Civil aviation in the EU and the CR from the perspective of Union law
Čech, Martin ; Tomášek, Michal (advisor) ; Ondřej, Jan (referee)
143 Abstract The present diploma thesis is dedicated to European civil aviation and in particular to the regulation of provision of air navigation services and air traffic management. The purpose of the thesis is to analyse the evolution of the legislative reform of air navigation services and air traffic management in Europe with a focus on the influence of European Union law through the initiative "Single European Sky". Next, the thesis aims to study the main elements of the modernisation efforts and to point at the transformation of the situation and relationships between the relevant stakeholders as results from the new form of the regulatory and institutional framework. First chapter presents the principle of state sovereignty over the airspace which constitutes the fundamental principle of aviation law. Second chapter treats air navigation services and the legal regulation of their provision according to the Convention on International Civil Aviation. The following chapter introduces the summary of main organisations involved in civil aviation focussing on ICAO, EUROCONTROL, European Union, its status, the systematics of EU law and on the European Aviation Safety Agency. The fourth chapter discusses the EU common transport policy in the field of air transport, the progressive air transport...
Algebraic proofs of Dirichlet's theorem on arithmetic progressions
Čech, Martin ; Kala, Vítězslav (advisor) ; Příhoda, Pavel (referee)
Dirichlet's theorem on arithmetic progressions says that there are infinitely many primes in any arithmetic progression an = kn + with coprime k, . The original proof of this theorem was analytic using a lot of non-elementary methods. The goal of this thesis is to give sufficient and necessary conditions on k and under which a more elementary algebraic proof of the theorem can exist, and give the proof in these cases. 1
Impact of catastrophic flood on the species and size composition of the diet of kingfisher (Alcedo atthis)
Hadravová, Alena ; Čech, Martin (advisor) ; Porkert, Jiří (referee)
A B S T R A C T This study examines the impact of catastrophic flood on the species com- position and size of fish prey in the diet of kingfisher (Alcedo atthis) nest- ing in Prague's Botič stream in 2013. Floods in June 2013 affected mainly Bohemia and partly Moravia. The streams across the Vltava river basin, in part of the Elbe river basin and marginally in the Thaya river got swollen. The effect of the flood on the Botič stream was further ampli- fied by draining of water from the dam Hostivař. Hundred and forty year water caused considerable damage to property and it is likely that it also changed the character and size composition of biota, especially fish. This change should be reflected naturally in the diet of kingfisher, which nests and hunts here. The species composition and size of fish prey in the diet of kingfisher before and after the catastrophic flood was investigated from the mass of regurgitated pellets collected from nest tunnels and chambres. In the nesting sediment, 689 head diagnostic bones (pharyngeal bones - ossa pharyngea and preopercual bones - praeoperculare) were found before the flood on Botič stream in June 2013. These bones belonged to 10 fish species and 3 families (Cyprinidae, Percidae and Balitoridae). The average length of fish was 6,5 cm, average weight 2,6 g, and the index of...
Qualitative analyses of the diet in great cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo): Is there a match between size and species distribution of fish in the diet and in environment?
Valigurová, Barbora ; Čech, Martin (advisor) ; Musil, Petr (referee)
Great cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo) diet has long been debated in many studies. There are several method of dietary assessment and each method possibly yield different depictions of the diet. Simultaneously, many studies evaluate cormorant impact upon fishery yields without taking account of some important ecological factors essential for such evaluation. One of crucial factors is a fish-community composition of particular waterbodies. But its evaluation is methodically exacting and many biases can emerge, depending on particular method. Its also time-and-money-consuming to evaluate fish-community composition and thus authors, who take it into consideration, often use unverifiable local organizations data. Such data should not be in base of discussions about cormorant impact upon natural fish populations. Since ecological background is too complex, general principles of cormorants impact is ambiguous so far. It is important to do more studies with more accurate fish-community composition data. Diet of Eurasian otter (Lutra lutra) in relation to the stocking of brown trout (Salmo trutta m. fario) and grayling (Thymallus thymallus)
Lyach, Roman ; Čech, Martin (advisor) ; Poledník, Lukáš (referee)
This study aimed to evaluate otter predation on stocked trout and grayling. The diet composition of piscivorous Eurasian otters (Lutra lutra) was studied on the stream Chotýšanka in central Bohemia using spraint (otter faeces) analysis during one winter period (90 days). Stocking took place mostly in the second half of 2005. Around 5000 hatchery-reared brown trouts (Salmo trutta m. fario) of size about 10 cm, 600 graylings (Thymallus thymallus) of the same size and 480 rainbow trouts (Oncorhynchus mykiss) of size about 30 cm were stocked into the stream. Spraints were collected in December 2005 and January 2006. We found and identified 1531 fish in the spraints. The primary food source of otters was fish (almost 85 % of biomass). The main fish prey was small - sized, below 20 g in weight and 13 cm in length. The bulk of otter's diet consisted of less - valued species, especially the gudgeon (Gobio gobio). Other frequently consumed fish species were the European chub (Squalius cephalus), the common carp (Cyprinus carpio), the European perch (Perca fluviatilis), the brown trout and the rainbow trout. Consumption of stocked brown trout was 1,80 %, while cosumption of stocked rainbow trout was 10,90 % of biomass. Otters in this area consumed about 723 - 1446 brown trouts and 72 - 144 rainbow trouts...
Development in damage caused by conflict specially protected wild animal species in the Czech Republic
Konečná, Ludmila ; Plesník, Jan (advisor) ; Čech, Martin (referee)
The submitted M.Sc. thesis describes development in populations of the bird and mammalian species, having been involved in human - wildlife conflicts, particularly of the specially protected species, in the Czech Republic as well as in compensation payments for damages caused on private properties by the selected specially protected wild animal species. At the same time, it compares various tools, applied to solve human - willdife conflicts in the different parts of the world. The study presents information provided by governmental authorities or gained from grey literature, expert databases and scientific papers. Trends both in the development in conflict species populations and in compensation payments were assessed and the relationship between both variables was found. In total, payments for damages caused by conflict wild animal species has been increasing in the Czech Republic since 2000, but trends in the conflict species populations differ from each other, influenced particularly by their bionomics. The analysis performed shows, that the act on the topic is effective only for some of the above wild animal species. For large carnivores, namely the Grey Wolf (Canis lupus), Eurasian Lynx (Lynx lynx) and Brown Bear (Ursus arctos), the above tool does not provide suitable solutions for their...
Obesity and overweight - possibilities of influencing by exercise in adult men
Čech, Martin ; Bunc, Václav (advisor) ; Strejcová, Barbora (referee)
Title: Obesity and overweight - possibilities of influencing by exercise in adult men Objective: Obesity and overweight are currently worldwide widespread disease, which have serious health, socioeconomic and psychological consequences. The main aim of this diploma thesis is to design, implement and verify appropriate exercise programs, whose purpose is the positive effect on individual components of body composition, aerobic capacity and overall quality of life of men, including their health. Methods: The main diagnostic methods used in the case study were: bioimpedance analysis, spiroergometry, WHOQOL questionnaire and a complete health assessment. Discussion and results: The results imply that unless in set case the established exercise program was followed, the significant positive changes in the indicators were observed. It has been shown that increase in volume of physical activity led to significant improvements in overall quality of life of men. As a main problem was failure to comply with established exercise program resulting primarily from workload of men. Key words: Obesity, overweight, disease, physical activity, physical activity program.
Influence of age and rearing conditions of a fish on the chance to survive in the wild
Lyach, Roman ; Frouzová, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Čech, Martin (referee)
The task of this thesis is to summarize all the most important biotic and abiotic factors that can influence chances of reared fish to survive in the wild. It contains some of the most frequently reared and popular fishes, such as Sander lucioperca (pike perch), Samo trutta (trout), Micropterus salmoides (largemouth bass), Esox lucius (northern pike), Esox masquinongy (muskellunge) and the hybrid of northern pike and muskellunge, the tiger muskellunge. Mainly the factors such as success, survival, rate of growth and mortality have been studied. Survival increases with the size of the fish because of the fact that larger fish can easily avoid predation. Pellet-reared fish show higher mortality than minnow-reared fish because of the loss due to predation and also slightly worse ability to catch living prey and obtain food, even though their diet contains similar species. Temperature can also affect the mortality of the stocked fish, mainly when the temperature difference between the rearing pond or hatchery and the new environment exceeds 10 řC, which brings loss of majority of the stocked fish. It has been revealed that genetics is very important during the process of stocking, while fish from the local population show better abilities to adapt to the environment than those from other geographic...
Top-k querying over a relational databases: analysis and problems
Čech, Martin ; Pokorný, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Eckhardt, Alan (referee)
Due to increasing capacity of storage devices and speed of computer networks during last years, it is still more required to sort and search data effectively. Query result containing thousands of rows is usually useless and unreadable. In that situation, users may prefer to define constraints and sorting priorities in the query, and see only several top rows from the result. This thesis deals with top-k queries problems, extension of relational algebra by new operators and their implementation in database system. It focuses on optimization of operations join and sort. The thesis includes implementation and comparison of some algorithms in standalone .NET library NRank.
