Vliv intensity míchání na filtrační cykly při úpravě vody
Pivokonský, Martin ; Pivokonská, Lenka ; Švec, Martin
The aim of this contribution is to investigate aggregation efficiencies when high (G= 260 s-1) and low (G= 60 s-1) intensity agitation is applied for a treatment of surface water with high content of humic substances in a pilot size operation. It was established that high intensity agitation represented by a fluid layer of granular material (FLGM) can be more effective for an aggregation agitation than low intensity agitation with the help of the perforated baffles (PB). The FLGM improves performance of the filters because the filtration runs in the technological arrangement with FLGM took longer periods compared with low intensity agitation.

Valjent, Zdeněk ; Slepičková, Irena (advisor) ; Teplý, Zdeněk (referee) ; Krejčí, Milada (referee)
The active lifestyle of undergraduates (students of The Faculty of Electrical Engineering of CTU in Prague) The main aim of this study was to investigate what opinions, attitudes and practices of students of FEE CTU change and develop during the university studies in selected dimensions of an active lifestyle. It was done by the mixed research. The main research was carried out by using the method of repeated cross-sectional quest, when the incoming students to the first volume in 2007 in the count of 625 were immediately underwent the questionnaire quest after their entering to the school in October in 2007 and students of higher volumes in the count of 581 then at least after 4 passed semesters of their studies in May and June in 2008. Changes between the two groups were proved by "effect size", which was calculated in each indicator as the difference of relative frequencies of "median categories" of both files. To further identify the causes of found differences by questionnaire quest using statistical methods between the collection of students of the first volume and the collection of students of higher volumes, were used techniques of qualitative research at the conclusion - individual and group interviews with 32 students of higher classes and content analysis of written text, which was...

Wein, Ondřej ; Tovčigrečko, Valentin ; Sobolík, Václav ; Mansurov, V. A.
Theory for a disk probe is compared with existing numerical solutions and confirmed by electrochemical experiment under limiting diffusion conditions, using potentiostatic transient. The theory is relevant also for heat transfer probes, where the edge effects are even stronger than in analogous mass transfer experiments, as the thermal diffusion coefficient is much higher.

Charles University in Prague Faculty of Science Department of Inorganic Chemistry STUDY OF PROPERTIES OF TITANIUM DIOXIDE NANOPARTICLES. PhD Thesis Abstract Jan Procházka Prague 2009 8. This PhD thesis is based on publications and patent applications (1-9) to which the author contributed considerably. The list of the publications is attached at the end of this text. Systematic research of the properties of TiO2 nanoparticles brought new pieces of knowledge into syntheses of titanium dioxide nanoparticles organized in the templated structures. When the structures were used in the solar cells, their solar efficiency significantly surpassed the performance of the conventional TiO2 films. The study was focused on the engineering and optimization of parameters of the nanostructures used as anodes in the dye sensitized solar cells (DSC). Several new technical solutions have been delivered during the work on variety of TiO2 structures. First, the factors with an impact on the proper function of the TiO2 multilayer film were determined 9. and then, the layer by layer deposition technique was perfected. Introduction of phosphorus into the templated mesoporous film synthesis protocol represented significant progress. The presence of phosphorus stabilized the TiO2 surface area at a high temperature and allowed a...

Transdermal in vitro permeation of methoxytacrine. III.
Režňáková, Eva ; Doležal, Pavel (advisor) ; Bajgar, Jiří (referee)
Diploma Thesis 2006, Eva Režňáková Abstract The theoretical part gives a list of selected issues on transdermal drug delivery and summarizes information on Azone, including new technical information published in 2005. In vitro permeation experiments using the excised pig skin confirm the considerable potential for transdermal administration of 7-methoxytacrine. Using the isopropyl myristate as a vehicle the therapeutically valuable fluxes at about 15 [μg/cm2.h-1] were obtained. Transdermal acceleration and impact of 5% added amounts of methyl pyrrolidone and dodecyl pyrrolidone were not established. As a promising in this respect appears to use Azone and transkarbam 12.
