The Optimalization of Capacity Menu
Achimovič, Peter ; Skočdopolová, Veronika (advisor) ; Dlouhá, Zuzana (referee)
The bachelor work is aimed of the composition of capacity menu for young trainees, who want to increase their actual physical form through healthy diet with all of basic macronutrients and they dispose of limited financial budget, as well. The work is systematically structured of four sections, the first part is concerned with definitions of essential terms of linear programming with their metodology. The second part presents fundamental knowledge of nutrion, characteristic of somatotypes and relevant value of components in food.. The main aim of the work is creation of capacity menu through linear and goal programmnig, which are explained in practical part of third and fourth section. Constructed mathematical model is solved in optimalization software LINGO and MS Excel. The interpretation and evaluation of the work is described in coclusion.
Blending problem and its utilization in practice
Jurda, Daniel ; Dlouhá, Zuzana (advisor) ; Kuncová, Martina (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to find out how much it would cost millions of people to cover the minimum recommended daily allowance of nutrients using the LINGO mixing task. We select eight basic raw materials as food and we will review the price over a 30-year period, this data being drawn from commodity exchange prices. Then, using the EViews program, we estimate the price for another 5 years. Finally, we will find out how much it would be worth resolving the problem of food scarcity globally and what sums would have to be sacrificed in the past so that nobody died in the famine in this time span.
Analysis of the impact of Retail bank’s price-setting policy change
Lehocký, Dominik ; Zouhar, Jan (advisor) ; Dlouhá, Zuzana (referee)
The environment of low interest rates results in a sharp competition in the banking industry. To stay competitive, banks must be able to respond to rival offers practically immediately. For this purpose, so-called price exceptions are being used. Their use, however, results in a large amount of administrative burden. To alleviate this administrative burden, the bankers were given some competencies regarding pricing. There is a concern, however that this change may be accepted as a flat-rate price cut. It is for this reason that it is necessary to analyse on real data how this change in the internal policy of Retail Bank is manifested. The problem, however, is that there are several factors that cannot always be recorded in the process of data collection. This is precisely why this analysis estimates the impact of new competences using multilevel models. These allow for a certain form of variability for specific groups of observations and consider the presence of unattended factors.
The Estimation of Probability of Default Using Logistic Regression
Jiřičko, Pavel ; Dlouhá, Zuzana (advisor) ; Formánek, Tomáš (referee)
The aim of the thesis was to build a probability prediction model for client loan repayment. First, the author selected suitable explanatory variables and explained these in detail in the thesis. The author examined various quantities both for qualitative variables (e.g. failure rates and scores) and quantitative variables (e.g. means and standard deviations) describing individual categories. The predictions were done by the use of logistic regression. The estimated coefficients of individual explanatory variables were examined in terms of their statistical significance. The author also described the impact of individual explanatory variables on the probability of a clients default. The probabilities were calculated for two clients with specific values of explanatory variables. The author managed to build a model that can be used to predict probability of client loan repayment defaults.
Transportation theory in practice
Sojka, Jiří ; Dlouhá, Zuzana (advisor) ; Sokol, Ondřej (referee)
One of the most widely used optimization problems is vehicle routing problem. With minor adjustments of the limiting constraints it is usable on large variety of problems in fields of logistics or delivery of goods. The goal is to help company Víno Hruška s.r.o. to find a route for distribution of advertising materials to their own branches in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. First part is dedicated to theoretical introduction to methods of linear programming, second part is practical and uses described methods with real data. Routes found with heuristic methods and with optimization software are compared.
Municipal budgets in Czech Republic – econometric panel data analysis
Zvariková, Alexandra ; Formánek, Tomáš (advisor) ; Dlouhá, Zuzana (referee)
This paper analyses a panel data of 198 Czech municipalities for the period 2003-2015. The aim is to define determinants of municipalities' tax revenue budgeting errors using static panel data models with fixed and random effect. Czech municipalities have a tendency to underestimate both total and tax revenues. On average, budgeted tax revenues are about 7 % lower than collected revenues during the period under examination. Such action could entail less transparency in budgeting process. Results indicate that structure of tax revenues also plays a role in explaining forecast errors. Further, the analysis shows the impact of electoral cycle and macroeconomic variables on budget deviations.
Econometric analysis of marihuana seizures in selected states of the world
Zharikov, Oleksandr ; Dlouhá, Zuzana (advisor) ; Čížek, Ondřej (referee)
Nowadays the drug question is one of the most debatable problems in our society. Marijuana is the most common type of illegal drugs. The volume of confiscated marijuana is one of the most important indicators, which helps to determine the real situation on the black market of marijuana. This bachelor's thesis concerns with the econometric analysis of the most important factors influencing the volume of marijuana seizures. At the beginning, it presents the methodology later applied to the data set and variables relevant the problem. The next section is an application part where there are introduced econometric models which help to discover and quantify influences of the variables. The last part is conclusion where the results of analysis are evaluated and interpreted.
Analysis of inflation in the Czech Republic
Holakovská, Adéla ; Formánek, Tomáš (advisor) ; Dlouhá, Zuzana (referee)
This work is focused on econometric analysis of inflation in the Czech Republic, there is also reported an analysis of inflation in Austria and continuity of both countries to the dominant German economy. The inflation with its forms and possibilities of measuring is described in the first part of this work. There is also mentioned the influence of Czech national bank on the inflation. Next, there is shown the impact of foreign exchange rates and inflation. Consequently there are described characteristics of time series, which are important from viewpoint of construction of econometric models. Next, there is described theory of econometrics analysis, focused on ordinary least squares method and method of instrumental variables. The empirical part contains econometric analysis of inflation itself, using models described in theoretical part. Moreover, this work includes other models, coming out of economic hypothesis. Firstly, it analyses inflation in Germany as the reference country. Secondly, further analysis performs inflation in the Czech Republic and Austria. Finally, an analysis based on ERPT (exchange rate pass-through) models is given. In conclusion, the results are well summarized and compared.
Modernization of compressor station
Kocourková, Markéta ; Dlouhý, Martin (advisor) ; Dlouhá, Zuzana (referee)
The thesis is concerned with multi-criteria evaluation of alternatives of modernization of compressor station for natural gas. This thesis is divided into practical part and theoretical part. The theoretical part will introduce historical development of the gas industry and the current state of the gas network in our country. The following describes a method for operating a compressor station, its technology units and existing operational processes. The theoretical part is a chapter that describes methods of multi-criteria evaluation of alternatives and a way of specifying the methods suitable for constructing weights of the criteria. The fifth chapter contains an application example, the aim of which is to choose the suitable way of modernization of the compressor station that would meet the requirements of planned projects. Creating recommendations for the management of the company fulfilled the goal of this thesis.
The effect of european economic integration on international trade
Tománek, Ondřej ; Dlouhá, Zuzana (advisor) ; Čermáková, Klára (referee)
This bachelor thesis aims to economic integration of Europe. In the first part, it focuses on issues of stages of economic integration. The second part is dedicated to Europen Monetary union, its advantages and disadvantages. The next part is dealing with history and development of EU, CEFTA, EFTA, BAFTA. In final part, we use gravity model of international trade to analyze influence of each mentioned integrated group. Panel dataset consists of 27 776 observations of 23 years (1993-2015). Our results are consistent with other researchers, that are dealing with this issues. But some differences have been found. Preferential trading areas increases international trade, but the EMU coefficient is negative. Later on, we compare calculated potential exports of the czech republic to real exports to neighboring countries.
