Nejdlová, Tereza ; Hocková, Jana (advisor) ; Novák, František (referee)
My thesis is about enteral nutrition in intensive care with a focus on nurses. Enteral nutrition is a very hot topic not only in the field of intensive care, therefore my goal was to map the knowledge and experience of nurses in this important area of nursing. The final work consists of two parts. In the first part deals with the latest available knowledge in the field of enteral nutrition in intensive care in the country. This chapter contains individual subchapters consisting of definitions, indications, contraindications, distribution, technology and complications of enteral nutrition. In the second part I use research methods and statistical processing of data related to the enteral nutrition, and knowledge of nurses in this area. Prior research, I identified five hypotheses, which I after statistical processing of the questionnaires filled by the above- mentioned nurse intensive care or resuscitation, confirmed. The practical part is a discussion of the work and overall appreciation in the form of conclusions. I included the some topical pictures and diagrams to the appendix. Stöcklová, Lucie ; Heczková, Jana (advisor) ; Nejdlová, Tereza (referee)
Kidney transplantation is still the most succesful method of kidney failure treatment. Transplantations from living donors get ahead of transplantations from cadaveric donors due to better results. Transplantations from living donor can be planned and have less complications. Indisputable advantage is the possibility to perform transplantation before the onset of dialysis-premptively, which provides up to twice better patient survival compared to survival on dialysis. The empirical part is elaborated using the case study describing hospital stay of living kidney donors which describes the postoperative and specific nursing care of kidney transplant recipient. The aim of this thesis is to get to know nursing algorithms in the care of patients after kidney transplantation in intensive care unit and to give comprehensive review of kidney transplantation. keywords: Kidney transplantation - predialysis - living donor - nursing procedures - intensive care - care of kidney transplant recipient

Ježková, Kateřina ; Burišková, Klára (advisor) ; Nejdlová, Tereza (referee)
Introduction: The thesis "Alzheimer's disease and department of intensive care" deals with the specifics and difficulties of nursing care for patients with this chronic and degenerative disease in intensive care units (ICUs). The number of patients with Alzheimer's disease is constantly growing and caring for them in such specific wards is extremely demanding. The purpose of this thesis was to map the most problematic areas in the care provided and propose their solution. Methods and results: The empirical part presents the results of a conducted qualitative research which took place in the form of interviews with 10 general nurses who have experience with such patients. Following a word-for-word transcription of the obtained interviews, the results are summarized in a final discussion. They show that when caring for a patient with dementia, general nurses see the main problems in his decreased ability to cooperate, behavioral changes, which often appear as a result of environment change, and difficult communication. They consider the patient's confusion, his negativism, and the inability to find the right words to be communication barriers. This results in enormous demands on the caring staff's patience. The interviewed general nurses however approach patients with dementia generally positively...
