Assessing Selected Indicators Using Time Series

Bachelor's thesis analyses selected indicators using time series of the company M Computers s.r.o. Analysis of indicators is divided into two parts. The first part focuses on the theory about selected indicators and description of time series. The second part analyses indicators and their expected development in years 2013 and 2014. The work contains proposals for improving the financial situation of the company.

The analysis of internal and external environment of the company will lead to new suggested communication strategy. This new communication strategy could be helpful in effective winning of new customers in the market.

Optimazation of Tax Burden of an Individual

This bachelor thesis is focused on the taxation of individuals in the Czech Repubic and on the possibilities of optimizing the tax liability. The theoretical part explains the basic concepts in connection with personal income tax. There are four variants proposed with the possibilities of optimizing the tax liability of the income taxpayer in the practilal parth. There is the best variant of income tax optimization of a specific taxpayer selected at the end of the bachelor´s thesis.

Study of excitonic interactions in light harvesting complexes

The thesis explores the possible presence of exciton interaction in phycobilisomes, the large pigment-protein light-harvesting complexes occurring mainly in cyanobacteria. The technique of two-dimensional electron spectroscopy, which provides a resolution on the femtosecond scale and is sensitive to exciton interactions, was used to study phycobiliso- mes of cyanobacteria thermosynechococcus elongatus. A possible model of energy levels of phycobilisomes and the flow of excitatory energy between them was constructed from the obtained data measured on the spectral range of approximately 590 to 700 nm. The data indicate the likely presence of exciton interaction between 3 pairs of electron states. 1

Preparation and characterization of solar cells sensitized by bacteriochlorophyll a

In this work, we explored the potential of bacteriochlorophyll a for its use in dye-sensitized solar cells. Bacteriochlorophyll a absorbs in the near-infrared spectral region where most of the pigments tested in dye-sensitized solar cells absorb poorly. It turned out that bacteriochlorophyll a rapidly oxidize to chlorophyl-like molecule at aerobic conditions, what is connected with an undesirable shift of the main absorption band to the shorter wavelengths. Therefore we prepared also several derivatives of bacteriochlorophyll a with similar absorption and tested their stability. We also studied a performance of solar cells with bacteriochlorophyll a and those derivatives, namely bacteriopurpurin, bacteriochlorophyllin and bacteriochlorin. It turned out that bacteriochlorin is the most stable of all the tested pigments. Moreover, it exhibits the best performance when used in the dye-sensitize solar cell.

Excitation Energy Transfer in Photosynthetic Reaction Centres

The photosynthetic reaction centres have uppermost importance in photosynthesis. They represent the actual place where the energy carried by photons is turned into charge-separated states which then enable to establish the electrochemical H+ transmembrane gradient used by ATP synthases. The photosynthetic light- harvesting complexes gather the energy of light radiation and direct it in the form of electronic excitation energy into the reaction centres. The efficiency of this process is exceptionally high, close to unity, what is capturing the interest of researchers for decades. The development of experimental techniques has led to better understanding of this process down to atomic scale. Nowadays, this insight along with the theoretical basis stemming from quantum mechanics can be used to perform accurate computer simulations which can determine properties of the whole molecular aggregates independently of experiments. This thesis provides an introduction into the field of theoretical photosynthesis research, and it summarises the progress made in past two decades. The detailed theoretical approaches are being put into perspective of the reaction centres of photosynthetic purple bacterium Rhodobacter sphaeroides which is a valuable model organism. Measurement of two-dimensional electronic spectroscopy response of solvents

Two-dimensional electronic spectroscopy is a technique used mainly for the study of energy transfer in organic systems. Nevertheless, it seems to be a good choice for studying plenty of other complexes, for example nanocrystals. However, these complexes require different solvents, not only water which is used for organic systems and has a known behaviour in this analysis. These solvents are mainly organic, such as benzene, toluene, xylene and others. The behaviour of these solvents during the 2DES measurements is unknown, therefore it is possible that the obtained data would be contaminated by signals from the solvent. This thesis provides a detailed description of the behaviour of 11 different solvents during the 2DES analysis. 1
