Analysis of the effectiveness of the photocatalytic effect in surface treatments

The thesis deals with the possible use of the photocatalytic effect in construction practice. Surfaces with this type of treatment have the ability of a so-called self-cleaning effect. Based on the research, the basic principles of the evaluation of photocatalytic substances and its possible applications were written down. Furthermore, the issue of staining facade plasters was outlined. The goal was to analyze the effectiveness of the photocatalytic effect in surface treatments. A photocatalyst of two types (anatase and rutile) and two rounds (2% and 5%) was added to the plaster mix. Next, the samples were contaminated with dyes and dust particles, and then the samples were placed in the QUV tester or exposed to outdoor climatic conditions. The photoactivity of individual plaster mixtures was evaluated on the samples based on color changes during testing. Plaster with TiO2 in the form of anatas dosed in 5%, according to a modified evaluation based on UNI 11259 and JIS 1703-2:2007 standards, photocatalytic properties, and thus a self cleaning process occurred.

New possibilities of using superabsorbent polymers in cement composites

The work deals with the influence of superabsorbent polymers (SAP) on the structure and properties of cement composites. SAPs excel in their unique ability to hold large amounts of water. This property can be used in hydration processes for internal curing of concrete. Two types of mixtures were tested in cement paste, which were further modified by two types of SAP. SAPs were always used in two dosing modes (dry, in suspension). The samples were then stored for 28 days in a laboratory conditions, respectively. in an conditions with a temperature of 30 °C. Physical and mechanical properties, such as compressive strength, flexural tensile strength and bulk density, were determined. The addition of SAP to the mixture resulted in an increase in tensile strength of almost twofold. It can therefore be concluded that SAP helped with hydration processes.

Socioculturally disadvantaged environment and its influence on pre-school child

SUMMARY: The thesis describes a situation of the part of inhabitants of the Czech Republic that are currently regarded as socio-culturally disadvantaged. It aims to term factors that endanger a healthy and harmonic development of children living in a socio-culturally disadvantaged environment. The means of child protection are specified on international and national level and the current legislation in this field is reviewed. The thesis also deals with the position of ethnic minorities in the Czech Republic and concentrates on Romany minority. On the example of one city district of Prague is presented the lifestyle of Romany community, their cohabitation with the majority and their usage of Romany ethnolect. Possible causes of formation of socially excluded communities are listed together with social and health risks for Romany people that concentrate in such local communities. The situation in the field of education of pre-school children coming from a socio-culturally disadvantaged environment is described and legislative and executive measures to support their access to education are reviewed. Social determinants of health are termed and their impact on Roma community in the Czech Republic is assessed. Sowohl der europäische, als auch der tschechische Markt für Bioprodukte wächst, und mit ihm auch die Anzahl der Kennzeichen, Logos und Versprechen, die im Verbraucher den Eindruck von ökologischer Verträglichkeit oder Nachhaltigkeit erwecken sollen. Diese Arbeit hinterfragt den rechtlichen Rahmen der Bioprodukte und überprüft dementsprechend, welche Regelungen auf dem Gebiet schon bestehen, auf welche Gebiete diese sich beziehen und, ob diese Regelungen in der Praxis wirklich genügen. Gerade, weil auch der tschechische Verbraucher immer mehr Kaufentscheidungen von Kriterien der Nachhaltigkeit und seinem Umweltbewusstsein abhängig macht, ist das Thema rechtswissenschaftlich sehr relevant. Diese Arbeit analysiert die europäische Regelung, hauptsächlich die "Ökologische Landwirtschaftsverordnung", aber auch die nationale tschechische Regelung, das "Ökologische Landwirtschaftsgesetz", da die Gestaltung des Kontrollsystems der Produkte und andere organisatorische Regelungen den Mitgliedstaaten überlassen werden. Näher befasst sich die Arbeit hauptsächlich mit Problemen der ökologischen Landwirtschaft in der Tschechischen Republik und deren rechtlichen Hintergrund. Comparative analysis of language and communication skills in written communiqué by students from the 4th year of high school. Language level based assessment of stylistic writings

This rigorous paper deals with analysis of language and communication competence in written messages created in 2014. The analyzed sample comes from students attending grammar school, grammar school for 11-19 year old students, secondary technical school and secondary vocational school extension study. The theoretical part defines the communication and language competences, as well as the principles of their acquiring in the structure of communicative strategies during secondary education. This paper's further aim is to deal with the writing part of the leaving examination criteria and assessment. The second part introduces comparative analysis of authentic texts aimed at the level of those two competences mentioned above and at objectivity of the writing assessments made by teachers at particular schools. Samples of analysed texts, specialized literature quotations, diagrams, charts and an appendix are part of this work. The certificate from the Czech language writing evaluator and a point scale for writing assessments are enclosed, too. The Puritan view of death: attitudes toward death and dying in Puritan New England

The Puritan attitude toward death in seventeenth- and early eighteenth-century New England was ambivalent and contained both terror at the possibility of eternal damnation and hope for deliverance. The joyful theme of the migratio ad Dominum resonated with the Saints only at times when they were convinced divine grace was actively working in their lives, but when they saw they were backsliding, the horror of death prevailed. Puritan anxiety about death was caused by tensions inherent in the doctrine of predestination, which implied man's dependence on God's inscrutability, and in the doctrine of assurance, which implied that self-doubt was more desirable than full assurance of salvation. What complicated any verification of the presence of grace was man's endless potential for self-deception. Memento mori gave urgency to the Puritan work ethic and the effective use of time. The anxiety about one's destiny began in early childhood when death and its ensuing horrors for the depraved were used as a means of religious instruction to provoke spiritual precocity and conversion. This early immersion into the discourse about death has been erroneously interpreted as a proof of the non-existence of childhood in Puritan New England.
