The issue of breastfeeding on newborn intensive care unit.
Skuhrová, Kateřina ; Kulhavá, Miluše (advisor) ; Heczková, Jana (referee)
v anglickém jazyce This bachelor thesis examines the topic of breastfeeding in newborn intensive care units (ICUs). Breastfeeding and feeding babies with mother's milk is one of the best and the most natural ways of nutrition after birth. It is irreplaceable and, at the same time, very convenient for the baby and the mother. The thesis focuses on the problem of separating mothers from their babies after birth when the newborns are hospitalized in an ICU. The newborns therefore cannot be in constant contact with their mothers and thus cannot be regularly breastfed. The thesis comprises a theoretical and an empirical part. In the first chapter of the theoretical part of the thesis, I describe the anatomy of the mammary gland, lactation physiology and the composition of mother's milk. The next chapter pays a great deal of attention to the issues related to newborn ICUs where not only prematurely born children are placed, but also children with worsened afterbirth adaptation, hypoxia, infections, various genetic defects and children of drug-addicted mothers. The last chapter is dedicated to the significance and benefits of breastfeeding, pumping and storing mother's milk, and alternative ways of feeding newborns in ICUs. The last part of this chapter addresses the Lactation League, lactation...

Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Drug Control Candidate Mgr. Jana Heczková Consultant Doc. RNDr. Veronika Opletalová, Ph.D. Title of Thesis Acetylpyrazin-thiosemicarbazone analogues as potential drugs In the theoretical part of this thesis new findings on antifungal and antibacterial effects of thiosemicarbazones published in 2005 - 2012 were described. Thiosemicarbazones have a very broad range of antimicrobial activity, their effects are in many cases comparable or even better than already used pharmaceuticals. In the experimental part, the preparation procedures of thiosemicarbazones were described and following 7 compounds were prepared:  (2E)-2-[1-(pyridine-2-yl)ethylidene]hydrazinecarbothioamide  (2E)-2-[1-(pyridine-3-yl)ethylidene]hydrazinecarbothioamide  (2E)-2-[1-(pyridine-4-yl)ethylidene]hydrazinecarbothioamide  (2E)-2-[1-(2-hydroxyphenyl)ethylidene]hydrazinecarbothioamide  (2E)-2-(2-hydroxybenzylidene)hydrazinecarbothioamide  (2E)-2-[1-(2-hydroxyphenyl)ethylidene]-N,N-dimethylhydrazinecarbothioamide  (2E)-2-(2-hydroxybenzylidene)-N,N-dimethylhydrazinecarbothioamide All prepared thiosemicarbazones were characterized by melting point, IR and NMR spectra. Purity was verified by elemental analysis. The...

Kloubcová, Lenka ; Hošťálková, Monika (advisor) ; Heczková, Jana (referee)
Bachelor thesis is focused on assessing the quality of patient education nurse anesthetist. Patient education is considered from the perspective of nurse anesthesia. The theoretical part of this work is devoted to general anesthesia characteristics, definitions and history of anesthesia. The following section deals with different types of anesthesia, complications of anesthesia and drugs used in anesthesia. Furthermore, the work focuses on the characteristics of the patient before, during and after anesthesia, and the specifics of the individual parts of anesthesia from the viewpoint of anesthesia nurses. The last chapter includes the very concept of education and the importance of good communication with the patient throughout the preparation of the patient for anesthesia. The basis of this work is a quantitative research ideas anesthesia nurses by anonymous questionnaires. Here the sisters reflect the stated objectives of work. The stated goal of the work is to identify the knowledge of anesthesia nursing Educational process, whether anesthesiology nurses involved in patient education before elective surgery and anesthesia nurses whether they have created suitable conditions for patient education. These objectives were met. As a possible solution for improving the efficiency of education could...
Origin and Evolution of the Head Nurse Position
Chýšková, Eliška ; Marková, Eva (advisor) ; Heczková, Jana (referee)
The theme of the bachelor thesis "Origin and Evolution of the Head Nurse Position" is a more detailed description of the origin and development of the head nurse from the beginning of the position until present time. An integral part of the work is the beginnings of nursing in the monasteries that are related to origins of the position. Historical development is divided from the beginning of the 19th century until World War II, then through the development of post war years until today, when the view of the head nurse role is mainly in the mid-level manager. The head nurse leads the clinic or department and is responsible for planning and professional growth of staff and evaluation of quality of care. It cannot be omitted the education of head nurses, which was influenced by the Act No. 20/1966 Coll., on the obligation of health professionals to continual education. Education is divided into undergraduate and postgraduate. In the practical part, there are discussed in more detail the main goals of the thesis, that is the analysis of the work of head nurse and education of the head staff since the beginning of the 20th century, by one of the methods of qualitative analysis in the form of analysis of written documents. The goal was to find out the content of the work of head nurse in the changes of...
Synthesis of carboxyxanthone derivatives as building blocks for enantiomeric pure compounds. Synthesis and structure elucidation of xanthone derivative (XD) 2-carboxy-6-methoxyxanthone (XD-2)
Heczková, Jana ; Opletalová, Veronika (advisor) ; Zimčík, Petr (referee)
Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Drug Control Candidate Jana Heczková Consultant Professora Doutora Madalena Maria de Magalhães Pinto, Assoc. Prof. RNDr. Veronika Opletalová, Ph.D. Title of Thesis Synthesis of carboxyxanthone derivatives as building blocks for enantiomeric pure compounds. Synthesis and structure elucidation of xanthone derivative (XD) 2-carboxy-6-methoxyxanthone (XD-2) The importance of xanthone derivatives is considerable. They possess large variety of biological and pharmacological activities. Many of them proved to be important building blocks for synthesis of new compounds. Chirality is a fundamental property of biological systems and reflects the underlying asymmetry of matter. Almost one-third of all drug sales worldwide are chiral compounds and the authorities recommend that the chiral drugs should be saled in pure enantiomeric forms because enantiomers may differ both quantitatively and qualitatively in their biological activities. At one extreme, one enantiomer may be devoid of any biological activity; at the other extreme, both enantiomers may have qualitatively different biological activities. Enantiomers also differ in bioavailability - one enantiomer can be more bioavailable than the other,...
Nurse and Evaluating the Range of Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit
Ševčíková, Sylvie ; Eislerová, Iva (advisor) ; Heczková, Jana (referee)
This diploma thesis investigates to what degree the evaluative and measuring techniques are used when assessing separate areas of condition of a neurosurgical patient in intensive care. The reason why I have chosen this topic was the increasing demands on nurses' performance and medical documentation as well. The rating scales method enables in a standard and proved way to assess the patient's condition and document the gained data. The rating scale, when used properly, can also make nurses' work easier. The first part of this diploma thesis focuses on definitions important to this topic. The second part is focused on processing scales used for the neurosurgical patient in intensive care. I have chosen the most used methods which are used for assessment of the patient's consciousness and the extent of sedation, assessment of severity of thrombophlebitis, pressure ulcer risk assessment, assessment of nutritional status, pain and fall risk assessment, evaluation of muscle strength and final evaluation of the patient's condition. In the practical part the anonymous questionnaire was used for investigation. There were 105 questionnaires from eight wards of three different hospitals evaluated. Key words: rating scale, neurosurgical patient, intensive care unit, risks to the patient, evaluation of the patient
