Design of Experiment
Lachnit, Zdeněk ; Bednář, Josef (referee) ; Kotek, Luboš (advisor)
The main subject of this master thesis is to evaluate using of Design of Experiment in industrial company in the development of LED modules for cars. In background study Design of Experiment methodology is described. Next part of background study describes the general principles of termography measurements, next chapter includes the information’s about LED technology and temperature degradation. At the beginning of the practical part is a description of the team analysis due to selection of factors, next chapter validates importance of vias. In next chapter methodology of print circuit board preparations and measuring are described. A next chapter describes the implementation of design of experiment at voltages 8 V, 13,5 V, 16,5 V. Designs of Experiments were made for four or five factors. The reason for this decision was the manual adjustment of printed circuit boards. At the end of each Design of Experiment is the recommendation of factors and interactions settings with regard on response, which is the minimal temperature. At the end of master’s thesis is the final evaluation.
Sports data analysis
Horák, Patrik ; Bednář, Josef (referee) ; Hrabec, Pavel (advisor)
The main preoccupation of this thesis is analysis of ice hockey statistics. The first section describes widely used elementary and advanced ice hockey statistics. The second part contains selected comparable studies working with similar hypotheses. The third section introduces necessary mathematical tools, such as, Two-sample t-test, correlation, Two-way analysis of variance with no interaction and their nonparametric equivalents. In the last section described statistical hypotheses tests are applied to ice hockey dataset. Results interpretation is also included.
Investment Optimization
Bujnovský, Daniel ; Bednář, Josef (referee) ; Popela, Pavel (advisor)
This work is focused on description of two models of mathematical programming - the network model and the Markowitz portfolio model, their connection and application in transportation problems. The goal of the practical section is to approach the description of these problems to the real situations and look for their efficient solutions at the same time. All of that is accompanied by examples on real data from capital market or own model data. The theoretical considerations and thoughts are implemented in programming language Matlab. All results are explained in context to both models. The thesis also includes the introduction to economical and statistical theory which is necessary to understand the problem.
Statistical Analysis of Real Process Scrap
Širjovová, Zuzana ; Karpíšek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Bednář, Josef (advisor)
Quality, as well as stability of processes check is nowadays gaining on its significance. The main driving force of its increasing importance is the rapid expansion of series production. Large-scale manufacturing processes are concerned, in terms of the number of operators, direct and indirect influence on rejects, but also on process stability. There are several quality characteristics, defined by utility properties, that can be easily measurable (linear dimensions, solidity, elongation, humidity, concentration) or directly immeasurable, mostly subjective (fragrance, taste, color, comfort while using, appearance). Statistical Process Control-SPC features the preventive tool of quality control, because based on the early detection of significant divergences of the process from the predetermined level, it is possible to execute interventions in the process with the aim of maintaining the acceptable and stable level and improving the process. This manufacturing process check will be the topic of my thesis. At first, Shewhart's control charts analysis will be done to determine strong process instability. Consequently, analysis will be carried out in test chi-square, used to determine the influence of each factor on the process of stability (operators, type of shift, type of product, type of defect on the product). All the practical part will be processed in statistical software MINITAB15. The thesis will be complemented by the findings from the examination of the features of interval estimates of parameter p for binomial distribution - numeric stability in the various statistical software (specifically Minitab 15, Statistica, Matlab 7.8.0). Master's thesis was supported by project from MSMT of the Czech Republic no. 1M06047 Center for Quality and Reliability of Production.
Optimization Models in Energy Production
Němcová, Lucie ; Bednář, Josef (referee) ; Popela, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis focuses on optimization of a boiler's size of a waste incineration plant from an economic point of view. The problem was approximated by discretization because random parameters with normal distribution occured in the incineration plant model. To evaluate the quality of such approximation there were created confidence intervals using random sample information, independent random number streams method and common random number streams method. Used methods were compared and the smallest number of scenarios that aproximates the problem "well enough" was proposed in the last part of this thesis.
Least-squares fitting of multivariate data
Hrabec, Pavel ; Bednář, Josef (referee) ; Tomášek, Petr (advisor)
Thesis sumarizes basic theory required for inference of aproximation using the least squares method and aplicates this method on data obtained from engineering practice. Within thesis were created programs, in MATLAB enviroment, to solve this problem. MATLAB already contains several algorithms, wich are useful for solving this problem. Thesis includes comparsion of properties and test of those algorithms.
Effectiveness of DOE
Optimization of EDM process control parameters
Prokeš, Tomáš ; Beneš, Libor (referee) ; Bednář, Josef (referee) ; Matoušek, Radomil (advisor)
The dissertation thesis is focused on the optimization of control parameters of an EDM machine; the subject of optimization is cutting speed and surface topography. The first part of the thesis contains a research study on the technology of electrical discharge machining with the attention paid to the optimization methods use for control parameters of this process. The second part of the thesis is focused on real application of knowledge gained from studied sources. Here, a design of experiment aim at optimizing the parameters of the EDM machine is designed and carried on to maximize the cutting speed with the highest possible surface quallity. The result of the work is to build adequate regression models and find the optimal setting of machine control parameters.
Statistical analysis of ROC curves
Kutálek, David ; Bednář, Josef (referee) ; Michálek, Jaroslav (advisor)
The ROC (Receiver Operating Characteristic) curve is a projection of two different cumulative distribution functions F0 and F1. On axis are values 1-F0(c) and 1-F1(c). The c-parameter is a real number. This curve is useful to check quality of discriminant rule which classify an object to one of two classes. The criterion is a size of an area under the curve. To solve real problems we use point and interval estimation of ROC curves and statistical hypothesis tests about ROC curves.
Introduction to Six Sigma Method and its Application for Process Improvements
Joska, Jakub ; Žák, Libor (referee) ; Bednář, Josef (advisor)
First part of the thesis deals with the description of Six sigma method and its most commonly used methodology DMAIC. The second part is a brief introduction of specific practical problem - electroforming. The third part describes the statistical tools used to solve the given task, especially the Pearson's chi-squared test of independence. The last part of the thesis contains a summary of data, calculation itself and data analysis results.
