Banach Algebras
Machovičová, Tatiana ; Nechvátal, Luděk (referee) ; Franců, Jan (advisor)
By Banach algebra we mean Banach space enriched with a multiplication operation. It is a mathematical structure that is used in the non-periodic homogenization of composite materials. The theory of classical homogenization studies materials assuming the periodicity of the structure. For real materials, the assumption of a periodicity is not enough and is replaced by the so-called an abstract hypothesis based on a concept composed mainly of the spectrum of Banach algebra and Sigma convergence. This theory was introduced in 2004.
Newton and numerical mathematics
Obrátil, Štěpán ; Nechvátal, Luděk (referee) ; Zatočilová, Jitka (advisor)
Topic of this bachelor thesis are Newton's methods for numerical solutions of various problems. Especially the problems of solving nonlinear equations and systems of nonlinear equations, as well as numerical integration are explained. The Newton's method for solving nonlinear equations is presented, as well as its many modifications and its generalisation for systems of nonlinear equations. Usefulness of methods is demonstrated on various examples. In the end, Newton-Cotes quadrature formulae for numerical integration are presented.
Calculations and applications of fractional calculus
Zemčíková, Michaela ; Nechvátal, Luděk (referee) ; Čermák, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the calculations and applications of fractional calculus. The aim of this thesis is to mention some basic fundamentals, definitions and properties of fractional calculus, that will be used for calculations of fractional integrals and derivations of selected elementary functions focus on power functions. In next part thesis will be concerned with fractional diffusion equation, which describes subdiffusive processes. Its result will be compared with the standard diffusion.
Numerical Methods for Fractional Differential Equations Initial Value Problems
Lerch's theorem in the time-scales theory and its consequences for fractional calculus
Dolník, Matej ; Nechvátal, Luděk (referee) ; Kisela, Tomáš (advisor)
Hlavním zájmem diplomové práce je studium zobecněné nabla Laplaceové transformace na časových škálach a její jednoznačnosti, včetně důkazu jednoznačnosti a aplikace jednoznačnosti v zlomkovém kalkulu na časových škálach.
Continuous and discrete time attitude control of a vehicle
LQ-regulator design and its analysis for the aircraft's longitudinal and lateral motion
Prešinský, Ján ; Zatočilová, Jitka (referee) ; Nechvátal, Luděk (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on designing and specifying a linear quadratic regulator for longitudinal and lateral motion of the aircraft. The regulator is designed for a linear system obtained from a linearization of our nonlinear dynamic dynamic model of aircraft around the basic reference state (trimmed state-and-level ight). To nd a complete description of this reference state, some optimality problem has to be solved and the solution of this problem is called a trimmed state.
Modelling of the heat transfer by differential equations
Sklenářová, Lenka ; Tomášek, Petr (referee) ; Nechvátal, Luděk (advisor)
The thesis focuses on basic principals of heat transfer, on deduction of parabolic equation, on heat conduction in a rod, as well as in higher dimension, including discussion on boundary and initial conditions. The thesis deals with solving steady states in given environment where only one direction is significant.
Stability and chaotic behaviour of the Lorenz system
Oborná, Eliška ; Nechvátal, Luděk (referee) ; Čermák, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis analyzes the behavior of the Lorenz's model of convective flow in the atmosphere depending on the Rayleigh number. It offers several methods when analyzing stability of nonlinear systems of the first order autonomous differential equations. Part of the work also consists of introduction to deterministic chaos which appears in dynamic systems with a parameter. The work is supported by graphic interpretation of a stable and chaotic behavior by using the software Maple.
Differential equation with super-linearities in mathematical modelling of processes in mechanics
Maňáková, Lenka ; Nechvátal, Luděk (referee) ; Šremr, Jiří (advisor)
This work is focused on the qualitative study and interpretation of a certain differential equation with superlinearities. In particular, a question of the existence of equilibrium points and the drawing of phase portraits is investigated using the theory of dynamic systems, more precisely using Hamilton systems. The properties and types of solutions are illustrated in phase portraits.
