿no?, ¿sabes? and explores their equivalents in Czech and Slovak. It consists of two parts, a theoretical one and a practical one. The theoretical part relies on Spanish and Czechoslovak respective traditions of stylistics and is focused on the conversational style. The aim of the practical part is initially to identify Czech and Slovak equivalents of the Spanish discourse markers in question in parallel text corpora InterCorp and par-skes-1.0, characterize the most common translation variants and evaluate their frequency. Consequently, the Spanish discourse markers together with their Czech and Slovak equivalents are analysed in spontaneous speech in spoken corpora Val.Es.Co, ORAL_v1 and s-hovor-6.0. Expression of Posteriority in Spanish through Indicative and Subjunctive

in English Expression of Posteriority in Spanish through Indicative and Subjunctive The aim of this thesis is to study those paradigms in indicative and subjunctive which express the absolute and relative posteriority in Spanish. Our thesis is based on the literature related with the topic and also on the language corpora. We study the particular paradigms, their contexts and the possibilities of their mutual alternation. A considerable part of the thesis is dedicated to the absolute posteriority. We study the paradigms in indicative not only with respect to the time delimitation but also in term of the context and attitude of the speaker. As for the paradigms in subjunctive, we focus on the types of subordinate clauses. In the chapter dedicated to the relative posteriority, we demonstrate which paradigms correspond to the paradigms in absolute posteriority. We briefly compare the situation in Spanish with the one in Czech. Based on the results of our case studies and information from literature, we came to the conclusion that it is not possible to simply classify the particular uses of the paradigms and that is important to take several factors into consideration, not only the distance of action from the moment of speech.
Sequence of Tenses in Spanish

in English Sequence of Tenses in Spanish Key words: sequence of tenses, past tense, relative tenses, simultaneity, posteriority, anteriority The aim of this thesis is to outline sequence of tenses in Spanish language. It is divided into two parts - theoretical and analytical. The first part focuses on the theoretical view of sequence of tenses, its key terms, relative anteriority, simultaneity and posteriority. It also briefly touches on similarities in the Czech language. Then, it focuses on the theoretical tendencies with an impact on the basic rules of sequence of tenses. The second part is dedicated to the practical corpus analysis based on Royal Spanish Academy's corpuses CREA and CORPES XXI. The objective of this analysis is to explore further the frequency of (non)observance of sequence of tenses in combination with the particular verb forms as well as analyse possible reasons of this nonobservance within a specific language material.
