Interaction of phospholipids with polyelectrolytes in aqueous medium
Maivaldová, Iva ; RNDr.Miroslav Gál, Ph.D. (referee) ; Klučáková, Martina (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on determination of aggregation behavior of selected phospholipids (lecithin; 1,2-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycerol-3-phosphocholine) in water and on the effect of native hyaluronan addition of various molecular weights and concentrations on this behavior. The behavior has been investigated with fluorescence spectroscopy using pyrene and perylene as fluorescence probes being able to penetrate into hydrophobic cavities of formed aggregates. Critical aggregation concentration and the concentration at which lecithin begins to aggregate have been determined. Regarding 1,2-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycerol-3-phosphocholine, it was possible to determine only the beginning of aggregation value. The values of this parameter for lecithin and for 1,2-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycerol-3-phosphocholine correspond in the order. It has been investigated, that the addition of native hyaluronan has only in some systems slight effect on the aggregate behavior of selected phospholipids.
Low-grade heat recovery in industrial processes
Novák, Michal ; Gal, Pavel (referee) ; Havlásek, Martin (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is focused on the waste heat recovery options from industrial processes. The first part is the theoretical introduction into the problematics of the heat transfer. In the next part the most common waste heat sources are presented. The third part summarizes the methods for waste heat recovery. The last, practical part presents the implementation of the waste heat recovery system into the real operation.
Similar solution identification in the field of stochastic simulation related to waste management
Gal, Pavel ; Frýba, Lukáš (referee) ; Šomplák, Radovan (advisor)
The Master’s thesis deals with the issue of collecting mixed municipal waste from producers to a~waste-to-energy or landfills. The initial chapters are aimed to waste legislation and transportation of the waste by road freight transport across Europe. The objective is to collect the data, that are required for calculation in tool NERUDA. The next part describes the cluster analysis and different approaches in it. The selected methods of cluster analysis are apllied to the logistic task in the final chapters. The cluster analysis is considered from different aspects. The results are visualized using the software ArcGIS.
2-D external aerodynamics of an unusual shaped body
Mohyla, Daniel ; Gal, Pavel (referee) ; Dohnal, Miloslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on analysis of flow over a cylindrical rod in 2-D space by using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) with turbulence models k- SST and k- SSTSAS. First part of this thesis is meant to be an introduction to the topic of extrernal flow and CFD. In this part the topics of flow separation, turblence modeling and various related models are discussed. Second part deals with the description of simulation case inside of open source CFD software called OpenFOAM and the obtained results. In last part the disccusion about results is carried out and results are compared.
Proposal of Marketing Communication of the Bachelor's Study Program
Gál, Patrik ; Mráček, Pavel (referee) ; Kaňovská, Lucie (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the proposal of marketing communication of the bachelor’s study program Process Management taught at Brno University of Technology Faculty of Business and Management. The thesis is divided to three main parts. The theoretical part describes individual knowledge of marketing and the focus group research method. The analytical part focuses on describing the current state and final proposals of marketing communication of the study program are based on previous analysis outputs.
Household waste transport
Gal, Pavel ; Frýba, Lukáš (referee) ; Pavlas, Martin (advisor)
Bachelor's thesis deals with issue of collection of mixed municipal waste to waste-to-energy. The main part is aimed to transportation of waste using rail freight or road freight transport. It shows the advantages of rail transport and compares transport in term of emissions and economy. The final chapter deals with preparation data for optimization problem and visualization of them using software ArcGIS.
Efficiency of gas microturbines
Slovák, Rostislav ; Gal, Pavel (referee) ; Havlásek, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on gas microturbines and engines. The text is devided into five parts. The first part is an introduction to the issue of cogeneration technology. The second chapter describes principles of microturbines, including the calculation of theoretical efficiency. The third part offers a descrtiption of gas engines. The fourth part compares gas microturbines with gas engines based on producers catalog values. The last chapter describes the experimental finding of the efficiency of Capstone C30 microturbine and offers a comparison of the theoretical, catalog and experimental values, whilst explaining differences.
Solution of machine frame
Gál, Petr ; Nosterský, František (referee) ; Pokorný, Přemysl (advisor)
This thesis deals with the creation of optimalization data of rollway frame for transport handling units. Optimalization is performed on the basis of the size of load handling unit and the subsequent deflection of the profile. The solution is carried out analytically and the results are compared with FEM program outputs.
Microwave induced pyrolysis of biomass
Šmarda, Marek ; Gal, Pavel (referee) ; Jícha, Jaroslav (advisor)
In this bachelor thesis there are informations about different methods of processing organic nature substrate with a focus on a waste processing using microwave pyrolysis. In sum it is possible to say that microwave pyrolysis is a progressive solution to process waste substrate. Due to evenly and rapid heating of organic nature substrate, this method is more effective compared to conventional methods of waste disposal. The result of this work is to submit information on processing waste substrate in the form of microwave analysis and subsequent economic evaluation.
Absorption of ammonia from an operational accident in the ice stadium
Ryšková, Marie ; Gal, Pavel (referee) ; Jecha, David (advisor)
This thesis deals with ammonia absorption in case of cooling machine breakdown at ice pool. Thesis is divided into four chapters. Theoretical part is focused on different methods of cooling an ice rink inside a stadium. Two basic principles are mentioned, how ice rink is created and what refrigerant is used. In the next part are listed valid standards, according to which the operators of ice pools proceed or may proceed to ensure technical safety. Essentials of emergency plan and breakdown preventions are also mentioned. Primary theoretical part focuses on gas cleansing by absorption and its basic principle, which includes Fick's first law, following with introduction to different kinds of absorption machines and its principles. Last chapter is a practical one, in which is the elimination of leaked ammonia by ventilation method and more ecological way – ventilation method with absorber. This cleansing method issue is dealt with mathematically by calculating absorbed gas to liquid using software MathCad.
