Psychosocial factors affecting alcohol use in menopausal women

Background: Alcohol use during menopause in women is poorly mapped. Climacterium and the transition from reproductive life to life without menses are associated with many, not only health challenges. Aim: The aim of the research was to map the link between alcohol use and the period of menopause. Design of the work: Quantitative research is based on the analysis of data obtained through an anonymous questionnaire survey that took place on the Facebook page Menopause is not a pause. The questionnaire included two standardized questionnaires, namely the Kupperman index and the AUDIT test for the identification of alcohol use disorders. Research set: The research sample consisted of 89 respondents ranging from 40 to 55 years of age. This group was further divided into two groups, namely women who went through menopause (n = 35) and women who did not go through menopause (n = 54). Methods: Descriptive analysis was performed by methods of descriptive statistics. The hypotheses were verified using Spearman's nonparametric correlation coefficient and his statistical significance test. The Shapiro-Wilk test and the Mann-Whitney U test were also used. Analysis of implementation of governmental drug policy in Cheb region

The purpose of this thesis consists in describing and analyzing the state of implementation of anti-drug policy of the Government of the Czech Republic at the local level and in proposing possible measures to improve such state. Specifically, the Cheb region in Karlovy Vary Region is involved. In this bachelor's thesis, the anti-drug policy is described in its basic approaches, principles, international cooperation and institutional background and important documents. In the thesis, we also deal with the issue of the Czech drug scene, how and by which it was influenced, and how it was reflected in the anti-drug policy of the Czech Republic. It is later described in more detail in its coordination, strategy a respective documents. At the regional level, the thesis analyses the state of implementation of anti-drug policy of the Government of the Czech Republic, in particular with regard to its coordination and institutional background. Individual, social and cultural factors shaping the use of amphetamine-type stimulants in Europe

Background: Amphetamine-type stimulants (ATS) encompass a varied assortment of substances that possess comparable pharmacological effects and stimulant characteristics. ATS display diversity in patterns of use among different substances and users' sociodemographic characteristics. The utilization of ATS is associated with both favorable and unfavourable outcomes. The biopsychosocial model of substance use provides a comprehensive framework for understanding ATS use. Aims: The primary objective of this study is to cultivate a thorough comprehension of the motivating factors driving individuals to initiate, cease, escalate, and/or curtail their ATS use. Material and methods: In a mixed methods approach, qualitative interviews were conducted to explore distinct groups of ATS users and one group of non-ATS users. These qualitative interviews then informed standardized quantitative computer-assisted personal interviews that utilized a range of (standard) instruments. The interviews were carried out in five European Union member states, and a minimum of five years had to elapse between the first usage of or exposure to ATS and the conducted interview. Perception of the moral acceptability and riskiness of selected addictive substances among the adult population

The topic of this bachelor thesis is the perception of moral acceptability and riskiness of selected addictive substances in the adult population. The aim of this thesis is to describe the relationship between perception of moral acceptability and perception of riskiness of using selected substances between adult respondents based on a questionnaire survey. The research also attempts to map how attitudes differ in relation to gender, education, respondents' region of residence and their personal experience with addictive substances. The research sample consisted of 172 respondents, 128 women and 43 men. A minimum age of 18 years and voluntary participation were the prerequisites for entering the study. Respondents were selected by self-selection and snowball sampling methods. The thesis is based on the findings obtained through quantitative research, and the research instrument was an online questionnaire. The questionnaire was divided into four sections: basic socio-demographic data of the respondents, questions related to moral acceptability, questions related to the riskiness of substance use and additional questions. The needs analysis of the clients in drop-in centre with a drug consumption room in Berlin.

Background: Drug consumption rooms are a service where clients can consume illegal addictive substances under the supervision of trained staff. In some countries, drug consumption rooms have been in operation for over 30 years, and various studies provide positive results that acquaint us with the benefits that drug consumption rooms provide. However, this master thesis does not aim to focus on the already confirmed, but on the specific experiences and needs of individuals who are in almost daily contact with this type of service. The research was done in a low-threshold facility with a drug consumption room in Berlin named Birkenstube. This facility has been in operation since the beginning of 2004 and is thus one of the first facilities with a drug consumption room in the city of Berlin. Despite its long history, tradition and constantly changing needs of its clientele, the activity of this facility was last evaluated in the year 2015. Family Centre - the Resocialization of Mothers-Drug Addict

The work is monitoring activities and usefulness of Centre for family dealing with mothers on psychotropic addictive drugs and their re-socialization. For the possibility of examination of the programme usefulness for the target group, the single steps of the therapy are shown in a particular client case as followed during the three stages of the project. I also asked fifty clients about eleven questions. The aims of the Centre for family were the criterions for my choice of questions. The inquiry is monitoring the achieved level of re-socialization of clients. The contribution and reasonability of this project has been shown as based on the followed case, figures obtained in the inquiry and the Centre for Family results. The clients who got through the whole programme are stabilized, re-socialized and able to be a part of the society which is very significant for the growth and development of their children. This work is focused on the Centre for Family because of its uniqueness among the other institutions dealing with the drug problems. This thesis presents the problem of relapse of drug addictions. The relapse is presented as a possible constituent of the treatment of a drug addiction. It is the moment when client uses a drug once or repeatendly during a short time after the particular time of total abstinence. The thesis examines a process of aftercare which engages in relapse prevention. The most important topic is also a cooperation with client's family because of relapse prevention and as a kind of therapy for them in case of relapse their addicted relative. My thesis presents the relapse as a something natural. It doesn't have to be definitive and a client can make a instruction of it and continue in his abstinence successfully. Case study of a client included in methadone substitution programme

of bachelor thesis Keywords: methadone- susbstitution therapy- client- substitution programme-causes The bachelor thesis deals with the effect of client participation in the complete substitution treatment programme with methadone, which aims to demonstrate a positive effect not only on the client itself, but also on its vicinity. The theoretical part deals with methadone, its effects and the progressive placing into the treatment of addicted clients, firstly abroad and then in the Czech Republic. It deals with forms of treatment working in the Czech Republic with a detailed description of a complex substitution therapy. At the end of the theoretical part are discussed the causes of origin of an addiction on the addictive substances. The practical part is a case study of two clients - married couple, what describes in detail their life before the treatment, during the treatment and at her one year after the treatment, when she has been included in the substitution programme for ten years and is ending with a voluntary departure from the program with the zero dose of methadone - the client successfully abstains.
