Development and new trends in the care for people with mental illness Abstract: The aim of my bachelor's thesis is to capture developments and new trends in the care for people with mental illnesses. In the introduction, I briefly specify the concept of mental illness and set the division of mental illnesses. Several selected diagnoses of mental illnesses, which are described here are based on professional literature, practical experience and available health statistics. The following is a description of the development of care for people with mental illnesses. From Ancient Times to the Middle Ages, society explained the existence of mental illnesses in humans as the action of supernatural forces. The care for people with mental illnesses was merely an exception during these historical periods. The situation of people with mental illnesses improved during the period of Enlightenment. With the development of medical science, society came to the conclusion that mental illnesses were caused by brain diseases. Psychiatry became a field of science with the first successful therapy treatments. Treatment began to be concentrated in mental institutions, later in psychiatric hospitals. Obstacles in Compulsory Education of Children from Socially Disadvantaged Families Viewed by Primary Carers

The bachelor thesis deals with the phenomenon of social disadvantage in connection with primary education. The aim of the thesis is to identify the obstacles in compulsory education of children from socially disadvantaged families viewed by primary carers. The first section describes, in general, the term social disadvantage, its impact on children's education, and the obstacles which can occur for those children. It also describes the possible support the school can give them in case of educational failure. The empirical part of the thesis is based on qualitative research whose responders were the primary carers of the children from socially disadvantaged families. Employment opportunities for people with disabilities in the rural region

This thesis oversees the possibility of employment for people with disabilities in the rural region. It introduces specific employment opportunities for people with disabilities in the Chrudim region. It takes into account the perspective of potential employers in the region. While also identifying specific barriers and fears of employers, when they are determining whether or not to employ people with disabilities. The work is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part is devoted to: describing people with disabilities, the importance of work in human life, the issue of unemployment, the characteristics of the Chrudim region, and employment opportunities for people with disabilities. In the practical part quantitative research strategies are used and in this particular case, it involved the use of questionnaires. Questionnaires were sent to random employers in the area in the hopes of finding clear and unbiased results. Adaptation in the first phase of living together as a couple - a foundation of a functional family

This present thesis deals with the subject of one of the key periods of a cohabiting relationship or marriage which is essen- tial for the further development of the relationship and forming a family which is one of the major areas of social work. In the thesis, I discuss the relationship between a healthy re- lationship of a couple and functional family, I describe roman- tic relationship, its forms and the factors which influence the choice of a partner including the most common mistakes in this process according to the authorities in the field. Moreover, I describe the preparations for living together. Finally, I analyze the adaptation phase of the relationship, its typical aspects and common problems which one can en- counter, as well as strategies of successfully dealing with them. The aim of this theses is to map the topic of the adaptation phase in a relationship as described in the relevant literature as well as sum up the findings.
Employment opportunity for disabled people in south region of the Czech Republic

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of supported employment of people with disabilities in the South Bohemian region. Its aim is to describe how social workers, employers' representatives and service users view the current state of supported employment of people with disabilities in the South Bohemian Region. The work also identifies the course of supported employment, its strengths and benefits, weaknesses, threats and opportunities for further development. The research was conducted on the basis of 16 structured interviews. The obtained data are divided into 5 categories - an overview of the current state of supported employment, its course, strengths and benefits, weaknesses, threats, and opportunities for further development. Research shows that social workers, employers' representatives and users perceive the supported employment service as very beneficial and useful in many respects. The strengths of individual respondents predominate, while the weaknesses and threats tend to be in the background. Respondents see opportunities for further development mainly as an extension of the wage contribution period of employers employing persons with disabilities within the supported employment service.
Support for informal caregivers taking care of their loved ones in home palliative care

The main topic of this diploma thesis is support of informal caregivers taking care for dying loved ones or loved ones with life-threatening illness in the home environment. The theoretical partis focused on informal carers, the quality of life of informal carers, the quality of life of dying people and quality of life of people with life-threatening diseases, death and the stages of coping with death. It also deals with hospice and palliative care, their forms, methods and uses. The practical part is focused on the analysis and evaluation of questionnaires filled out by informal carers. The aim of my diploma thesis is to point out the need to help informally caring for dying loved ones or loved ones with life-threatening illnesses. Within the practical part of this thesis, it was intended to map helpful and, conversely, deficit types and ways of support. These outputs can then be the basis for improving the quality of support and services for informal carers caring for a loved one in the home environment. Social work in the Central Military Hospital in Prague

(in English): The aim of the diploma thesis is to map the form, development and direction of social work in the Central Military Hospital in Prague. In the theoretical part, the diploma thesis deals with the development of social work in the Central Military Hospital, as well as the role of the health and social worker, thein competencies and thein preconditions for the performance of social work in the hospital. The diploma thesis captures the methods of social work used in the Central Military Hospital in Prague and the scope of work of a health and social worker. The practical part of the work finds out how the participating social workers perceive, experience and evaluace the possibilities and processes of social work in ÚVN. This part of the diploma thesis is a qualitative research, carried out by semi-structured interview with persons who are directly involved in the performance of social work, supplemented by case studies.
Process and rate of disability among seniors

The most characteristic feature of the demographic development in the Czech Republic and other developed countries is population ageing. The aim of the thesis "The process and rate of disability among seniors" was to determine the extent to which disability interferes with the lives of the seniors and to map the development, progress and conditions of the pension system. After an introductory overview of basic concepts, a part of the thesis deals with a theoretical analysis of the European framework of social security of seniors and another part is concerned with the reform of disability pensions in the Czech Republic. The focus is also on the forms of care for disabled pensioners. The last chapter of a theoretical part deals with deinstitutionalization. The empirical part analyzes the areas related to the development of population structure, administrative agenda, overview of pensions according to the WHO diagnosis groups, total overview of disability pensions, the development of the structure of pensions, financing of pension administration, and the average age of retired people. The economic side is also included, where pensions are compared with average salary and also the economic activity of seniors, housing, health and social services. The diploma thesis deals with teaching geometry at the basic school - what is the position of geometry in comparison with mathematics and other school subjects at present day? The thesis describes didactic teaching principles of geometry, its methods and work forms. It deals with the teacher's attitude to its teaching. Research is divided into two parts. In the first part it deals with detecting relations and teacher's attitudes to geometry. It explores possible influence to positive or negative attitude to it, and how these impulses influence theirs todays attitude to geometry as a school subject. The second part of the project detects positive or negative influence of teacher's attitude to geometry on pupil's results from this subject. It deals with particular data from worksheets which were done by pupils from the 5th class and compares them with answers of theirs teachers in the questionaire about popularity of teaching of geometry. The assumption is that the results of pupils who are led by the teacher with positive attitude to geometry will be better than the results of pupils who are taught by the teacher with negative attitude to the geometry.
