Renaissance mural paintings and sgraffiti on the facades in town Prachatice
Žabková, Gabriela ; Zlatohlávek, Martin (advisor) ; Nespěšná Hamsíková, Magdaléna (referee)
Práce zpracovává renesanční fasádní nástěnné malby a sgrafita v Prachaticích.
Rajhrad Altarpiece
Špinková, Tereza ; Ottová, Michaela (advisor) ; Nespěšná Hamsíková, Magdaléna (referee)
English Summary: Rajhrad Altarpiece Rajhrad Altarpiece was made by bohemian painter in the first half of the fifteen century. To this day, it has been preserved six panels - two of them have been created for the width and they deal with the theme of Crucifixion and Christ Carrying the Cross. Other panels are composed for the height and they talked about the Last Supper, Prayer on the Mount of Olives and Resurrection. The last painting concerns about the Finding and Verification of Saint Cross. The altarpiece used to be dated around 1415-1430. Nowadays, Milena Bartlová, following the new archive material (which was discovered by Bohumil Zlámal, Ivo Hlobil a Kateřina Engstová), has changed the previous opinion. She moves the origin of the altarpiece towards the year 1452 and she suppose that the panels were originally intended for the church of St. Mauritz in Olomouc. Other explorers date these paintings by the year 1440. The author of Rajhrad Altarpiece came from the precedent style of painting which was characterized by the lyric moments, complicated draperies and far-away kind of faces. The artist completes this scheme by the interest in the action, structure of place and here and there, he is concerned in individual portraits. He is supposed to have seen this kind of "realistic" motives in the illuminated...

Víšková, Martina ; Nespěšná Hamsíková, Magdaléna (advisor) ; Šmied, Miroslav (referee)
The aim of the bachelor thesis "The architecture of Nelahozeves Castle" was to summarize existing knowledge and to compare different opinions. If it was possible I tried ground opinions which appear correct opposite other by arguments. Emphasis was set to architectural patterns of Sebastiano Serlio. Some of the questions stay still open for example the question authorship of Nelahozeves Castle. The first chapter of my thesis introduces historical and cultural context and also pays attention in detail to Florian Griespek, the builder of Nelahozeves Castle. In addition, it mentions his earlier construction of the castle in Kaceřov with which the object of my interest has some links. A reference to fortress architecture is also incorporated. This is followed by the main part of the work, the chapter on Nelahozeves Castle. After a general introduction and history of the village, a list of owners and somewhat complicated issue of construction process are presented. A relatively extensive section is devoted to the description and analysis of architecture with an emphasis on the books by Sebastiano Serlio. Links to the Italian and Czech buildings are also briefly mentioned. The last chapter addresses the difficult question of Nelahozeves Castle authorship and is concluded with an overall assessment of the building.

The Renaissance decoration of the Lobkovic (Schwarzenberg) palace in Prague
Henslová, Barbora ; Nespěšná Hamsíková, Magdaléna (advisor) ; Zlatohlávek, Martin (referee)
The Baccalaureate thesis, "The Renaissance decoration of the Lobkowicz (Schwarzenberg) Palace in Prague", starts with a brief introduction into construction activities of aristocracy around Prague Castle during the reign of Ferdinand I who supported building of new residences in this part of the capital. Aristocratic families were buying properties and burgher houses burned out in a devastating fire of Lesser Quarter and Hradcany in 1541 and building their grand Renaissance palaces. Prague's High Burgrave, Jan Junior Popel of Lobkowicz, had his impressive palace built on the Hradcany Square between 1545 and 1567. He called an Italian architect Agostino Galli, who worked at Horsovsky Tyn, the main country residence of the Lobkowicz family, and he built an unusually T-shaped palace. Four rooms on the second floor still have well-preserved original coffered ceilings with paintings depicting scenes from antique mythology and history. Chosen subjects of the paintings, created by some house painter around 1580 when the palace was the residence of Krystof and Vilem of Lobkowicz, were nothing unusual at that time. However, the author of this idea was rather Jan Junior Popel, one of the most powerful aristocrats in the Kingdom of Bohemia.

Late Gothic Murals of Žirovnice Castle
