Reception of Japanese art in Czech painting and graphic

This thesis presents various manifestation od japanese art impression including the influence of french cultural metropolis. This phenomenon is presented throught some concrete painting and graphic pieces. On the following pages there are exemined works of Czech art individualities, who had worked from seventies of nineteenth century when the influence of Japanese art was coming in Czech culture till thirtieth of twenties century before the beginning of World War Two. This thesis is split to sixteen chapters including first publications about Japanese art in Czech, foundation of Naprstek library (1858) and muzeum (1863) and its collection of Japanese art and its contributors, Czech exhibition of Japanese art, personality of Sigismund Bouška and his relation to graphic artist Josef Váchal, correnspondence of two culture personalities of nineteenth century Zdenka Braunerová (1858-1934) and Julius Zeyer (1841-1901), shops with Asian articles, calligraphy of Luděk Marold, posters works, book illustrations, ex libris, personality of Emil Orlik, Antonín Hudeček, Rudolf Kremlička, the influence of Japanese personalities of Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849) and Kitagawa Utamaro (1753-1806), coloured expressionisme of Václav Špála (1885-1946) and chosen motifs from Japanese art in Czech art. The current state of affairs and future of museum's libraries in Prague

(in English): The thesis describes the current situation and possible development of museum libraries in Prague. Its aim is to assess the current state of museum libraries in Prague, using a questionnaire survey accomplished in early 2011. In the descriptive part of the thesis is first briefly mentioned the history and basic legislation of museum libraries in Prague. Then follows a detailed description of the current state according to the specifics (founders, focus and scope of the collections, acquisition and processing of library collections, services and access to the collections, digitization, library presentation on the Internet, the current methods of financing options for museum libraries, library position within the museum etc.), activities and cooperation of the museum libraries in Prague and the illustrated examples of four museum libraries in Prague (National Museum Library, Library of the Jewish Museum in Prague, Library of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague and Library of National Technical Museum). An Extension of Support for Archives in GVFS

The bachelor thesis deals with an extension of archive daemon in GVFS system. The extension was designed, implemented, and tested based on an analysis of current state of the daemon, LibArchive library options, and similar projects. The main benefit of the extension is an easy manipulation with files in an archive via GIO API, which is used by many applications running in GNU/Linux operating system. Files and folders included in an archive can be read, renamed, moved, copied or deleted, it can also create empty directories. Daemon also allows creating new archives of a desired format.

The development and current state of library stock digitalization in the Czech Republic and its key issues

Tématem této diplomové práce je problematika digitalizace knihovních fondů v České Republice a související klíčové otázky. V první části se práce zabývá procesem a nástroji digitalizace. Seznamuje s obrazem a jeho zpracováním, obrazovými formáty, metadaty, popisuje proces mikrofilmování dokumentů a zabývá se způsoby ochrany digitálních objektů. Další část práce stručně popisuje možnosti dotací pro projekty digitalizace v ČR a seznamuje se systémy Manuscriptorium a Kramerius, nejvýznamnějšími českými programy digitalizace. Následuje zásadní část práce, ve které jsou podrobně rozebrány vybrané projekty digitalizace. Další kapitola je věnována problematice duplicit digitalizovaných dokumentů a především nástrojům registrace digitalizovaných dokumentů, které umožňují předcházení vzniku těchto duplicit. Následuje popis projektu Evropské digitální knihovny a kroků, které jejímu vzniku předcházely. Závěr práce tvoří analýza a celkové zhodnocení popisovaných projektů digitalizace knihovních fondů.

Aim: To describe the history of the pharmacy and its activities from the start until today. Methods: Elaborating historical documents from the National Archive in Prague, the Czech Pharmaceutical Museum in Kuks, the Prague City Museum, the City Library of Prague, interviews with contemporaries and other thesis. Results: The history of the pharmaceutical work in the hospital Na Františku is connected especially with the Hospitaller Order of St. John of God, who came to Prague after the battle of the White Mountain in December 1620. The pharmacy was probably grounded in 1624. Since that time, the pharmacy had been working without a break until 1941 when it was converted into a German military hospital. It was in 1945 when the pharmacy was renewed again. In the beginning of 1950 it was nationalized and became a part of a state company Medika. ProArc - Open Source Solutions for Digital Documents Production and Archiving

ProArc – the production and archiving system is freely available tool for producing and editing descriptive, technical and administrative metadata to digitized and born digital documents. The system allows you to create import data for the Kramerius system. One of the outputs are PSP packages created according to NDK standards of the National Library. ProArc system has been developed by the Library of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in collaboration with INCAD, which provides programming and analytical work. Since 2013, when the system was fully deployed in the Digitalization Centre of the Academy of Sciences Library, more than 400,000 pages of different types of documents have been processed . Currently, the system is also being implemented in other institutions. The archive section is being developed that will allow connection to the Archivematica system. ProArc will be presented from the perspective of the processor. ProArc system is one of the outputs of the Czech Digital Library project. The aim of the project is to create a single interface of digital libraries in the Czech Republic for end users and to provide data for international projects. The project is funded by the NAKI programme of the Ministry of Culture.

Digital libraries of historical documents on the World Wide Web

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou specializovaných digitálních knihoven v prostředí WWW zpřístupňujících historické dokumenty. Práce je zahájena úvahou o pojmu "historický dokument", neboť tento typ dokumentu jako "jednotka obsahu" daného systému je rozhodujícím faktorem ve výběru digitálních knihoven z jejich celkové množiny pro jejich analýzu v této studii. Tématem další části je zhodnocení významu a možností těchto digitálních knihoven ve zpřístupňování historických dokumentů za pomoci jejich srovnání s tradičními knihovnami zprostředkovávajícími historické dokumenty v analogové formě. Dále jsou v práci nastíněny některé z nejdůležitějších jevů a procesů, které se k problematice těchto digitálních knihoven váží, jako je např. digitalizace a obrazové formáty, metadata, problém ochrany digitálních informací apod. Následuje představení některých projektů mezinárodních organizací zabývajících se digitálním zpřístupněním dokumentů jako kulturního dědictví. Závěr práce tvoří analýza čtyř konkrétních digitálních knihoven historických dokumentů, zaměřující se na historii projektů, na jejichž základě byly systémy vytvořeny, na popis specifik systémů, obsahovou charakteristiku, použité formáty a technologie, způsoby vyhledávání a prohlížení informačních zdrojů atd.

The Czech Digital Library - aggregation and dissemination of digital content from the Czech libraries

The goal of the Czech Digital Library is to aggregate content of digital libraries in the Czech Republic. It serves both as a common interface for end users and as a primary national data provider for other national and international projects, especially for Europeana and for the Central portal of the Czech libraries - KNIHOVNY.CZ. Tools to support complex digitization processes which include production, workflow monitoring, dissemination and archiving are developed as an open source in the frame of the project. The software solution for digital library - Kramerius system - is used in more than 30 libraries in the Czech Republic and provides access to tens of millions digital objects. ProArc - system compatible with national and international standards is used in several libraries for digital document production. With regard to the archival part of the solution, standards for long term archiving, such as the OAIS model, are implemented in cooperation with Archivematica system.

Digital information resources in psychology

Cílem rigorózní práce je analyzovat a vyhodnotit digitální informační zdroje v oboru psychologie komerčně nebo volně dostupné v prostředí World Wide Web. Úvodní část práce obsahuje charakteristiku oboru a jeho informační potřeby. Jsou zmíněny instituce, kde vědecká informace vzniká a kde je využívána. V druhé části je pojednáno o problematice elektronického publikování a o terminologických otázkách. Třetí stěžejní část je věnována prezentaci výsledků analýzy a hodnocení vybraných reprezentantů jednotlivých typů digitálních informačních zdrojů z oboru psychologie, kterými zde jsou online časopisy, elektronické archivy a digitální knihovny, bibliografické a plnotextové databáze, elektronické slovníky, elektronické knihy, kolaborativní systémy typu wiki, blogy a osobní stránky, katalogy a rozcestníky. V dílčích částech jsou zdroje charakterizovány a zhodnoceny z hlediska způsobu zpřístupňování obsahu uživatelům. V závěrech je diskutováno o problematice důvěryhodnosti digitálních zdrojů, jsou shrnuty a vyhodnoceny analýzou získané poznatky a formulována doporučení pro využívání zdrojů v ČR
