Havránková, Zuzana ; Vrzáček, Petr (advisor) ; Mertl, Jiří (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with field social care services in the Šluknov region, the border region of the Ústí nad Labem County. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on mapping regional coverage by the field care service providers and identifying obstacles to the development of their capacities. One of the possible barriers to the development of providers' capacities is considered the insufficient demand from the target group, due to unfamiliarity of new concepts of field care. The aim of the empirical part of this diploma thesis is therefore to know the attitude of potential clients towards field care services and to find out the preferences of personal care type. Data collected by qualitative questioning techniques are analysed by triple coding and interpretation of resulting categories and their relationships. Research findings concludes that there is distrust amongst potential clients towards field care services and show a significant degree of unfamiliarity with these services. People in need for care in the region tend to prefer the established way of solution, i.e. to care with their own strength, then use the offer of residential care services. Since the perception of field care services by residents has an impact on its usage, recommendations are focused on adjustments to working...

The thesis on Leadership in the Management of Social Services Organizations focuses on social service managers and explores how they strengthen and develop leadership skills. While some managers may rely primarily on their abilities and the application of leadership skills may be more intuitive, others may consciously apply specific leadership skills. The theoretical part of the thesis clarifies the concepts of management and leadership and describes the difference between managers and leaders. These concepts are then related to the context of social services and the topic of leadership skills and how they can be applied in the management of social services is further developed. Tichá, Tereza ; Hradcová, Dana (advisor) ; Mertl, Jiří (referee)

There is evidence from research that shows the effects of managers' behaviour on the quality and quantity of organisational performance therefore, this thesis focuses on the conditions organisations (can) create for good quality performance of line managers. The second part of this thesis is a description of participative action research that focuses on the practice of care for managers in one organisation. The research, together with line managers, describes practice and suggests changes based on the gained knowledge and the theoretical basis of this text. This practical example shows possible application of the principles of democratic caring practice in the management of an NGO - especially provider of social services. The theoretical part looks at the different areas of the health and social care system, which should work very closely together and be intertwined, but it turns out that even the separate disciplines have their shortcomings, making it even more difficult to link these systems together. The aim of the theoretical part is to introduce the different segments in the social and health fields, with a link to palliative care. The aim of the empirical part was to investigate, through qualitative research, the reasons for relatives or close friends of the patient (i.e., informal caregivers) to call the emergency medical services (EMS) for their loved ones who were terminally ill, to identify their needs. The resulting findings led to two outcomes from a social and a health care perspective. From the social perspective, the importance of engaging communication and how information is delivered to informal caregivers and supporting...
