Optimizing Flow and Segregaton Properties of Lactose/Microcrystalline Cellulose Mixture for Tablet Compression.
Zámostný, P. ; Kreibichová, B. ; Hofmanová, D. ; Kulaviak, Lukáš ; Zelenková, K. ; Růžička, Marek
The present study deals with optimizing the flow and segregation properties of levocetirizine hydrochloride formulation, where the delay between homogenization and tablet compression was found to affect the tablet content uniformity. In addition to API, the base formulation comprised spray dried lactose monohydrate, milled lactose monohydrate 200 mesh, Avicel PH 101 microcrystalline cellulose, and minor excipients. Several alternative mixtures were prepared using the same total composition, but different grades of lactose and microcrystalline cellulose. These mixtures were then tested for the segregation behavior in an in-house segregation device and the flow properties using the Freeman FT4 powder rheometer. The segregation tests showed the grade of lactose is essential for mixture in-flow segregation. While SD lactose mixtures increased the API content in a direction countercurrent to flow, the milled lactose mixtures segregated API concurrently. Mixtures using both lactose grades showed combined effect, resulting in the least segregation due to the two segregation processes competing with each other. However, the segregation was extremely sensitive to ageing of the mixture. It was also found that each type of lactose causes a different flow regime of the mixture in process vessels. In order to improve the content uniformity of the tablets, it was found the volumetric flow regime of transport to tablet press is required as well as the aggregate formation should be prevented.\n

The Segregation in Ferrous Alloys when Casting Heavy Castings
Pernica, Vítězslav ; Čech, Jan (referee) ; Vodárek, Vlastimil (referee) ; Havlíček,, František (referee) ; Šenberger, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis is dedicated to the field of manufacture of heavy steel castings with resulting properties which are influenced by long solidification time. During the long solidification time a segregation process of additives in the steel occurs which results in numerous metallurgical defects. The work was intended to observe the macrosegregation effects in the wall of a heavy experimental steel casting respectively a part of a real superheavy casting intended for cement furnaces (weight 210 t). The steel casting for the research was manufactured in the joint-stock company of VHM where such heavy castings are commonly produced for the market. The supplied piece of the steel casting was cut into the smaller pieces for the better examination. The examination resulted in information about the casting macrostructure and chemical heterogeneity of chosen elements in the casting wall. The heterogeneity of the chosen elements (C, Mn, Si, Cr, S, P) is clearly shown in the worked out visual concentration maps. Based on the experimental data the measured results of segregations were confronted with the results of segregation modelling with the use of the commercial simulation software ProCAST. It resulted in the conclusion that the prediction of segregations is not in accordance with the reality. Furthermore, the results from the experimental casting are shortly compared with previously manufactured castings of the same type and the results summarizing the found range of macrosegregations of the tested sample are interpreted in the work conclusion.

Estimating the impact of the 2012 liquor prohibition on crime
Krejsa, Jiří ; Dušek, Libor (advisor) ; van Koten, Silvester (referee)
This thesis focuses on capturing causal link between alcohol consumption and one of its externalities, crime. The quasi-natural experiment of the Czech temporary ban on hard liquor following an outbreak of methanol poisonings in September 2012 provides a valuable setting for evaluation of the alcohol-crime relationship. Over the course of the prohibition, violent crime rates fell by approximately 10 %, just like the aggregate of aggravated assault, criminal threatening, vandalism and property damage. In addition, the biggest share of reduction in crime falls on weekend criminality. The number of offenders under the influence of alcohol dropped by approximately 18 % for traffic-related offences and by 28 % in non-traffic offenses. The possibility of the reduction in crime being caused by lower detection capabilities of the law enforcement was examined. The reduction in reported cases of e.g. driving under the influence might be to a large extend explained by lower detection, but it could have reduced only rates of victimless crimes. Finally, the property crime rate was not significantly affected by the intervention, except for burglaries into bars and restaurants.

Monitoring and comparison of teaching athletics at elementary schools in the Czech Budejovice
SAJTL, Ondřej
The content of this thesis is monitoring and comparation of athletics education in basic schools in České Budějovice. Teoretical part includes the knowledge of health, fyzical activity, the importance of PE and athletics. We had made the questionare and according to this we found out the atributes of PE education in all schools. After that we made the spectrum which allowed us to compare all schools. The level of knowledge on the issue of nutrition of students in the 2nd grade of elementary school in relation to their daily diet.
KOPUNCOVÁ, Hana
This bachelor thesis: The level of knowledge pertaining to the issue of the nutrition of second grade elementary students in relation to their everyday diet is theoretically defined in the introductory section, defining nutrition related terms. Individual chapters then go on to define the basic aspects and the relevance of good nutrition for the health of young children and young adults. Daily recommended amount, nutrition plans, alternative eating regimes and various nutritional mistakes are all discussed, particularly in the context of abnormal weight gain and other illnesses. The issue of educating young people about correct nutrition is also tackled. The practical component of the thesis describes the results of quantitative research carried out via questionnaire form. The aim of the questionnaire was to find out what relationship young children have towards their nutrition and test their knowledge on the subject. The research sample was aimed at children of 9th grade of elementary school, aged 14-16 in the Znojmo area.

Blašková, Martina ; Hrdlička, Pavel (advisor) ; Markéta, Markéta (referee)
The thesis Economic benefits of geocaching for specific community in the theoretical part describes Třebenice. This part also describes the characteristics of the community and its position, publications dealing with macroeconomics, there is explained the methodology determine the economic benefit and, ultimately, a description of geocaching. Based on the creation of new case and a questionnaire which was published for 8 months, it is detected economic benefits for the Třebenice from the people who came to the village primary for geocaching. On a selected sample of 10 people with a second questionnaire, it is also detected the economic benefits from people in the village, who did not come primarily for geocaching. On the bases of these results are being evaluated and found economic benefits for the Třebenice through the special forms of tourism with assistance geocaching.

Competitiveness of small and medium enterprises in selected sector
Valešová, Veronika ; Pletichová, Dobroslava (advisor) ; Zdena, Zdena (referee)
This thesis evaluates the current status of the small and medium-sized enterprises in the brewing industry in terms of competitiveness and their market position. It reviews the effectiveness and possibilities for further development of two companies in the Pilsen region which belong to the category of small and medium-sized enterprises - the restaurant breweries: Lukrecius a.s. and Akciový pivovar Letiny a.s. Small and meidum-sized enterprises have lower economic strength compared to large businesses. Another problem that affects almost all enterprises in The Czech Republic since the middle of the year 2016 is the shortage of staff. Even the restaurant breweries are affected by these problems. Small breweries have been developing fast since 2013. About 50 new small breweries are founded every year. To become competitive, the breweries must have a certain competitive advantage so they need to know their strengths and weaknesses and above all, they must know the business environment in their area. The companies are usually very closesly connected with the region where they operate.

More effective approaches of brown coal post-mining restoration
Christov, Ivan ; Hendrychová, Markéta (advisor) ; Walmsley, Alena (referee)
The thesis is focused on evaluation of landscape restoration procedures. The land was heavily devastated by large-scale quarrying. Here are compared reclamation procedures used in the Czech Republic and abroad. Study area is the North Bohemian brown coal basin, which formed areas valuable for many endangered species of flora and fauna after the mining has ended. Surface coal mining method causes the extinction of villages, roads, railways, land and greenery. Our task now is to minimalize these effects as much as possible. To create a new landscape, with an emphasis on the environment. Reclamation helps us to do that. Monitored location is Střimická dump, where the representation of non-productive habitat was evaluated and there was proposed new, more efficient version of reclamation. Mapping has found that the current state of the dump is 5,2 % representation of non-productive habitat. The proposed variant represents the addition of new elements and thus increase the proportion to 23,5 %, which corresponds with the current trend of post-mining landscape recovery.

Condition monitoring of thrust ball bearings using continuous AE
Chlada, Milan ; Nohal, L. ; Převorovský, Zdeněk
Fast and reliable analysis of continuous AE recorded during endurance tests on flat washer parts reliably simulating critical rolling contact fatigue of the full-scale bearings is presented in the paper. Two channels of continuous AE signal were partially recorded within whole specimen lifetime tests and compared with other experimental parameters as vibration rate or temperature. As an alternative to classical spectrogram analysis, we proposed to use histograms of time intervals between threshold amplitudes crossings in various frequency bands represented by the wavelet decomposition. Results obtained on long-time records are discussed, illustrating advantages of proposed AE signal processing, which can be done in real time to observe the processes before the onset of the final damage on the surface of the specimen more precisely than vibrodiagnostics.
