The Working Title: Things I Have Not Done

My bachelor thesis deals with the studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts, and with unrealized projects. These are works that remained as ideas in my mind, and that I started but have not yet been fully realized. The material for this work is in the form of texts, these lyrics are slightly poetic memories of my thoughts, the reconstruction of memories, influenced by the current state of my mind. I created a portfolio of my unrealized projects visually looking like the real portfolio, that was required to be produced during the last four years of my studies. The work that I am presenting is a confrontation of those two portfolios like instalation.

In the thesis LIFE ACCORDING TO THEM I deal with beauty blogs on YouTube. I use my own pieces of work, especially video recordings of performances for the camera or for the audience, which were created during the entire master’s degree study. Their further processing together with ideas and experiences leads to an audio-visual collage, that will accompany the final performative lecture. The aforementioned collage may also exist as a separate video-essay expressing my experiences with the topic of blogging.

Inquiry-based science education - practical application and implementation in school practice.

This bachelor thesis deals with the review on the subject of implementation of Inquiry Based Education (IBE) at primary and secondary schools in the Czech Republic and in other countries. IBE is introduced as a direction that might solve the crisis of science education and alleviate the decline in interest in technical and natural science disciplines. The main goal of the thesis is to gather the greatest possible deal of information about the topic of IBE. It is also aimed to summarize knowledge about implementation of IBE at Czech schools, especially teachers´ experience. Another aim is to create a sample task of IBSE on the voluntary subject of either natural science or biology that may be used for teaching. Another integral part of the thesis is the chapter on the pilot project called IBSE School that took place in the Faculty of Education of the University of South Bohemia. In this project, teachers were informed about IBSE. In this part, the results of implementing of IBSE at schools are summarized and they are compared to the previous results.

Czech-Mexican and Mexican-Czech cultural standards in the study environment

The main objective of the thesis is to define a Czech-Mexican and Mexican-Czech cultural standards focused on students. The findings are compared with the theory of cultural standards by Ivan Nový. Identification of cultural standards is studied on the basis of the cultural standards method of Alexander Thomas based on an analysis of recurring conflict situations. The data collection was carried out through qualitative interviews with Czech having experience studying in Mexico and Mexican who studied in the Czech Republic. The research aims to analyse the differences in the approach to the time, the perception of authorities and difference in the meaning of education of Mexicans and Czechs. In the end, research findings provide recommendations for Czechs planning to study in Mexico as well as for Mexicans who wish to study in the Czech Republic.

The concept of Mangaloo´s juicebar franchise

This thesis is concerned with franchising. First part describes theoretically basic terms of franchising, requirements of franchise contract, pro and cons of franchising. Second part is focused on particular franchise chain Mangaloo. The aim of thesis is creation of comprehensive perspective on this franchise concept and appraisal if this concept is advantageous for franchisee and suggest possible changes and improvements. The appraisal is elaborated from own experience, SWOT analysis and competitive analysis.
