The diploma thesis is focused on city in time and age of artificial lighting. It takes the issue of light pollution as its starting point. Firstly, I tried to answer the question about sources of the shape contemporary city has taken upon itself. The rest is focused on building public spaces in regard to their nighttime flow. The final chapter is exploring the object of Corso. At first It is trying to take a look at the context of the city part of Krásné Březno, then it is taking a look at the city part in context of Ústí nad Labem. Selected Art Techniques in Figural Painting
Škábová, Sandra ; Gajdošíková, Pavla (advisor) ; Daniel, Ladislav (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with selected painting approaches in figurative art. The theoretical part describes the basic principles of traditional and digital painting techniques by placing them in a historical context. It compares key craft qualities while highlighting common difficulties in painting. It showcases contemporary painters working within the selected techniques and the figurative subject matter. It analyzes individual approaches to the human figure, ranging from realist painting to distinctive versions of stylization in modern and contemporary art. The subsequent artistic part presents the author's own figurative work in the form of the painting series Siblings, to which she applies the same framework as the theoretical part of the thesis. The attached reflection of the author is interpreted and visualized using the characteristic features of selected artists' works, which exhibit the same aspects of creation as the Siblings. The narrative component of the author's work already resides in the private world of the artist and explores its imprint in the subjects depicted. The results obtained further inspire the didactic part and build the design of the lesson on the foundations stemming from the experiences gained through the painting series. Through the insights gained from the careful...
The Phenomenon of the Journey in Artistic Areation and in the Pedagogical Work
Novotná, Karolína ; Gajdošíková, Pavla (advisor) ; Kitzbergerová, Leonora (referee)
This thesis is focused on exploring aspects and visions of the journey and their meaning, both in concrete and metaphorical terms. In one perspective, the path is interpreted as a link between specific points, while in the other as a tool to reach a specific goal. In such a context, the journey becomes an integral part of the process towards achieving a particular goal, which can be anything from reaching a specific destination to fulfilling a life dream or mission. In this context, the interaction between the journey and the destination is crucial. The artistic component of the work is a personal diary, which contains fragments from various journeys, captured in watercolour. The diary is enriched with drawings and texts that reflect authentic travel experiences. This diary, as well as the theme of "The Phenomenon of Travel", has become an inspirational source for didactic projects that explore the concept of travel, whether in an artistic or pedagogical context. The aim of this thesis is to explore the different aspects and perspectives of the journey, both on a concrete and metaphorical level, and to translate them into didactic projects. The thesis also gives examples of diary-themed exhibitions. Visual artists who employ some of the characteristics of diary entries in their work are listed to understand the diversity of diaries. The text also addresses why drawing is the primary medium of these narratives and the significance of the engagement with diary work. In the practical part, the author has implemented diary principles in her project, producing four large-scale drawings made for four consecutive months. Each day's observations and thoughts were recorded on a sheet of paper. Said paper thus became a specific visual record of experiences reflecting the period in which they were created. The insights from this project and the theoretical foundation were the starting point for the final part, the didactic one. The didactic portion of the...

Linocut in Art Education (Contemporary Printmaking)
Havlíková, Margita ; Raudenský, Martin (advisor) ; Gajdošíková, Pavla (referee)
The bachelor's thesis Linocut in art education (contemporary printmaking) consists of three parts. In the theoretical part, I discuss the characteristics of graphics, with a special focus on a linocut. I describe in detail the history of linocut in Czechia and the world and, subsequently, its place in contemporary authors' work. Additionally, I have clarified the concept of the terms "game" and "bestiary", that I use in the didactic and practical part. The goal of my work is to highlight the linocut and its technique as a convenient tool for art education classes. In the didactic part, I designed a series of lessons whose central theme is an imaginary animal. In the beginning, the students are motivated by the "Imaginary animal" game. Subsequently, they create a drawing proposal and then use it during the linocut creation itself. The bachelor's thesis is concluded by my own author's creation, which is based on the already mentioned game "Imaginary animal".
