Care for children with autism spectrum disorder from the perspective of their parents

Key words: autism, autism spectrum disorder, informal caregivers, parents, children with autism spectrum disorder, care, education Abstract: The aim of this bachelor thesis was to find out how parents of children with autism spectrum disorder reflect this fact. The theoretical part defines the autism spectrum disorders which are Infantile Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, Atypical Autism, Rett Syndrome and Childhood Disintegrative Disorder. The next chapter focuses on the process of coping with the diagnosis, describing its stages and coping and escape strategies. The next chapter describes the family with a child with autism spectrum disorder and the quality of life of families with a child with PAS. At the end of the theoretical section, the specifics of informal care and its negative consequences and benefits are defined. The practical part includes a description of the qualitative methodology and the second half of the paper presents an analysis of the research results. Burnout syndrome and the importance of psychohygiene in helping professions

(in English): The content of this bachelor's thesis is the issue of burnout syndrome and the importance of psychohygiene in the helping professions - specifically for teachers, health professionals and workers in social services. The aim of the work will be to find out what is the rate of occurrence of burnout syndrome in individual groups of helping professions, to compare them with each other, and at the same time to find out what is the level of awareness about mental hygiene across these groups. The work is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is primarily focused on explaining the main concepts, such as the helping profession, burnout syndrome and psychohygiene. The practical part then deals with research, where the main goal is to compare the incidence rate of burnout syndrome in individual groups of helping professions (pedagogues, health professionals and workers in social services). As a research method, the questionnaire survey method was used in the practical part. Social services for soldiers and veterans in the Czech Republic

The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of social services for war veterans on the territory of the Czech Republic. The work is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part deals primarily with the issue of the problems veterans can return home with, but also with, the care provided to war veterans.The practical part is devoted to research dominated by this research question: What is the status of social services for soldiers and veterans in the Czech Republic?. Here too, they are an important part of the sub-question that reads: How are these services used?, or what other services are needed?. The main aim is to map as comprehensively as possible the current state of social services for war veterans on the territory of the Czech Republic and to find out what experience veterans have with them.
The Role of a Social Worker in the System of Therapy of Multiple Sclerosis

The aim of this diploma thesis is to answer the main research question: What is the role of a social worker in the system of therapy of multiple sclerosis? The theses is divided into three parts - theoretical, methodological and interpretive one. The theoretical part contains the definition of relevant terms and it is divided into two chapters. The first of them focuses on multiple sclerosis its attributes and consequences, the second one follows it up with descriptions of individual parts and treatment options, including psychological and social support. The methodological part of the diploma thesis presents, the research strategy, sample selection and operationalized sub-questions. Qualitative research was used in the thesis, specifically the method of semi-structured interviews, which were conducted with two groups of respondents - social workers and people with multiple sclerosis. Data were processed using open coding and then were interpreted. The third part of the work is devoted to the interpretation and research results. Ethical dilemmas of shelter workers for families with children and possibilities of their solution

This bachelor thesis deals with the ethical dilemmas of workers in shelters for families with children and the possibilities of their solution. The theoretical part is focused at first on shelters in the Czech Republic, then on one specific shelter for families with children and finally on ethical dilemmas. The practical part contains a description of the qualitative research approach. It includes the area and metodology of research, the technique of data collection, specific partial research questions and also the research and survey unit. The interpretation part focuses on outputs detected through semi-structured interviews realized with nine workers (2 workers of social services and 7 social or managerial workers) in four different shelters in the Czech Republic. In this section, the reader is acquainted with the most important ethical dilemmas of these employees. In the end of the practical part is the answer to the main research question "what dilemmas do shelter workers consider to be the most serious and in what ways do they solve them?".

anglicky This diploma thesis deals with the topic of communication with people suffering from dementia. Dementia is a syndrome caused by a progressive brain disease in which cognitive functions deteriorate, such as memory, thinking and orientation. The aim of the work is to find out how workers communicate with clients with dementia and whether they have sufficient support and space from their employer. The theoretical part will specify the dementia syndrome, describe its causes and impact on humans, there will be described approaches and ways of working with this target group. The research will take place in a mixed form, where one part will take place through interviews with workers and the other in the form of anonymous questionnaires.
The profile of an enducationist in children's homes

This dissertation presents the general profile of an educationist in a children's home. It views the profession from two points: both individual aspect of its performance and from up-to-date state of children's homes and possibilities of institutional upbringing. The dissertation links theoretically defined legal, pedagogical and social context of institutional upbringing with actual working of children's homes and work of educationals in them. One partial goal of this dissertation was to answer following questions: What are the conditions of working in this profession? What singificant factors is it influenced by? What troubles may be hidden in educationst's job? What possibilities does it, on the other hand, offer? Different subjects were studied in five different children's homes, in Prague, Central Bohemia and in the district of Zlín. I focused on non-private children's homes. The method used in theoretical part is secondary analysis of available literature and references. Practical part of qualitative research is based on semi-structured interviews I conducted with 14 educationists. Zájemcům o činnost terénních HR služeb, ale i novým pracovníkům tato práce poskytuje shrnutí zkušeností z praxe a nabízí srovnání jejich přístupu a východisek s jedním z nejstarších programů v HR službách. Práce se dá využít jako podklad při přípravě školících materiálů, nebo koncepce nízkoprahových terénních služeb pro intravenózní uživatele drog ve větších městech s otevřenou drogovou scénou. Jako koncepce je aplikovatelná i v menších sídelních lokalitách specifických uzavřenou scénou. Jako důležitý se jeví fakt, že v rámci zkvalitňování sociálních služeb probíhá certifikace kvality protidrogových programů a oba terénní programy Drop in jsou úspěšně certifikovanou službou, která může poskytnout příklad dobré praxe při zachování specifického přístupu společnosti Drop in. Cílem práce je podat ucelené a prakticky orientované informace pro nově vznikající programy a zároveň sloužit jako podpůrný informační materiál pro pracovníky v terénních protidrogových službách. Těžištěm práce je příklad dobré praxe, její konkrétní využitelnost pro stávající i nově vzniklá zařízení. a reflexe deseti let osobních zkušeností (1997-2007) s fungováním a prací v terénních programech Drop in, o.p.s. v pozici "streetworkera" a vedoucího těchto programů.
Evaluation of social activation services for visually impaired people in the organization TyfloCentrum Karlovy Vary, o.p.s.

The aim of my bachelor thesis is to find out whether the users of TyfloCentrum in Karlovy Vary are satisfied with the social-activation service provided to them, how they benefit from such a service and what shortcomings thereof they have experienced. Subsequently, the findings will be provided to the management of the organization as a feedback serving for the improvement of the service. This thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The former defines the theoretical basis and terms. The main focus is on the target group of the persons having sight impairment, the social services system with emphasis on the social-activation service and the provision of the basic information regarding the organization TyfloCentrum in Karlovy Vary. The second part is practical and deals with the analysis and interpretation of the data gathered by way of a semi-structured interview during the research. At the end of the work, an overall evaluation of the service in question as well, as several recommendations for its improvement are provided. Elimination of Barriers in Programmes of Czech Television for People with a Hearing Disability

(in English): This bachelor thesis deals with closed subtitles as a means to remove barriers in terms of access to programmes broadcasted by Czech Television for viewers with hearing disabilities. The theoretical part provides a general view at the target audience and their communication specifics that may affect their closed subtitles usage. Attention is also paid to the statutory framework which sets out the obligation to provide a certain percentage of broadcasted programmes with closed subtitles and to the extent of fulfillment of the legal obligations. The possibilities of providing pre-recorded programmes with closed subtitles are discussed as well. The practical part reports a research probe focused on the satisfaction of hearingimpaired viewers with services of Czech Television.
