Kopecký, Robert ; Kropáček, Luboš (advisor) ; Veselý, Rudolf (referee) ; Pauknerová, Monika (referee)
In my dissertation thesis I tried to explicate the fundamental institutes of Islamic family law, according to modern and contemporary legislation in a number of Arab states. The family law is fairly exhaustively treated in the sacred book of Muslims, in Koran, albeit in a number of scattered passages, mostly in suras from Medinese period. These passages are defined with more precision by the prestigeous method of the interpretation of Koran, with so called taj<;ir and thanks to collected statements of the Prophet Muhammad and his companions, constituting the tradition, so called swma. And the modern and contemporary legislation is based rigid on it with some westernized elements. After a brief acquaintance comprehension of the personal statute in contemporary Near Eastern countries is described in detail. The next chapter contains the description of the sense of marriage in Islamic law in three aspects- legal, social and religious. It is a contract of civil law concluded by the bridegroom with the legal guardian of the bride, so called wali. After this I continue through the short characterization of conditions of the conclusion of the marriage, for example form and capacity, limitations to marry any person of the opposite sex, special time period cidda ... The following part of thesis describes dissolution...

Renaissance Appearance of Melnik Castle
Čermáková, Lucie ; Zlatohlávek, Martin (advisor) ; Nespěšná Hamsíková, Magdaléna (referee)
Renaissance appearance of Mělník chateau Bakalářská práce - Lucie Čermáková The appearance of Mělník chateau has been developed for centuries. We cannot tell it is a typical Renaissance building structure but the most significant reconstruction took place in a Renaissance era. At that time, its horizontal projection was L-shaped. A person in possession, at those times, Zdislav Berka z Dubé had merit in most extensive treatments of the chateau in mid-1600. He invested considerable amount of money into building-up of the northern arcade wing-wall and a sgraffito decoration of the courtyard. Building treatments got under way in 1542 when Berka acquired the chateau and its finalization is assumed to have come between 1554-1555, also according to extant bills and engraven style found in sgraffito decoration. Sgraffito decoration came into existence in connection with a new build-up of the northern wing-wall and a staircase tower, and it also dates back to the same period. Mělník's sgraffito was considered as the oldest dated sgraffito decoration for a long time. However, we know about older examples of dated sgraffitos nowadays which cannot change the fact that Mělník's arcades, including its decoration, still belong to one of the oldest. The structure of Mělník's arcades are not to be found anywhere...

Idea of the crusades in the 14th Century: Philippe de Mèzieres - Songe du Vieil Pelerin
Radkovská, Marie ; Soukup, Pavel (referee) ; Nejedlý, Martin (advisor)
In the 14th century, the idea of the crusade remains still alive. After the falI of Acre in 1291, however, historians speak rather of continuation of an ideal. In fact, the crusading efforts of the popes and the princes became mostly the false crusades, without the interest of reaching the origina1 objective - the delivrance of the Holy Land. The idea of the crusade found an ardent indefatigable defender in Philippe de Mézieres (1327-1405). Joining the military expedition to the East, the twenty-year old little noble of Picardy visited the places of the Passion in Jerusalem. Profoundly touched by confrontation with the miserable condition of the ho ly places and after receiving a divine mission, he decided to found a new military order and consacred his life to the passagium generale for the delivrance of the Holy Land. He went trough various careers of a knight, of a royal and papal ambassador, of a royal chancelIor, councillor and tutor. His last years were spent by literary activity. Being a part of the Philippe's alI-life crusading propaganda, the extensive alIegorica1 composition Songe du Vieil Pelerin (the Dream oj the Old Pilgrim, 1389) should have reminded the French king Charles VI. of virtues of a good ruler and encourage him to make peace with England, to finish the schism and to reform the...

Klimešová, Martina ; Plechanovová, Běla (advisor) ; Bureš, Oldřich (referee) ; Sjöstedt, Gunnar (referee)
Title: Using Carrots to Bring Peace? Negotiation and Third Party Involvement Author: Martina Klimesova 284 p. (+references and appendices) March 2011 How to make peace? This dissertation answers what impact third party incentives have on peace negotiation, more specifically on negotiation strategies in internal armed conflicts based on self-determination grievances. This study further assesses when the ripest time for the employment of incentives is, and in what way external incentives have an impact on possible negotiation asymmetries. Incentives in the following negotiation processes were analyzed: GoSL-LTTE in Sri Lanka (Eelam, 2002-03; 2006), GoI-GAM in Indonesia (Aceh, 2000-03; 2005), and the GRP-MILF in the Philippines (Mindanao, 2001-08). The findings indicate that those third party incentives which are linked to the core conflict issues are most likely to have some impact on the negotiation, but that committed pro-process leadership by the conflicting parties is also a necessity. The research also indicated that third parties have only limited options in employing incentives that can have an impact on the core conflict issues; and that, in any case, they are rarely willing to pursue such options. Committed strong leadership, presence of ripeness (far more frequently stipulated by an MHS than MEO),...

Position and Role of General Nurse in Society
KULHÁNKOVÁ, Petra
Present status: New trends in medicine and consequently in nursing gradually do not only change the view of society of the occupation of nurse, but they also increase requirements for knowledge and skills a person doing this job has. However, society does not realize the intensity of this profession which can have both positive and negative impacts on partnerships and family lives of nurses who strive to help and support people, whether they are healthy or ill. Objective: The main objective of the research survey was not only a deep analysis of the occupation of nurse in the society, but especially the effort to map the impact the profession has on the private life of a nurse. Methodology: The objective of this research was to understand all aspects of the occupation and at the same time to examine the influence of the profession on private life. These are the reasons why it was more suitable to select a qualitative survey method which was more personal and could go deeper to the given problems. The main research survey was conducted by means of a semi-structured interview which was always held in the environment selected by a respondent. The interview was carried out separately due to the possibility to obtain new facts or to compare different opinions with gender balance. Open questions were asked with a relatively wide scope to enable more extensive answers. It was unnecessary to always ask all the questions and their order was not strictly determined. Besides interviews, other survey methods were used; both qualitative ones to supplement the atmosphere during interviews, and quantitative ones in the form of an anonymous poll. The poll was not pre-planned and it only dealt with a general level of the occupation of nurse. Research cohort: The object of the research survey was partners or married couples who lived together for various periods of time, of whom one of the partners worked as a nurse in health care. The total number of respondents was 16, of which 8 women-nurses and 8 men, partners of nurses. 210 respondents participated in the poll.
